00:00You have deemed that it's a terrorist attack by Jaishin Mohammed and a doctor was involved.
00:05Do you think you advocate for a strong punishment?
00:09Look, I think at this stage I don't want to second guess what the government will do,
00:13but very clearly a terrorist attack is something that cannot go unpunished.
00:19The government has already said they will hunt down the perpetrators
00:22and we know that some of them have even died in the process of the blast.
00:28Some theories are that much more was planned and some of that has been prevented
00:35and I think we should be grateful for that.
00:37But what is extremely important is for us to preserve and protect the security and safety of our citizens
00:45in the weeks and months to come.
00:50Jaishin Mohammed was a legitimate target when we conducted Operation Sindhur.
00:56Terrorist groups have absolutely no impunity and no protection from those who want to protect civilian lives.
01:08As far as I'm concerned, I certainly respect the government's finding that it was a terrorist attack.
01:14They would not do so without evidence and they have collected the evidence systematically before making this conclusion.
01:20So I think it is important that we stand on this issue unitedly and that we, all of us, ensure that we are keeping our eyes and ears open,
01:31that those citizens of India who get any wind of such tendencies developing in their areas, in their homes, in their communities, wherever,
01:42should cooperate with the law and our authorities.
01:45Safety and security of our country and our people, very, very essential.
01:50So beyond that, let me not go, let us see what further the government establishes.
01:56I'm sure their work is continuing. Let's wish them well.
01:58Do you think the government should undertake some action to expose terrorism internationally?
02:04They've already talked about some of the actions they're taking.
02:08Let us wait and watch and see.
02:10As far as international action is concerned, I think it is premature right now to talk about that.
02:16We stand on the global stage against terrorism.
02:19We have repeatedly, as you probably know, advocated the conclusion of an international convention against terrorism,
02:26which we have been the prime movers of at the United Nations.
02:30The fact, for whatever reason, that has not made the progress it needs to.
02:34But beyond that, what we need to do, I think there are some issues on which we must leave it to those who are in government,
02:42who have access to all the information and who are collecting more information,
02:45to share with the public when they feel that they're ready.
02:48I think there are some issues on which we must leave it to those who are in government,
02:52who have access to all the information and who are collecting more information,
02:56to share with the public when they feel that they're ready.
