00:00Now in Cuba, President Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian aid provided
00:05by the Venezuelan government and confirmed that both countries have begun a joint assessment
00:10to restore the road infrastructure in Santiago de Cuba, one of the provinces most affected
00:15by the recent hurricane Melissa.
00:17During the television program La Mesa Redonda, the President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel reported
00:22that reconstruction after the hurricane will focus on the southern coast of the province
00:27of Santiago de Cuba.
00:28The head of state noted that teams of specialists from Cuba and Venezuela conducted the technical
00:34assessment in the field and this joint assessment was key to identifying the areas most severely
00:40affected and establishing priorities for action.
00:44Authorities will give priority to the most critical areas in order to speed up their recovery and
00:48return to normality for the population.
00:52And Aylin, I also want to highlight the meeting I had before joining the Round Table and the
01:04meeting with the Provincial Defense Council that we experienced, which was sharing with
01:09a team of constructors from the Sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which was sent by our
01:15brother President Majuro led by a deputy minister, and which has worked together with our troops
01:21and the Ministry of Construction and Transportation to conduct a survey of the state of the roads.
01:27An assessment of the state of the roads and work is already underway on projects to recover,
01:33and the joint participation of Venezuelans and Cubans.
01:40A group of damaged areas here in Santiago de Cuba, and that is where the true expression of the brotherhood
01:47and solidarity of two revolutions lies. A country under the threat of invasion does not forget
01:54its brothers, and here it is also collaborating. I believe that from here we must be grateful
02:00for the continuous and timely solidarity of the brotherly people of Venezuela and also
02:06of its leadership, in particular our brother President Nicholas Majuro.
