Trump cuts tariffs on beef, coffee, other food items as inflation concerns mount
US President Donald Trump on Nov. 14, 2025 rolls back tariffs on over 200 food items, including staples such as coffee, beef, bananas, and orange juice, amid mounting consumer concerns over grocery costs.
The exemptions, retroactive to midnight Nov. 13, 2025, marked a reversal for Trump, who had previously denied his tariffs contributed to inflation.
Trump also announced a plan to provide $2,000 payments to middle- and lower-income Americans next year, funded by tariff revenues.
The White House said the exemptions, part of trade deals with countries like Argentina and Ecuador, aimed to reduce prices on items not grown or processed in the US.
