00:00The story begins in Denmark during the time of the Vikings.
00:03On top of a mountain, a giant is playing happily with his young child, a little troll.
00:07Suddenly, the chief of a Denmark tribe arrives with his men on horseback, planning to kill the giant.
00:12But before they can reach him, the giant spots them from a distance.
00:15To protect his child, he quickly picks him up and runs toward the other side of the mountain.
00:19However, the chief and his men surround him.
00:21The giant hides his child on the slope of the mountain and then tries to scare the men away instead of fighting them, hoping they will turn back.
00:28But the men do not leave.
00:29They attack him with arrows, spears, and burning torches.
00:32The giant loses his balance and falls from the mountain, dying instantly.
00:36From his hiding place, the little troll watches everything in silence.
00:39Then chief walks to the edge of the mountain and removes his mask.
00:42When he looks down, he spots the young troll.
00:44For a moment, he considers killing the child too.
00:47But because it is only a baby, he decides to leave it alive.
00:50Without telling his men, he turns back and rides away.
00:53The small troll then climbs down the mountain.
00:55Near the sea, he finds the lifeless body of his father.
00:58He tries to drag the body away from the crows and vultures, but it is far too heavy for him.
01:03Finally, he uses a sword to cut the body into pieces and carries them into a cave.
01:08There, he hides the remains and begins living in the cave all alone.
01:12Many years pass and the troll grows up.
01:14But every day when he looks at his father's severed head, he cries in sorrow and remembers him.
01:19Meanwhile, in the Viking tribe of Denmark, a priest performs a religious ceremony for the opening of a new tavern.
01:26He announces to the chief that the tavern is now fully ready.
01:28On the other side, the troll, who has been waiting all these years to take revenge for his father, finally comes out of his cave.
01:35That evening, while some Viking warriors are celebrating inside the tavern, the troll arrives.
01:39He attacks the guard outside, smashing his head, and then enters the tavern.
01:43Inside, he slaughters all the Vikings brutally.
01:46The next morning, the chief comes to the tavern with his men.
01:48The sight shocks him.
01:50The bodies of the Viking warriors who had stayed there overnight are scattered everywhere.
01:54They were all killed in a savage way.
01:56The chief asks his commander,
01:57Where were you when this happened?
01:59The commander replies,
02:00I was in the village.
02:01Some young men stayed here after drinking, but I don't know who killed them so cruelly.
02:06Strangely, no women or elders were harmed.
02:08Hearing this, the chief grows uneasy.
02:10After that, the scene shifts to the Vikings of Geatland, whose leader is Leo, a famous Viking warrior.
02:15As always, they set out on their ships for raids and plundering.
02:18But during their journey, the cold weather forces them to stop near Denmark.
02:22Meanwhile, that night, the Danish chief goes near the mountain with his guard and calls out, challenging the troll.
02:27But as he takes a few steps forward, the troll suddenly appears from behind and strikes the guard on the head, killing him instantly.
02:34From a distance, the chief sees this and charges forward with his sword.
02:37But before he can reach him, the troll runs away.
02:40Then chief cannot understand why the troll never fights him directly and only kills his guards before escaping each time.
02:46The next morning, the whole tribe gathers at the place of the killings.
02:49The chief's wife says to him,
02:51Many of our Viking men have been killed.
02:53What will happen to their widows now?
02:55If this continues, soon only widows will remain in the village.
02:58The chief has no answer and no solution.
03:00Out of shame, he stays silent.
03:02Later, his wife goes to Lena, a woman who lives alone outside the village on the mountain.
03:06She asks her,
03:07You can see death before it comes.
03:09Tell me, will my husband die the same way?
03:11Lena replies,
03:12You all cast me out of the community, calling me corrupt.
03:15And now you come to me asking for help?
03:17The chief's wife says,
03:19What happened to you was not my fault.
03:21Lena answers,
03:21It makes no difference now.
03:23As for your husband, he will not die at the hands of the troll.
03:26Hearing this, the chief's wife quietly returns home.
03:29Meanwhile, the Vikings of Gaitland, under the leadership of Leo,
03:32advance with their ship and land near the settlement where the tribe of Denmark lives.
03:36When a Danish horseman soldier sees them, he warns,
03:39This land also belongs to Vikings.
03:41If you came here to raid, then leave it once.
03:43Leo replies,
03:44I am Leo, the famous Viking warrior.
03:47During our journey, we only wish to rest here for a few days.
03:49We have no plans to raid.
03:51The soldier says,
03:52We have heard much about you.
03:54Come, I will take you to meet our chief, Leo.
03:56And his men meet the chief.
03:57The chief is pleased to see him and says,
04:00The last time I met your father, you were still a child.
04:03Now you have grown into a great warrior.
04:05Leo nods in agreement.
04:06That night, the chief arranges a feast in the tavern for Leo and his men.
04:09The chief's wife herself serves the drinks.
04:11During the feast, Leo asks,
04:13Why are there so many widows here and so few men?
04:16The chief tells him about the troll's nightly attacks.
04:19Hearing this, Leo says,
04:20If the troll comes every night to kill Viking men,
04:23then from now on, my men and I will wait for him.
04:25After the party, the chief, his wife, and the others return home.
04:29But Leo and his warriors, along with a few men of the tribe, remain in the tavern.
04:34At midnight, the troll comes outside the tavern.
04:36First, he sniffs around a priest, then moves to the door,
04:39smelling to check whether the Vikings inside are locals or outsiders.
04:43Inside, Leo and his warriors realize the troll has arrived and quickly prepare for battle.
04:48But the troll senses that the warriors inside are not local Viking.
04:51Instead of entering, he urinates on the closed door.
04:54When the Vikings inside rush out to attack, the troll has already vanished into the night.
04:59The next morning, the chief says to Leo,
05:01It is strange that no man was killed last night.
05:03Leo replies,
05:04Yes, the troll came to the door.
05:06But instead of fighting, he urinated and went away.
05:09After this, Leo sets out with some of his own men and a few from the tribe
05:13to search for the troll in the hills, hoping to kill it.
05:15But after searching many places, they fail to find him.
05:18So they return to the village.
05:19A little later, Leo goes alone to meet Alina, who lives outside the village near the mountain.
05:24He says to her,
05:25I have heard that you can see death before it comes.
05:28Lena answers,
05:28Yes, and I have also heard that you are the famous Viking warrior, Leo.
05:33But why have you come here?
05:34Leo says,
05:34I want to know how many deaths will happen in this fight between the troll and the Vikings,
05:38and if the troll will die or not.
05:40It is important to know because I want to protect your people.
05:43Lena says,
05:43I am not one of these people.
05:45When I was still a child, the chief's nephew brought me here and forced me into a life of shame.
05:50As for your question, yes, I have seen the future.
05:53The troll will be killed, but many Vikings will also die, and the land will run red with blood.
05:57In truth, the people here deserve no better.
06:00Then Leo asks,
06:01Why do you say that?
06:02Lena answers,
06:03Because of what they did to the troll.
06:05This is their punishment.
06:06You should stay away from this matter.
06:07Before Leo can ask more, his men arrive searching for him.
06:10They say,
06:11Evening is approaching.
06:13We need to be ready.
06:14So Leo returns with them to the tribe.
06:16Later, Leo speaks to the chief in private and asks,
06:18Has the troll ever killed a woman, child, or old person?
06:21The chief answers,
06:22No.
06:23He only kills our Viking men.
06:25Leo says,
06:26That means he is intelligent and in a way disciplined.
06:29The chief looks surprised and says,
06:31He is killing our people, and yet you are praising him?
06:34Leo replies,
06:35I am not praising him.
06:36I just think there must be a reason why he only kills men.
06:39Until now, he has not attacked us or your other villagers directly.
06:43The chief then says,
06:4420 years ago, a troll was killed.
06:46Since then, none were seen.
06:48I don't know where this one has come from.
06:49If you are afraid of the troll, then don't fight.
06:52That evening, Leo and his warriors once again wait inside the tavern for the troll.
06:56When they hear the sound of his arrival, they rush outside with swords ready.
07:00But once again, the troll is nowhere to be seen.
07:02Disappointed, they turn back toward the tavern.
07:04At that moment, the troll quietly slips out from behind the rocks and heads back to his hiding place.
07:09The next day, Leo once again goes to see Lena and asks her,
07:13Tell me, how can the troll be killed?
07:14Lena replies,
07:15Why don't you just return home with your men?
07:17Leo answers,
07:18Before I leave, I must know how people can be freed from this troll.
07:21Then Lena takes him into her hut and throws her fortune-telling bones to try to find an answer.
07:26At that moment, Leo hears the troll's voice outside.
07:29He rushes out, but the troll, seeing him, runs away.
07:32Leo jumps on his horse and chases after it.
07:34Before he can reach it, the troll climbs up the mountain.
07:37Lena also follows and arrives there.
07:39Leo calls out to the troll,
07:40If you have courage, come face me.
07:43Why do you keep running away?
07:44The troll answers in its own tongue.
07:46Lena understands and tells Leo,
07:48The troll says his fight is not with you.
07:50You and your men have not harmed him, and that is why he has never attacked you.
07:54Hearing this, Leo is surprised and returns with Lena to her hut.
07:57There, he asks,
07:58Then why does he keep roaming around here?
08:00Lena explains,
08:01The chief's nephew once forced me into a sinful life, but he died in my bed.
08:05People blame me for his death and cast me out of the tribe.
08:08Since then, I have lived here alone.
08:10Many Viking men used to come every night to dishonor me,
08:13but ever since the troll started appearing, none of them dared to come.
08:17That is why I will not help you kill him.
08:19The poor troll has already suffered too much.
08:21After learning this, Leo goes back to the chief and says,
08:24Through Lena, I spoke with the troll.
08:26He told her that the Vikings treated him very cruelly.
08:29That is why he is taking revenge.
08:31The chief looks uneasy and says,
08:33I will talk to you about this later.
08:35As Leo is leaving to return to his men,
08:37he sees a disabled man being beaten cruelly by some children.
08:40Leo drives the children away.
08:42The man then says to him,
08:43My father fought against the troll's father.
08:45That is why the troll killed all the men of my family.
08:48I know where the troll lives.
08:49You and your warriors can go there and kill him.
08:51Hearing this, Leo and his warriors set out by boat toward the mountain where the troll's cave lies.
08:56With the disabled man guiding them, they land near the shore and climb up the mountain until they find the only entrance to the cave.
09:03One Viking tries to climb down, but his foot slips.
09:06The others quickly pull him back up.
09:08After that, none of them have the courage to go inside.
09:10Instead, they urinate near the cave entrance and begin returning to their boat.
09:14But suddenly, from beneath the water, the hidden troll lunges at the Viking, who had urinated near his cave, trying to kill him.
09:21But his companions strike quickly, forcing the troll to retreat back under the water.
09:26The Viking's life is saved.
09:28After this, the group goes back to the tavern and waits all night for the troll.
09:32But this time, the troll does not dare to enter.
09:34The next morning, Leo steps outside and sees that the troll has killed the crippled soldier who showed them the way to the cave.
09:40Shocked, Leo and the Vikings decide to return to the troll's cave.
09:44But this time, they use the robe to reach the entrance cave.
09:47When they enter, they find strange things scattered around.
09:49One Viking breaks the skull of the troll's father and urinates on it.
09:53The troll is not there at the time, but when he returns and finds the broken skull, he immediately understands who entered his cave.
10:00Seeing the insult to his father, the troll becomes furious.
10:03That evening, while the Vikings are asleep inside the tavern, the troll attacks them brutally.
10:08He kills the one who broke his father's skull.
10:10Seeing this, Leo also start fight with troll.
10:13But Leo is too weak compared to the troll.
10:15The troll tries to escape through the roof, but Leo grabs his leg and pulls him down, wrapping a heavy iron chain around his arm.
10:21Angrily, the troll punches Leo and struggles to break free, but his hand gets caught in the chain.
10:26A Viking shoots an arrow at him, but the troll knocks him away.
10:29Before the others can attack, the troll cuts off his own hand to escape.
10:33He runs toward the sea, but doesn't get far.
10:35He collapses and dies on the shore.
10:37Suddenly, his body is dragged away into the sea by some unseen force.
10:41The next day, the Vikings mourn their fallen comrades and burn their body.
10:44Leo turns to the chief and says,
10:46You told me only half the truth.
10:48Now that the troll is dead, at least tell me everything.
10:51The chief admits that they had once killed the troll's father without reason, and now they are all paying the price.
10:56Leo replies,
10:57Because of your thinking, an innocent was killed, but this troll was not like you.
11:02He never harmed the innocent.
11:03Hearing this, the chief feels ashamed.
11:05That night, the Vikings hang the troll's severed hand in the tavern and celebrate, believing the troll is finally dead.
11:12Afterwards, most of them return to their home.
11:14Leo goes to see Lena.
11:15She tells him,
11:16As I said, the troll is gone, but you still have more wounds to suffer.
11:20She then reveals her past.
11:21Years ago, the troll had come to her.
11:23He had been with her once, but after that, he never touched her again.
11:27Strangely, the Vikings stopped harassing her.
11:29She also says, Leo, he was not evil.
11:31He only carried the pain of his childhood.
11:33While talking, Lena and Leo grow closer and end up in each other's arms.
11:37At midnight, the troll's mother storms into the village.
11:40On her way, she kills a priest.
11:42She then enters the tavern and slaughters all the Vikings inside.
11:45She takes her son's severed hand with her.
11:48The next morning, a small boy secretly approaches Lena.
11:50She tells him to stay quiet, then quietly leaves with him.
11:54Meanwhile, the Vikings believe the troll is still alive and responsible for the new killings.
11:58They go hunting for him.
11:59At the seashore, they find another comrade's severed head.
12:03Leo's suspicion grows stronger.
12:04The troll might still be alive.
12:06He rushes into the cave alone, diving through the water.
12:09Inside, he finds the troll's body lying on a rock.
12:12But as he steps closer, the troll's mother suddenly attacks him from behind.
12:16She strangles him, but Leo grabs a stone and smashes it against her head.
12:20Then he seizes a sword and kills her.
12:22At that moment, the young boy arrives with a sword in hand.
12:25Seeing him, Leo realizes the truth.
12:27This boy is none other than the son of Lena and the troll.
12:30Leo lowers his weapon and does not harm him.
12:32Later, Leo returns to the tribe and tells the chief,
12:35I am leaving.
12:35The troll and his mother are truly dead now.
12:38Before going, he meets Lena once more and warns her,
12:40If people find out the troll has a son, they will kill you both.
12:44Lena answers calmly,
12:45This secret will stay only between us.
12:47Saying this, she walks away.
12:49In the end, Leo builds graves for the troll and his mother outside Lena's hut.
12:54But from a distance, the troll's son watches everything with tears.
12:57Then Leo leaves with his men, returning to Gateland.
13:00And that's where the movie ends.
