Homeland Security secretary promises $10K bonuses for select TSA agents who worked during the government shutdown

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem on Thursday promised that TSA agents who continued to work through the shutdown and were unpaid for more than a month will receive a $10,000 bonus.

00:00So today we are announcing that we are going to be handing out bonus checks of $10,000 to TSOs,

00:07to agents who work for TSA, who served with exemplary service.

00:11And what that means is that we are going to not only continue their paychecks like they should have received all along,

00:16but also they're going to get a bonus check for stepping up, taking on extra shifts,

00:21for showing up each and every day, for serving the American people,

00:24and taking seriously the mission that the Department of Homeland Security takes seriously

00:30and that they take seriously every single day, and that's keeping the American people safe.
