Transcript
00:00The government has lifted a red alert warning for two barrier lakes in Hualien in eastern Taiwan.
00:07The two lakes formed after heavy rains brought by typhoons.
00:11In September, one of the lakes overflowed, sending 60 million tons of water towards a downstream township,
00:17flooding the area and killing at least 19 people.
00:21Subsequent heavy rains formed new barrier lakes and brought even more flooding.
00:25The government says that the barrier lakes have now shrunk and are stable, even though there are still reports of leakage.
