00:16:21Comment est-ce que James va survivre ça pour vraiment ?
00:16:26Heads up !
00:16:30Here's your brain !
00:16:32Il probably gave him brain damage, back damage.
00:16:36You know what I'll do is the camp.
00:16:38I'll put fire on the camp.
00:16:40I'll just go like...
00:16:42I could put like a pillow in front.
00:16:44But then you'll still get like knocked down.
00:16:46Nothing will hurt this bad boy.
00:16:48Yeah.
00:16:51Got my rope, got my paint in.
00:16:55Ready for my trap. Brave boy.
00:16:58Not as brave as me.
00:17:00I'm taking 12,000 degrees to my forehead.
00:17:02OK. Short straw there, guys. Bad luck.
00:17:05Well, blowtorch versus paint can.
00:17:07I'd actually prefer to face the blowtorch
00:17:09because you can be burnt and very quickly put it out.
00:17:12But straight on, paint can to the face.
00:17:15We're talking brain damage.
00:17:17I'm glad you're doing this one.
00:17:19Now I'm worried about why this is here.
00:17:21This is a ballistic gel head that's made from an agar agar jelly.
00:17:25So it's vegan, but it's a very dense jelly
00:17:28used to simulate the human body in crash test scenarios.
00:17:31I don't think the vegan thing comforts me at the minute.
00:17:33I mean, you know, I was all for it, but like...
00:17:36Have a feel. It's quite heavy.
00:17:39It is heavy, actually. That's more solid than it looked.
00:17:42And this face doesn't even have, like, a jawbone or teeth
00:17:45or a nose to be broken.
00:17:46I quite like my nose.
00:17:48You know how, like, J-Lo had a bum insured?
00:17:50I did that with my nose. Did you really?
00:17:52Yeah.
00:17:53Let's take him over to the test rig and run some experiments.
00:17:55Just to confirm, that ballistics head is still a very definite representation
00:18:03of James's actual face.
00:18:05I think it's a bit smaller.
00:18:07Great. Now I've got to go on a face diet.
00:18:09Don't let me stand in the way of you doing this one, Guz.
00:18:12I can see in your eyes it's getting a bit appealing
00:18:14watching the whole set-up for this.
00:18:16Look into my eyes. Do my eyes look like I want to do this?
00:18:18It's going to reach 17 miles per hour at the bottom.
00:18:2017 miles an hour from there?
00:18:22Yep. All right, I'm ready.
00:18:24Three, two, one.
00:18:52That's going to break your face.
00:18:54Yeah, that vegan head is not getting up ever again in its life.
00:18:57That was like a three-ton van slamming into you.
00:19:01You might die.
00:19:03In my expert opinion, for this trap, let's lower the rope so you take it on your body.
00:19:08How good are your stomach muscles?
00:19:10Not great, but I don't want to go any lower than that.
00:19:13That's supposed to accurately represent my brother James Acaster.
00:19:22I asked for the measurements and this is what came through.
00:19:24So what I want to get an idea of now is how far might you travel?
00:19:28I would like to hazard a guess.
00:19:29Yep.
00:19:30Far.
00:19:31Far.
00:19:32And...
00:19:33Up, please.
00:19:34Well done.
00:19:35You like that?
00:19:36Yeah, you kept that a secret, magic powers.
00:19:37Yep.
00:19:38Right, this time James, do you want to do the honours?
00:19:39Three, two, one.
00:19:40Go.
00:19:41Oh...
00:19:42What!?
00:19:43This is one of the most common verwels…
00:19:45…you're outlifting with his Ni equivalent.
00:19:48Mmm.
00:19:49Well done.
00:19:50You like that?
00:19:51Yeah, you kept that a secret, magic powers.
00:19:53Yep.
00:19:54Right, this time James, do you want to do the honours?
00:19:56Three, two...
00:19:58One.
00:19:59Go.
00:20:06Oh, what!?

00:28:31I think we can conclude that this wouldn't work in real life.
00:28:36In the film, they've got actors who are saying the corresponding lines to what he's got queued up on the video.
00:28:41It's all very funny, but in real life, it doesn't make any sense.
00:28:47It's a disaster. It doesn't work.
00:28:48They're amazing at their jobs, and we maybe aren't.
00:28:52So, we've proved the pizza prank is a load of old baloney, but what about Kevin's electrocution booby trap?
00:29:03You can't watch.
00:29:04I think he would have to go to a doctor's.
00:29:15Turn into a skeleton, yo.
00:29:17Would you really see a skeleton if you turn out that electric?
00:29:29I don't think so.
00:29:31He'd be like, oh, ha, oh.
00:29:33Kevin's quite harsh.
00:29:35Yeah, but, like, he doesn't want his house to get robbed when, like, his parents aren't there.
00:29:39He's being quite, like, he's being a good boy.
00:29:46Them kids.
00:29:48They look like they enjoy this.
00:29:49Ha, ha, watch NetHoma TV.
00:29:51We enjoyed it.
00:29:51You enjoyed it.
00:29:52Marv getting all brrrr when we were kids.
00:29:54But the truth is, it's not no fun and games.
00:29:57It's not no jokes.
00:29:58It feels very, very dangerous to me, Zoe.
00:30:00Can you confirm that it's danger?
00:30:01Deadly.
00:30:02Huh?
00:30:03Deadly.
00:30:04Well, actually.
00:30:05Actually, seriously, what Marv experienced was enough electricity to kill someone.
00:30:10Happy Christmas.
00:30:11Happy Christmas, Zoe.
00:30:13That's nice.
00:30:14I think if all bad news is ended with the words, happy Christmas, then you feel better.
00:30:18So, what I want is for you to experience electricity at a level that's still safe,
00:30:22but that will help engender some respect for it.
00:30:25Who's defining what's safe and what's not here?
00:30:27You said Marv could have died from grabbing on them concrete and like that.
00:30:31Yeah.
00:30:31OK, well, this is a TENS machine, transcutaneal electrical nerve stimulant.
00:30:36It's designed to be used at home with no medical professionals present.
00:30:40Because what I'd like you to do is just have a nice little tea party with me.
00:30:43Piece of cake, cup of tea.
00:30:45But if you do it wearing these, I will run some current through you.
00:30:49Let me put it on you.
00:30:52Say when.
00:30:55Pfft, when.
00:30:56Ooh, I've got a little bit of fizzing going on in my arm, guys!
00:31:00There you go.
00:31:00How was that?
00:31:01Fizzy?
00:31:01Yeah, it's fizzy.
00:31:02Fizzy.
00:31:02About pins and needles.
00:31:03Maybe take a little sip of tea?
00:31:05What's that now?
00:31:06What's that now?
00:31:07Why are you making my arm twerk?
00:31:08Why is my arm twerking?
00:31:10That is...
00:31:11Huh?
00:31:12Didn't look like a Cardi B video.
00:31:13OK, OK.
00:31:15Why is his arm not twerking?
00:31:16It's not doing what mine was doing.
00:31:17All right, we're going back to James.
00:31:19Ah!
00:31:19Whoa!
00:31:20Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:31:22Ah!
00:31:22Right.
00:31:23That's ampage there.
00:31:24Right, that...
00:31:25Choo-choo-choo-choo-choo-choo-choo.
00:31:26Whoa, whoa!
00:31:27That's probably enough.
00:31:28So this is still milliamps, right?
00:31:30If you hit 30 milliamps, that's when you start to get...
00:31:33Ah, stop!
00:31:34What's called the freezing current.
00:31:36Whatever you've done, look at that cake.
00:31:38Look at the state of ampage.
00:31:39I now want to show you something where we keep that ampage low
00:31:44But we're going to bring the voltage up
00:31:46I tell you what, I'm so confident, I'll go first
00:31:50What it is, is a sort of wand
00:31:54And it's called the violet wand
00:31:56Where you put in these attachments
00:31:58And then this will become charged up
00:32:01And this becomes an electrode
00:32:02And then earth itself
00:32:03You said earths itself
00:32:06Yeah
00:32:06What's the earth in itself through?
00:32:08Your body, or my body
00:32:09Yeah, I'm good
00:32:10Yeah, okay
00:32:11I think this little one will be nice
00:32:13Nice for what?
00:32:16I'm now charged
00:32:17Congratulations
00:32:18Can I discharge onto you?
00:32:20Well, at least you asked
00:32:22So this is tiny milliamps
00:32:30But we're dealing with 30,000 volts
00:32:33That's described as the erotic range
00:32:35Sorry, is that a say again one more time?
00:32:37The erotic range
00:32:39Yeah
00:32:40Ooh
00:32:40So you've experienced what electricity can do
00:32:45At really safe, low levels
00:32:48Next I'm going to show you electricity as it is out of the mains
00:32:52So this is now unsafe levels
00:32:54I think you need to see the reality of what actually Marv had to deal with
00:32:58Okay, let's do it
00:32:59This setup is designed to show you what happens when you run mains electricity
00:33:05Through something that conducts
00:33:07We conduct, gherkins also conduct, we both contain salt and water
00:33:13What kind of dangers could be present here?
00:33:15Flying vinegar droplets in the eye
00:33:18We're going to get murked by the gherk
00:33:19Okay, deep breaths, you ready?
00:33:20Three, two, one
00:33:25Oh
00:33:28Whoa
00:33:30Look at that
00:33:33Like a Christmas tree
00:33:34Yeah, yeah
00:33:35That was sick
00:33:37Smoking, literally smoking
00:33:39How am I supposed to stay safe from this?
00:33:44I recommend at least beginning with rubber gloves
00:33:48So this is an insulating material
00:33:50So electricity won't conduct through rubber
00:33:53Lovely
00:33:54They suit you actually
00:33:55Do they really?
00:33:57I'll have a word in Kevin's ear
00:33:58Make sure that he's balancing that voltage and ampage right
00:34:01So that it is both electrified but maybe not deadly
00:34:06Maybe
00:34:06We're adding that rubber
00:34:08Just as the background safeguarding confidence giver to go for the grab
00:34:12You are guaranteeing to me
00:34:14If I wear these rubber gloves
00:34:16And I wear an all-rubber suit
00:34:17That I can catch that little Kevin
00:34:19And not die in the process
00:34:21There are no guarantees with electricity
00:34:23But you're good to go when you've got those gloves on
00:34:26It's crazy to think that the stunts in Home Alone were all done for real
00:34:34None of that CGI business
00:34:35So I'm getting a scoop from one of the heroes involved
00:34:38It's Joe Pesci's stuntman
00:34:40And innovator of the now infamous Home Alone fall
00:34:43Troy Brown
00:34:43Troy, thank you for joining me today
00:34:47First things first
00:34:49Home Alone has become well known
00:34:51For its brutality in the stunts
00:34:54What did you think when you first saw some of what they had planned for you?
00:34:59I mean to make comedy funny you have to do physical stuff
00:35:02So we tried to do everything
00:35:04It was all for real
00:35:05You try to hit the ground as hard as you can
00:35:07It's always funny seeing someone get hurt
00:35:09And in terms of the stunts in the first film
00:35:13If you could kind of talk me through
00:35:14The first one was the blowtorch to the head
00:35:17How did that work out?
00:35:18They had a special cap that they'd blow the heat on
00:35:21And that was more of a visual effect
00:35:23But on the second Home Alone
00:35:25When we did the blowtorch
00:35:27They lit my head on fire
00:35:29And I did a real fire where I did a handstand on the toilet
00:35:31And put it out
00:35:32Yeah, that was real fire
00:35:34The stunts in the film are so iconic
00:35:38But the one that stands out above all the rest
00:35:41This is the Home Alone Fall
00:35:43Please can you talk us through what the Home Alone Fall is
00:35:47And how it's done
00:35:48Basically it's just landing flat on your back
00:35:50Without twisting or putting an arm out
00:35:52But you basically just plant one foot
00:35:55And push off as hard as you can
00:35:56And get your feet above your head
00:35:58So you come flat
00:35:59And make sure you have your chin tucked
00:36:01So you don't hit your head
00:36:02And then after Home Alone
00:36:04It really got my career going
00:36:06As far as
00:36:07I got called for every stair fall
00:36:09Getting hit by cars
00:36:10And stuff
00:36:11Like physical stuff
00:36:12Yeah
00:36:12The stunts
00:36:13And the falls
00:36:15They're a big part of why
00:36:17I think it's had that longevity
00:36:19Talking the falls
00:36:20I'll tell you a lot of his stunts
00:36:21Was Dan Stern
00:36:23Because he's super athletic
00:36:24But yeah
00:36:25He did a lot of this stuff
00:36:26Like getting hit with iron
00:36:28Of course
00:36:28What's hilarious in the second one
00:36:30Is where he's getting electrocuted
00:36:32You know
00:36:32That night was fun
00:36:33I mean that was funny
00:36:34Just watching it
00:36:35Yeah
00:36:35Would you want to do any of these stunts again now?
00:36:40Because I'm not
00:36:40You know I'm old and fat now
00:36:42So it wouldn't look as good
00:36:43But yeah
00:36:44And this is the big question
00:36:47Would you be able to show me?
00:36:49I may regret asking this
00:36:50Yeah we'll do something
00:36:51Okay then
00:36:52We'll hit you with a shovel or something
00:36:54How's that?
00:36:54Sorry you just
00:36:54You would just hit me with a shovel or something
00:36:56Yeah
00:36:56No maybe we'll just scrap that question guys
00:36:59Don't worry about that bit
00:37:00That's fun
00:37:00So Troy
00:37:02I'm ready
00:37:03We've got the crash mat
00:37:04So like how do we do this safely?
00:37:06Like do I kind of pluck my feet?
00:37:08Is there different stuff?
00:37:09Or is it just
00:37:09Are you alright dude?
00:37:15Oh yeah
00:37:16Yeah
00:37:16It's been lovely to meet you Troy
00:37:25Thanks
00:37:26Thanks for that pal
00:37:28I must say
00:37:30I'm glad that's the only stunt
00:37:32I've got to do
00:37:32Here
00:37:33Good luck
00:37:34Back in the studio
00:37:35Fellas
00:37:36Gaz
00:37:40Gaz what are you doing in there?
00:37:42Oh you're going to love it
00:37:43It's a surprise for you
00:37:44Gaz you know I don't like surprises
00:37:46Come on
00:37:46Just come out
00:37:47No no no
00:37:48We need to remember
00:37:49Zoe was saying
00:37:49Rubber is for safety
00:37:51And I've got this rubber ready for you
00:37:53What were you talking
00:37:55Guys this is stupid
00:37:56I'm coming in okay
00:37:57I want to know what's going on in there
00:37:59Still to come
00:38:02This is me dressed up as
00:38:03You're an idiot
00:38:07It's absolutely mad
00:38:10Serious injury
00:38:11I don't want to die
00:38:13What are you doing?
00:38:28I'm using that turkey from earlier
00:38:29To make us some lovely Christmas sandwiches
00:38:31Girls are you hungry?
00:38:32It looks a bit dry
00:38:33It's not my thing really
00:38:34I know this is going to be a gourmet sandwich
00:38:35Mate mate
00:38:36You want me to toast it for you?
00:38:37Do you have the ability to do that?
00:38:38Toast you a lovely Thanksgiving sandwich right here
00:38:41Woah
00:38:42Ha ha ha
00:38:43Yeah
00:38:44Funny
00:38:45Funny
00:38:46Funny
00:38:47Funny
00:38:48Brilliant
00:38:49Woah
00:38:50That knife's hot
00:38:53Bon Appetit
00:39:01It doesn't smell good
00:39:02Yeah
00:39:03To be honest
00:39:04As I was doing it
00:39:05I thought
00:39:06This is not my best sandwich I've ever made
00:39:08Oh
00:39:10This red hot doorknob scene makes me wince like a pit bull sucking on nettles
00:39:14Thank God James is taking this one
00:39:17Like this is one of my favourite parts ever
00:39:19And he doesn't even look
00:39:26That really hurt
00:39:27Yeah
00:39:28Cause it was like super hot when you touch it
00:39:30Yeah
00:39:31Yeah
00:39:35I think that would be the most painfullest thing in my life
00:39:40Well at least you have the tattoo now
00:39:43What would you do?
00:39:44What would you do?
00:39:45I'll probably do it with like only with the teeth cause like teeth cause...
00:39:50Teeth?
00:39:54The challenge here is how to make that door handle glow red hot
00:39:59Kevin used a barbecue fire lighter like that one there on the shelf
00:40:02This one here
00:40:03Yeah yeah grab that
00:40:04Genius
00:40:05Works every time
00:40:06Well let's give it a try
00:40:07So hang it on the doorknob
00:40:08Okay
00:40:09This is basically a kettle element
00:40:11Flick the switch
00:40:15How quick is it hot?
00:40:17Well let's have a look
00:40:18I've got my temperature gun
00:40:19I'd like to see the deleted scene in Home Alone
00:40:21Where he's got a temperature gun and he's just checking
00:40:24Is that hot enough yet?
00:40:25I don't know if that's gonna burn him
00:40:26Well I think that's the point
00:40:27Is that the element is glowing red hot
00:40:30And the door handle nothing
00:40:32And it's because it's cooling into the air
00:40:34You haven't got that speed of conduction
00:40:37Any other ideas?
00:40:46Oi hoy hoy hoy hoy
00:40:48That's it?
00:40:50390...
00:40:51It's gone all over the shop
00:40:53It's absolutely mad
00:40:58I could see the face of Jesus through the flame
00:41:00Is that normal?
00:41:01Can you see the door's actually catching fire?
00:41:05It's on fire
00:41:06You don't do anything about that
00:41:07Just leave it
00:41:08Wood burns at a lower temperature than the metal
00:41:11So what's the door's temperature?
00:41:12170
00:41:13Handle temperature?
00:41:1475
00:41:15Oui.
00:42:01Oui.
00:42:15Ch وال Brillat KantéECMaipur ?
00:42:16R brick de grâce.
00:42:18Mon silhouette, mon talk,
00:42:19c'est une surface。
00:42:20Je pense que j'ai non l'an posé quelque chose.
00:42:23C'est pareil, du coup d'un coup de pied.
00:42:27Je m'en déduis.
00:42:28Je vais voir, c'est parti.
00:42:30Oui, c'est parti.
00:42:32L'accéral, ça va.
00:42:34Même pas d'un coup de pied mais !
00:42:35Oui, ça peut faire quelque chose !
00:42:37Descălés dans le cinéma !
00:42:40So if that was somebody's hand that's irreparable damage
00:42:45I mean we're talking serious serious injury
00:42:47What if I like made a glove out of ice ice beats fire
00:42:50It would definitely give you maybe enough time would you have enough grip behind you
00:42:56There are some of my welding gloves that are safer best
00:43:00They're not designed for like direct grabbing
00:43:02But they may give some level of protection if you want to give it a try
00:43:05They're not designed for direct grabbing
00:43:08Not for prolonged you would like me to directly grab it
00:43:11Yes
00:43:12Be careful man
00:43:16No I'm saying I'm your friend
00:43:18Do you feel like you could get some purchase on it and turn brilliant
00:43:24There's smoke coming off of that though and I felt it warm
00:43:27I might have to double glove
00:43:29Or I put the meat on the welder's glove
00:43:32I'd call that a composite material very advanced
00:43:35See I knew that's what I was going to say
00:43:36Composition material
00:43:37Composite
00:43:38Composite
00:43:39Say that one more time
00:43:39Like you guys
00:43:40Two or more materials together and they become greater than the sum of their parts
00:43:44Yeah we're greater than the sum of our parts
00:43:46Right
00:43:47I don't even know what I mean
00:43:48Sounds good
00:43:48Is Brooker doing any of this?
00:43:50We're getting frazzed
00:43:51What's Brooker doing?
00:43:53Left us home alone
00:43:54Being able to laugh at the violence of home alone rather than cry
00:44:04Is all down to the genius comedy acting of Daniel Stern and Joe Pescher
00:44:08Harry and Marv have gone down as one of the greatest double acts in cinema history
00:44:15You and Joe had so much chemistry on the film
00:44:20Where did that come from?
00:44:21We were classic characters in a certain way
00:44:24He's the short tough Jimmy Cagney you know
00:44:27And I was the goof
00:44:29It's Laurel and Hardy
00:44:31It's you know the contrasting characters
00:44:34The friendship was fun
00:44:36The movie was fun
00:44:37The silliness
00:44:39We both approached it in our own way
00:44:41You know that was comfortable with each of us
00:44:44And the chemistry kind of clicked
00:44:46I heard somewhere that on set
00:44:49Joe genuinely wanted Macaulay Culkin to be intimidated by him
00:44:54So would kind of act intimidating
00:44:56Joe wanted everybody to be intimidated by him
00:44:59That wasn't just at Mac
00:45:00That was at everybody
00:45:01But Joe yeah I think Joe did have a bit of that like
00:45:04He wanted Mac to be scared of him
00:45:06Again I think he wanted everybody
00:45:08And he still is scary
00:45:10And you've done so much in your career
00:45:12So many films so many TV shows
00:45:14But is Home Alone the thing that people talk to you the most about?
00:45:19Yeah people are crazy about it
00:45:21I mean I have people come up to me with tattoos of myself on them
00:45:25Like people have me tattooed on different parts of their body
00:45:29And they say hey Marv
00:45:31And wet bandits you know
00:45:33The wet bandit or Marv
00:45:35But the wet bandit really hung on as it resonated with people I guess
00:45:41Is that kind of the weirdest kind of fan obsession thing that you've seen?
00:45:45Yeah I mean that can't get any weirder
00:45:47Like you don't know me
00:45:49And you took the effort to permanently tattoo my face onto your body
00:45:55That blows my mind
00:45:57Again like I've learned to embrace it
00:46:00As opposed to thinking it's too weird
00:46:02If people want to go off on their own journeys on Home Alone
00:46:06And just be obsessed by it
00:46:08I think that's beautiful now
00:46:10I don't think it's weird
00:46:11I've done it myself
00:46:12I've dressed up as
00:46:13Really?
00:46:14I just want to show you this quickly
00:46:16So I dressed up in the scene where you get electrocuted
00:46:21Oh one of my favourites
00:46:23This is me dressed up as
00:46:25You're an idiot
00:46:33What a riot
00:46:36Daniel thank you so much
00:46:38This has been just
00:46:39This has been one of the great days of my life
00:46:42And I include getting married and having my kids as well
00:46:45Get out of town
00:46:46He has
00:46:47It's been
00:46:47That's very sweet
00:46:48It's been an absolute privilege to spend time with you
00:46:51And talk about the film that I love so much
00:46:54But just before we go
00:46:56I've got one thing that I'd like to ask you
00:46:59What?
00:47:00Would you be okay to sign my iron?
00:47:05Sign it yes
00:47:06If you want me to smash it into my face
00:47:09That's extra
00:47:09I'd be honoured to
00:47:12Sign your
00:47:13There you go, sir
00:47:14Thank you so much
00:47:15Marv
00:47:17Well, there you go
00:47:21Still to come
00:47:22We're going to have a real nice swing
00:47:25I'm actually stood outside the McAllister house
00:47:30Now let's glove up
00:47:32Meaty
00:47:42Why Jamesy baby?
00:47:48Self-analyst time
00:47:49Is it the one where we eat loads of pizza
00:47:51Eat loads of ice cream
00:47:52And then wake up in a nice big soft bed in a hotel on Christmas morning
00:47:55And unwrap loads of presents?
00:47:56No, it's the zip wire there
00:47:58Oh
00:47:58Well, that's all right
00:47:59Then he comes out the house
00:48:01Lands safely in his tree house
00:48:02That'll be fun
00:48:03Not quite
00:48:05Oh, yeah
00:48:06The robbers make it halfway, right?
00:48:08And then the wire gets cut
00:48:09And they smash it to the side of the house
00:48:10Hard
00:48:11Really hard, that's the one, yeah
00:48:14That doesn't feel very Christmassy to me
00:48:17Hey, guys
00:48:25Check this out
00:48:27Go back
00:48:29Go back
00:48:30Go, go back
00:48:30They're going to stress about it
00:48:32And they're going to fall
00:48:33Don't look down
00:48:34Down we go
00:48:36Don't smile
00:48:41Kevin said have like all these pranks
00:48:46And this is like the big end one
00:48:47Yeah, it's like the banger
00:48:49The banger
00:48:50The banger
00:48:51How would you feel if that was you?
00:48:53I don't know, because I'd be dead
00:48:54Final trap
00:48:59Who's scared of heights?
00:49:01Guts
00:49:01And me
00:49:02Only a little bit
00:49:03And usually I would say, psst, not a problem
00:49:06But based on everything you've done showing us
00:49:08I think we're going to die if we do this
00:49:11Possibly, but if it's a zip line
00:49:13This is like, this is fine
00:49:15I've seen this in the film
00:49:16And they zip down
00:49:17I'm looking forward to doing this
00:49:18When it looks fun
00:49:18Whee!
00:49:19Yeah, it's like wee, rough and tumble
00:49:21It's fine
00:49:22In the film, they swing back against the house, don't they?
00:49:25Because Kevin cuts the rope
00:49:26Yeah
00:49:26So back they swing
00:49:28A la paint can, in fact
00:49:29Yeah
00:49:30Whoop!
00:49:31And then the impact is against the wall
00:49:32This rig-up will show what should have happened
00:49:35To the burglars in the film
00:49:36And what will happen to you
00:49:37If you happen to swing back to the wall
00:49:40Without any protection
00:49:41And hey Cassidy, just to confirm
00:49:43You think, based on how Zoe's just teed this up
00:49:46That you would still like to
00:49:49If out of all the options were there
00:49:50Swing into the wall and you'd be okay
00:49:52Well, I don't know
00:49:53Seeing is believing
00:49:54When we see the whole experiment
00:49:56Fair enough
00:49:57But I reckon
00:49:58We're going to have a real nice swing
00:49:59And it'll be like a victory lap
00:50:01You and me
00:50:02Just swinging down
00:50:03Boom, boom, boom
00:50:04Maybe do it with no clothes on like the dummy
00:50:06I think this is going to be a laugh
00:50:08I think Zoe's saved the best till last
00:50:09As a little treat
00:50:10Okay
00:50:11Let's give it a go
00:50:12Three
00:50:13Two
00:50:14One
00:50:15Oh!
00:50:19That wasn't so bad
00:50:20Doing fine, that mannequin
00:50:22But
00:50:22The reality is
00:50:26We're going to have
00:50:27Broken limbs
00:50:28Cracked ribs
00:50:29Punctured lungs
00:50:30Damaged internal organs
00:50:31Maybe a little
00:50:32Loss of teeth
00:50:33Little loss of teeth
00:50:35Just one or two
00:50:35On top of all that damage
00:50:36Little bit of loss of teeth
00:50:37Teeth are gone as well
00:50:38Cracked skull
00:50:39Cracked skull
00:50:40There you go
00:50:41So what are you thinking for protection?
00:50:44Cover ourselves in springs
00:50:45And then we can bounce to safety
00:50:47If we fall
00:50:48Trampolines on the floor
00:50:49Bounce even higher
00:50:50Yeah
00:50:50Lay those out
00:50:52Before Kevin gets into the tree house
00:50:53Maybe bouncy castle house
00:50:56Like turn the whole house
00:50:57Into a bouncy castle
00:50:58The whole thing
00:50:59The budget's getting a bit high now
00:51:01I think most of it
00:51:02We've spent on guzz
00:51:03So I don't really
00:51:04Think we can push to
00:51:06Springs and a bouncy castle
00:51:07What else can we do?
00:51:11Bubble wrap
00:51:12As requested
00:51:16We've got our mannequin
00:51:17Wrapped in copious amounts
00:51:19Of bubble wrap
00:51:20With a little added extra inside
00:51:22I've put
00:51:22A number of these
00:51:24This is a balloon
00:51:26Filled with jelly
00:51:26And this is there
00:51:27To represent the internal organs
00:51:30Can I feel it?
00:51:31You can
00:51:31Don't squeeze too hard
00:51:32But yeah
00:51:35Feel it
00:51:35That feels nice
00:51:37Can we wait underneath
00:51:38The mannequin
00:51:39With our mouths open?
00:51:40There may be other bits
00:51:41Of shrapnel
00:51:42Like a foot
00:51:42Falling
00:51:43So I wouldn't
00:51:44Well it'll all stay in there
00:51:45Anyway won't it
00:51:46Because the bubble wrap
00:51:47Will do its job
00:51:47If the bubble wrap
00:51:48Does its job
00:51:49The limbs should be intact
00:51:50And the balloons inside
00:51:52Should be intact
00:51:53Bubble, balloon, organ, mannequin
00:51:58I go
00:51:59Three
00:52:00Two
00:52:00One
00:52:01Let's have it
00:52:01One
00:52:01Oh
00:52:02Oh
00:52:03His head came off
00:52:13I think we need to
00:52:14Take a closer look
00:52:15All right
00:52:24Let's take a look
00:52:26Right I've got to reach
00:52:29Around the front
00:52:30Zoe
00:52:31Oh one handed
00:52:32Doctor
00:52:33Bring that back
00:52:34Do you want to
00:52:35Pull that down a bit
00:52:36James?
00:52:36Strip it down
00:52:37Oh
00:52:37This mannequin's
00:52:39Had better days
00:52:40Sure
00:52:40Oh there's some
00:52:42Sticky icky there
00:52:43Oozeage
00:52:44Oh
00:52:46Oh my word
00:52:48It's not ideal
00:52:50So some of the balloons
00:52:52Were hung
00:52:52From these strings
00:52:53So that they could
00:52:54Swing inside
00:52:55And I actually
00:52:56Expected
00:52:57Some damage
00:52:58But this is
00:52:59Over 50%
00:53:01Of the balloons
00:53:01Have burst
00:53:02Doctor this is decimation
00:53:03Yeah
00:53:04Unsurvivable injuries
00:53:06Here
00:53:07So this trap
00:53:08Is unsurvivable
00:53:08That's what you're
00:53:09Saying is that
00:53:09We can't
00:53:10Trick this
00:53:11I'm saying
00:53:12Science can't help
00:53:13What?
00:53:14The only option
00:53:15You have is to
00:53:16Catch Kevin
00:53:16Before he cuts the rope
00:53:17Fine
00:53:18And then we've got
00:53:19To get down that
00:53:19Zip wire
00:53:20What's the fastest
00:53:21Way of doing that?
00:53:22Together
00:53:22Together
00:53:22Like
00:53:24Piggyback?
00:53:26Or face to face
00:53:27Koala bear
00:53:27As long as we're
00:53:28Together
00:53:29I'll koala you
00:53:29I'll be on you
00:53:31Yeah
00:53:31You'll be on me
00:53:32But we're going to
00:53:33Catch that kid
00:53:34Good luck
00:53:34What?
00:53:36I thought we were going to do another
00:53:38Cool plan
00:53:39Zoe?
00:53:42Doctor
00:53:42The next stop on my journey
00:53:49Is Chicago
00:53:50Where the film was actually shot
00:53:52I don't think I've ever been
00:53:53This excited in my entire life
00:53:55Because first up
00:53:56It's the big one
00:53:57The McAllister house
00:53:58To me
00:53:59This house epitomises Christmas
00:54:01And a 30 year dream
00:54:02Of visiting it
00:54:03Is about to come true
00:54:04This is amazing
00:54:05The McAllister's house
00:54:07Has always seemed
00:54:08A magical place to me
00:54:09I always wondered
00:54:10What Kevin's parents did
00:54:11To be able to afford it
00:54:12Now I've been told
00:54:13I can't bring the crew
00:54:14Onto the street
00:54:15To film here
00:54:15So I've had to
00:54:16Ditch the cameras
00:54:17And go mobile
00:54:18Let me have a look
00:54:19Oh my god
00:54:20I'm coming up to it now
00:54:22I can't believe this
00:54:25Oh man
00:54:27I'm actually stood outside
00:54:29The McAllister house
00:54:30I can't believe it
00:54:31I can't believe I'm here
00:54:33Honestly
00:54:34I've loved this house
00:54:35I've wanted to visit this house
00:54:36Ever since I was like six
00:54:37This is unbelievable
00:54:39I might as well give you
00:54:41Some facts
00:54:41Only the living room
00:54:43And hallway
00:54:43Were used in the film
00:54:44The rest of the rooms
00:54:45Were actually a studio set
00:54:47The amazing tree house
00:54:48Was built specially for the film
00:54:50They knocked it down again
00:54:51Straight after filming
00:54:52It's become an unbelievably
00:54:54Popular tourist spot
00:54:55With dozens of super fans
00:54:56Like me
00:54:57Turning up every single day
00:54:58To get their photo
00:54:59Taken outside
00:55:00It was bought in 2012
00:55:02For 1.6 million dollars
00:55:03An absolute bargain
00:55:05Considering it was listed
00:55:06At 2.4 million
00:55:07I can't believe I'm here
00:55:09I wanted to do the Kevin thing
00:55:11But I've got to use
00:55:11The hand to the face
00:55:13But I've got to hold
00:55:14My thing
00:55:14Still to come
00:55:19It's time for the boys
00:55:21To face their fate
00:55:22Think twice before you take this on
00:55:25Let's get that
00:55:27Kid
00:55:27This is it guys
00:55:55We're in the end game now
00:55:57We've learnt a lot
00:55:58We know how to survive
00:56:00All these traps
00:56:00More or less
00:56:01Now this is a case
00:56:02Of burgling Kevin's house
00:56:04For real
00:56:04Acaste I like your confidence
00:56:05But there's danger in there
00:56:07Anything could happen to us
00:56:11What about if my kids
00:56:12See this on television
00:56:13And they see their father
00:56:14And their uncle Acaste
00:56:14Dead in the ground
00:56:15We don't have to worry
00:56:17Just like Home Alone
00:56:18It's a family film
00:56:19This is a family TV show
00:56:21Everything we're doing
00:56:25Is perfectly safe
00:56:26And perfectly
00:56:27Immutable
00:56:28Hey guys
00:56:29Are you the two idiots
00:56:31That think they can catch me?
00:56:34You know what Acaste
00:56:34Every time I feel that fear inside me
00:56:36Yeah
00:56:36And I wonder why am I doing this
00:56:38I remember
00:56:38It's because of that little kid there
00:56:40I want to break him down
00:56:41I hate him so much
00:56:42I hate his stupid house
00:56:43His stupid snowman
00:56:43And all his stupid traps
00:56:44We're going to beat him
00:56:45And then we're going to beat him
00:56:46This is it Gus
00:56:49Oh
00:56:49I guess it is
00:56:50Let me say one more thing to you
00:56:52Before we do this
00:56:53Say it
00:56:53I really wish I was Alex Brooker right now
00:56:57The Grace Episcopal Church in Chicago
00:57:03Was used for one of my favourite scenes
00:57:05It's the poignant and emotional moment
00:57:07When Kevin realises
00:57:08Old man Marley
00:57:09Isn't actually a psychopathic murderer
00:57:11And it's my final stop
00:57:13Before I leave
00:57:14What's been a magical trip
00:57:15We've all got that one thing
00:57:18We do each year
00:57:18That makes it feel like Christmas
00:57:20Something that reminds us
00:57:21Of what it felt like
00:57:22To have Christmas as a kid
00:57:24And for me
00:57:25It's watching Home Alone
00:57:26I've been obsessed with this film
00:57:28Ever since I first saw it
00:57:29When I was six years old
00:57:30And I love it even more now
00:57:32That I'm 38
00:57:33I just
00:57:35I'm obsessed with it
00:57:36And to come here
00:57:37Meet some of the cast
00:57:38And see where it was filmed
00:57:39Has not only been
00:57:41A career highlight
00:57:42I think it's been a life highlight
00:57:43Honestly
00:57:44This is the best Christmas present
00:57:46I could have had
00:57:46Eight o'clock
00:57:51It's time for the boys
00:57:52To face their fate
00:57:53Have you got any words of advice
00:57:57For James and Guz
00:57:58Back in the studio
00:57:59Guys
00:58:00I'm a trained professional
00:58:01Do not do this
00:58:02I've heard too much about you guys
00:58:03I wouldn't do it
00:58:04But if you do do it
00:58:05Make sure you have plenty of insurance
00:58:06Listen to me
00:58:08I wish
00:58:08I wish I'd gotten a chance
00:58:10To meet you
00:58:10Before you meet your demise
00:58:12If Marv had really done
00:58:13Any of this stuff
00:58:14He'd be dead
00:58:15Please
00:58:17Think twice
00:58:18Before you take this on
00:58:19I just want to say
00:58:20Good luck to both of you
00:58:21And look
00:58:22Worst comes to worst
00:58:23And it goes wrong
00:58:24Welcome to the club
00:58:25The parking's great
00:58:27Side of toilets
00:58:27They didn't seem
00:58:31100% heartfelt
00:58:32It's OK
00:58:33It's OK
00:58:34We've got this
00:58:35Let's go
00:58:36Holy night
00:58:39The stars are brightly shining
00:58:43It is the night
00:58:46Of the dear Saviour's birth
00:58:50Long lay the world
00:58:55In sin and error
00:58:57Binding
00:58:59Till he appeared
00:59:01Did you hire them?
00:59:03Yeah, I had a coupon
00:59:03Got them for free
00:59:04Wow
00:59:05Hey, Jamesy
00:59:07Here's the plan
00:59:08OK
00:59:08I'm going to go around
00:59:10The back of that house
00:59:10You're going to go to
00:59:11The front of the house
00:59:11All right
00:59:12When I'm in the back of the house
00:59:12I'm going to take a blowtorch
00:59:13To the head
00:59:14While you get your hand branded
00:59:15Then I'm going to go down
00:59:16To the basement
00:59:16Take a little bit of electricity
00:59:18And you are going to go
00:59:19Through the house
00:59:20Get clapped by a painting
00:59:21Before we catch that little kid
00:59:23And make sure we get him
00:59:24Before he cuts that rope
00:59:25And send us to our death
00:59:26If we pull this off
00:59:35Without any injury
00:59:36Let me tell you
00:59:37They're going to be writing songs about us
00:59:39They're going to be naming parks after us
00:59:42Libraries
00:59:42They're going to be erecting statues
00:59:44In our name
00:59:45And our honour
00:59:46That's beautiful to me
00:59:49Let's get this kid
00:59:51Let's get it
