00:00Day 3 of the Global Public Relations Conference and Festival Malaysia 2025
00:06wrapped up with a strong focus on governance, policy and digital ethics.
00:11The morning's first session featured a panel titled Empathy by Design, Making Tech Human
00:17with experts from Microsoft, Grab and Superposition Technologies
00:21discussing the importance and realities of keeping technology human in an AI-driven world.
00:27I think in terms of where Grab is, we do have our entire, I think, policy and guidelines on AI.
00:36And it's very inclusive. It has to be solving a problem for humanity.
00:42And the technology needs to be accessible for everyone.
00:47So I think in terms of Grab and our engineers and our product engineers, our data scientists,
00:53it is from the get-go. What are you solving for? It has to be for the people.
00:59And you use the AI and tech for the people.
01:02We then received an address by the Digital Ministry Secretary-General, Fabian Bigar,
01:07who was the focal point in outlining Malaysia's direction for ethical and responsible digital policy.
01:12Next up was a panel navigating influence in a synthetic world,
01:16highlighting how AI is reshaping public trust and the challenges of maintaining a safe online environment.
01:23Moving on, if anyone knows how to keep the media on its toes, it's Gen Z.
01:28This session on Voices That Matter, Youth Media and the next era of PR unpacked how exactly PR practitioners
01:35need to rethink engagement, influence and storytelling and why authenticity and genuine human connection remains unbeatable,
01:43even with AI in the mix.
01:46The festival wrapped up on a reflective and inspiring note with a candid fireside chat,
01:50moderated by the chairman of the Public Relations Practitioner Society of Malaysia, P. Kamlan Naden,
01:56featuring Naze Razak, chairman and founding partner of IGLAS Capital,
02:00who stressed a power of authenticity, empathy and the importance of adaptability for organizations.
02:06Empathy is crucial because when you communicate, you guys are PR people,
02:11you must be able to put yourself in the shoes of the people that you are communicating with.
02:17You know, you cannot have the same speech for every audience,
02:20you cannot have the same speech for every individual you lead.
02:23You must empathize, you must understand what makes them tick.
02:29Well folks, that's the end of the festival.
02:32An insightful three days that laid the groundwork for the future of PR practice in Malaysia.
02:38Inspiring professionals to innovate, adapt and lead in a rapidly evolving communications landscape.
