01:00Alhamdulillah in this holy month of Ramadan a reminder for always myself and Mawlana Shaykh
01:08that this nafs and our reality is broken by four.
01:17There are four enemies that are partitioning the reality of the soul in which Allah wanted
01:24for us and these are the days in which to reflect and to understand that reality and they extract
01:34these realities for their students.
01:38The turuqs and the reality of the turuq when Allah says they feed you from their sustenance
01:43means that they feed you from their knowledges.
01:47And the knowledges of our beloved shiukh they are a food for the soul that if you attend
01:54a majlis that has no knowledge it's like an association with no food.
02:01It's a big secret because we know that the secret is within the food.
02:08Whether it's the physical food that you don't want to go to an association and there's no
02:12physical food so always Mawlana Shaykh said serve food.
02:16But also by example that the association that void of knowledge then it has its own sign.
02:24That there has to be a knowledge there that knowledge there is feeding the souls of people.
02:30Based on how deep they can go into realities is like the coming out and feeding the students
02:38from those realities those students are attracted to those knowledges dressed by those realities
02:44blessed by those realities.
02:46And their knowledges are different than book knowledge schools or scholars who read a book
02:54and they write for you a complete of what they read.
02:59That they have to take you into a practical understanding that how that reality can become a haqqaiq
03:05and a reality for you.
03:07It's not just I read a book and I repeated what I read but how is it going to be implemented
03:14in your life and on your daily existence on this earth and how are you going to rush and
03:19to be developed by that.
03:22One such understanding is the understanding of our soul.
03:27How it has been blocked and partitioned because nothing can come against the soul but like
03:33four blocks upon it from the dunya and all the dunya desires, the hawa and all of the physical
03:41pleasures, the nafs and all the desires of the nafs and the allurement of shaitan and how
03:49shaitan is playing with the body.
03:52You can't talk here, you destruct everything.
03:56And that these four realities are blocking the soul.
04:02And from awliyaullah when they extracted realities from Holy Qur'an that when Sayyidina Ibrahim
04:09was asking from Allah , Ya Rabbi how do you revive the dead?
04:15And this is Khalilullah the dearness and nearness of Allah asking, Ya Rabbi how do you revive
04:21the dead?
04:22And Allah asked, is it that you don't believe that you're asking such a thing?
04:27No Ya Rabbi I believe but I want yaqeen, I want a certainty.
04:32And Allah gave an example to Sayyidina Ibrahim that take that bird and quarter it into four
04:38sections and put a section on each corner and when I give you permission call that bird
04:46back to your presence.
04:47And immediately Sayyidina Ibrahim put the four pieces of the bird and called the bird to
04:53his presence and that bird came to life and flew into his presence.
04:58What awliyaullah understood from that reality is that Allah from malakut and from timeless
05:04realities doesn't care for the bird.
05:07But that bird is symbolic of the soul of the believer.
05:10That the soul of the believer is blocked from what Allah wants for it, wants that soul to
05:17fly.
05:18Means it's coming from malakut and coming from the heavens and is encaged in the physical
05:24world and is oppressed in the physical world.
05:29That which Allah dressed and blessed is being oppressed in dunya.
05:35And that which is the worst means the physical form and the physicality has to do with shaitan.
05:43And satan's rule on this earth is running the body.
05:48So means this angers Allah .
05:50That of mine that is yours from paradise is trapped within that satanic being and all the
05:57satanic desires.
05:58So the seeker's whole path is to destroy the physicality and the grip that the physicality
06:07has upon the ruhaniyat and the spirituality of insan.
06:12So they took from that understanding that yes that we are blocked into four and we are
06:18not able to fly because that block that shaitan is putting upon us.
06:23Means then the servant has to be understanding the hubba dunya and the love of the material.
06:28world which is now at its greatest peak.
06:33That everything is based on the love of the material world.
06:37From the material world is the love of pleasurely desires.
06:41Everything that makes the physicality to be happy.
06:47From every contentment, from every pleasure, from every leisure that we're giving to the
06:53physicality is blocking the soul from its reality.
06:56So it means imagine then this soul like a light and as soon as the dunya desire it begins
07:03to move and block like cutting a sheet through the head of it and blocking that reality.
07:11So then all of the turuqs and all of the way of haqqaiq is how to lower the material desire.
07:18And how to lower the material desire by the zikr and the attendance of zikr and the different
07:23ohrads and the practices that are being given.
07:27Most powerful in these times is dalai al-khirat.
07:29The dalai al-khirat is going to destroy the dunya desire and begin to destroy all the hawa
07:37within the person.
07:39When they are faced with desires that they can't control being anger and sexual lust.
07:46Those can only be controlled by dalai al-khirat and salawat on Prophet ï·º.
07:50Means that the attendance in the zikr has a tremendous cleansing and that's why it's
07:56so difficult to attend the majlis of zikr.
08:00It's not an easy association to attend.
08:03Those who are attending and able to watch via internet, via associations being in the actual
08:09attendance of the zikr is a tremendous ni'mat from Allah, is a tremendous gift from Allah.
08:15Because He's allowing you to attend and to be cleaned which is the biggest cleaning against
08:22the dunya desire of the body.
08:24It's like a swords from paradise because they describe these are the haqqas of paradise
08:30which they are addressed by the angels of paradise.
08:33As soon as the zikr starts the angels begin to attend the association with swords of light
08:40and they begin to spin the swords of light and begin to clean out insan.
08:45What insan doesn't understand is that he's a physical being like a bus.
08:53That we are a physical being like a bus.
08:55That everywhere we go we are picking up passengers that we wanted to pick up but mostly whom we
09:02didn't want to pick up because if you don't have the ability to push your energy and control
09:07your energy and control what's coming on to this bus then you must know.
09:13You must know your body like if you have a car and you drive around with no doors and
09:18go up and down Hastings and go slow.
09:21You see how many of Hastings is like a very poor area with a lot of sort of mentally not
09:27well people.
09:29If you drive around with a car and no doors you'll pick up many passengers and they warn
09:35you on the street there.
09:36Be careful because not only they jump into your car many of want to jump in front of your
09:40car so they can claim insurance claim after you run them over God forbid.
09:45So they have a sign there, be careful, be careful people crossing and they jump into your car.
09:49This is an example of what Allah teaching for us that you're very daeef, you're very weak.
09:56That if you overestimate your strength you've already lost the battle.
10:01That my dunya desires and everything that coming into me I'm all these beings and energies
10:07are jumping into me and overtaking me.
10:10If enough of them jump into the being they begin to alter the energy of the person.
10:16So if we don't understand that we're an energy creation then we fall into difficulty because
10:22you pick enough, you pick enough, you pick enough all these beings begin to come inside
10:26the person.
10:27If you've ever seen a schizophrenic person that's your example.
10:33Schizophrenia means they have completely overtaken the body and overtaken the mind and they begin
10:38to talk to you.
10:40Twenty different people inside that person will begin to talk to you means the passengers have
10:45overtaken the bus driver, they're now in control yelling and screaming.
10:50But any shaykh understands that the firasal that Allah has given to them, Prophet ï·º
10:55had given to them, you must know that the shaykh knows you better than you know yourself.
11:01His shaykh knows all the atomic realities of everything that Allah has given.
11:07But if you're in their presence, your file has been given to them, they know you better
11:12than you know yourself.
11:14Every imtihahn that comes into the center, either the center or via internet, wherever
11:19you're watching, wherever you're looking, your file has been transferred for them.
11:24You have no permission to watch them unless you're under their nazar.
11:30Everything Allah says, everything is in a hisab perfectly accounted for.
11:36There's no randomness with Allah , absolutely no randomness especially for his ibad, for
11:43ibad al-Rahman, for the servants whom Allah under their control that Allah under their
11:49control and they are working for Allah .
11:53Means that if you see them, they see you.
11:56If you see them, your file is with them.
11:59If your file is with them, means that everything in your life is going to be an imtihahn and a
12:05test to reach these realities.
12:08They want to take away these four partitions so that your soul can reach its perfection
12:14and begin to fly the way Allah wants it to fly.
12:19When they make their nazar and make their tafakkur, their soul is free.
12:23So it means that the dunya desire is the strongest right now.
12:28It's constantly under bombardment from shaitan and all the television and every type of desire.
12:34So then the biggest fight against that desire, majlis of zikr, majlis of praising upon Prophet
12:40ï·º, the awrad and the zikr and the wazifahs that you're doing that you praise Prophet ï·º
12:45as much as possible so that you'll be under the nazar of Prophet ï·º.
12:49And that every test is coming is for you, exclusively for you, not for somebody else, for myself.
12:58That I'm understanding everything coming, Allah wants me to understand.
13:04That if I have a character in which I'm critical of everything, they want that to be under control.
13:11Don't be critical of anything.
13:13Don't make judgment upon anything.
13:14This is a big shirk with Allah .
13:17Allah is the best of planners, means every imperfection of our character will come through
13:24those associations, he knows best, who's arrogant, who has pride, who has inability to listen,
13:30who has inability to submit, who has judgment and making association with Allah .
13:39Constantly second thinking and thinking they know best when they don't even know their
13:43selves and they don't know their names in Divine Presence.
13:46How can we be anything when we don't have even any basic information?
13:52That comes against the dunya desire.
13:55Then they come into the hawa of the person and they say that everything that you're putting
13:59upon yourself, that this pleasurely desires have to be brought down.
14:05And that's why then they encourage the difficulty upon oneself.
14:10That implement difficulty upon yourself, be uncomfortable at times, sleep in an uncomfortable position
14:16at times, constantly struggle against yourself so that you can break the bars that are in
14:23caging that soul.
14:25And that's why in all of our culture we always had a bird within a cage.
14:31And many in 50, 60 years ago every bazaar had a bird within a cage.
14:36It was symbolic that that bird is your soul and it's singing so beautifully and it wants
14:42to be free, but this cage and the bars are so tight and so strong that bird will never
14:48be free and dies a prisoner within that body.
14:52And the taruqs come to teach, no, no.
14:54With their teachings, with implementing their teachings those bars will become thin, weakened
15:02and begin to move so that bird is free to fly where Allah wants it to fly.
15:08To drink from Allah's oceans of rahmah, to see from Allah's oceans of rahmah, to be
15:14dressed from those blessings and then come back into the body with all of its knowledges
15:19and all of its realities.
15:22So they begin to teach, be hard upon yourself, sit into positions that are not comfortable
15:26for yourself.
15:27Don't try to live a life of ease because that life of ease is again going to go into
15:34the soul and block everything.
15:36That's why when Ramadan comes and people say, oh you know I'll get a headache by eight o'clock.
15:42But that's good because you don't get a headache any other time.
15:47These times are difficult and when we live a life with everything is resolved by Tylenol
15:53and Advil, we actually experience no difficulty anymore.
15:58That difficulty and that hardship makes us to realize we are alive, we are very much alive
16:05and a little bit of struggling in Allah's way goes a long way in Divinely Presence.
16:11So that struggle is important for us.
16:13Those difficulties and hardships are important for us, that destroys the hawa.
16:19Then the nafs and the understanding that the nafs is the big sharik with Allah .
16:26But everything of the turuqs is based on destroying the nafs.
16:31And that nafs, if you don't destroy it, that is the one that becomes sharik with Allah ,
16:37not the soul.
16:38The soul never goes near that and there's no way to be a partner with Allah .
16:43But the nafs, it wants to be a partner.
16:46It becomes the partner with shaitan to plan against a Rahman.
16:51Means everything it does will come against Allah and come against what Allah wants.
16:58Means that's when you take your path serious and every thought that coming to you begin
17:05to think.
17:06Why I don't want to fast?
17:08It's not for your soul.
17:10It's because your nafs wants to be in charge of your body.
17:14If you give enough for your nafs, it's going to come against Allah .
17:18Why I don't want to give, why I don't want to pray, why I don't want to participate?
17:23It's not the soul.
17:24It's not the soul.
17:26The soul wants to be crushed.
17:28The soul wants that destroy, destroy everything so that we'll be free with Allah .
17:34So anything that's complaining and any voice that coming to you by complaint is the nafs.
17:41And if you become aware and conscious that, why am I complaining now?
17:46That is my nafs.
17:47I can only find fault in everybody but I find no fault in myself.
17:52Oh this is a big zalim, this is like a faraun.
17:57That you can, MashaAllah your eyes so strong that you can see problems of everybody but
18:02you can't see any problems in your own.
18:05It's the worst of character.
18:07My kids can have that character.
18:09That's not a rijaal.
18:11That's not somebody who's developed in Allah's way.
18:15The one who developed in Allah's way inherits from Prophet ï·º.
18:20The Prophet ï·º said, if you find your brother, point 70 excuses for him.
18:25Don't say something bad about your brother.
18:28It's the perfection of character of Prophet ï·º was describing what rijaalullah should be like.
18:35Rijaalullah if they go and they find everything to be horrible, they don't speak a word about
18:41it.
18:42They say, Ya Rabbi there must be something good.
18:45They're all much better than I am.
18:47And that I'm seeing an imperfection that is within me not within them.
18:53Means that never to find something wrong with Allah's creation, Allah created that creation.
19:00The good character and the good Adam that Prophet ï·º wants is inherit from my hadith, inherit
19:06from my way.
19:07They find 70 excuses to excuse them because maybe you're misunderstanding something and don't
19:15get into judging Allah's creation and that is the way.
19:19Now who can achieve that, very few, but that is our understanding that Ya Rabbi let me to
19:26come against my nafs and all my bad characteristics.
19:29That if I don't know myself, how is it that I could know anybody else?
19:33And I'm with myself all the time and I don't know myself.
19:37What are your seven names?
19:39You have a name in each paradise.
19:40What are they?
19:41You don't know your name.
19:42If you don't know your name, how you could comment on other people?
19:47And this one's good, this one's bad, this amal is this, this… you don't know any
19:50of your names.
19:52If you don't know your names, you don't know yourself.
19:54If you don't know yourself, there's no way that you know your Lord.
19:58Again another hadith from Prophet ï·º who knows himself, who knows his Lord.
20:03So if you don't know yourself, you don't know your Lord.
20:06Lordship means you don't know your Rabb.
20:08You don't know what governs you, what is manipulating you, what is oppressing you.
20:14There's no way if you don't know that, how you're going to know Allah Most High?
20:19That's the nafs.
20:20So the way is based on destroying the nafs.
20:23Every time I hear something, you meditate and contemplate.
20:27Why is it like that?
20:28I'm going to come against that.
20:30That why am I making bad whisperings, I'm going to come against that.
20:34Why am I having not clean desires in an association of zikr, I'm going to come against that.
20:40Why am I wanting something when I come into the circle of zikr instead of only wanting
20:46Allah and His Rasul.
20:48If coming into the association and whispering and gossiping and thinking somebody's whispering
20:53about me, somebody's thinking about me, no, no, no, shaitan is playing with you.
20:58Only one you have to focus on is yourself and why you're not reaching your reality.
21:04That is the big struggle.
21:07If the dunya can be fought, if the hawa can be fought and the understanding of the nafs
21:14to be fought and asking for the madad and the support of awliya Allah, then the fight
21:20against shaitan can begin.
21:22At that time only then that fight begins to pursue shaitan until the point where Allah says,
21:29that servant is mukhlas and you have no reach on to them.
21:34When shaitan said, I want to attack your servants from in front of them, to the right
21:38of them, to the left of them, behind them, above them, and below them, Allah says,
21:45attack who you want except my mukhlas, my mukhlas you have no reach upon them.
21:51Means only at that time when Allah sees that the battle is good against the self that that
21:57servant is coming against their dunya desire, coming against their hawa, coming against
22:03their nafs, then Allah grant them a support to come against shaitan and that shaitan's
22:10hand not to reach and not to touch upon them.
22:13Subhanallah Rabbika Rabbil Azzat, amma yasipoon.
22:15Wa salaamun al-mursaleen, wa alhamdulillahi rabbil al-alameen, bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa.
