Transcript
00:00For two and a half centuries the Marine Corps has stood as the vanguard of
00:04freedom. Every engagement, every objective secured, every hill taken has built a
00:12legacy. A legacy of unwavering dedication, profound sacrifice, and a relentless
00:22determination. For 250 years we have kept a promise forged in courage, hardened by
00:29sacrifice, and bound by an unwavering commitment to each other and our nation.
00:37I promise to be the first to fight.
00:45In 1775 Marines just like many of you have shaped the resolve and strength of
00:51the United States. Your role is as important today as at any time in our
00:55history.
00:59Throughout the years, the character of war has changed. One thing remains
01:06constant, our warrior spirit.
01:09The Marine Corps in its 249th, soon to be 250th year, still sets a standard. Every Marine should
01:20be incredibly proud of and I say that as a soldier.
01:22We overcome and close with and destroy the enemy.
01:27General Chuck Krulak said the Marine Corps does two things. It wins battles, it wins wars, and it makes the Marines.
01:34Happy 250th birthday Marines.
