00:01Ben Richards, 35.
00:04Married one child in medical crisis.
00:07We need money for a doctor now.
00:09Ben, watch yourself.
00:12Employment status, blacklisted.
00:15But there's still a way out for you.
00:19It's the biggest show in the country.
00:23Bloodlust is our birthright!
00:28Set it free!
00:30Welcome to The Running Man!
00:32The reality is that we're really basing this on the Stephen King book.
00:37It's like one of the things that even Arnold talks about,
00:40which is when he made his movie in 87,
00:45practically, it's really tough.
00:48This movie takes place out in the real world.
00:50Our game is where the entire world is hunting one man.
00:55And they sort of had to isolate it to a television studio,
00:58almost like American Gladiators.
01:00I guess you guys had like British Gladiators, right?
01:02Yeah, something like that.
01:03Something like that.
01:04So they had to sort of isolate it in a different way
01:06to just make it more practical to shoot.
01:08Ours kind of takes it out, which is, it's a lot more...
01:11we saw for logistical reasons.
01:13It's very tough.
01:14It's a tough movie to shoot.
01:16This is why you can win this game.
01:18The rules are simple.
01:19Survive 30 days.
01:21The entire nation hunting you down.
01:25And get your family out of slum side for good.
01:27Two stages to that is he loved the screenplay,
01:31which was really important to us
01:33because we had done an adaptation of the book
01:35and, you know, even though it's more faithful,
01:37we had made some changes as well.
01:39And so Stephen, you know, like,
01:42had to sign off on the screenplay and really loved it
01:45and loved what we kept and loved what we changed
01:47and, you know, but that's fantastic for me
01:49because I'm such a fan of his.
01:51But then also it creates a new pressure
01:53because now I have to live up to that.
01:58Hey, buddy.
01:59You're on Free-V.
02:02Yeah, yeah!
02:06You better run!
02:11I've got a grenade!
02:14Back at you.
02:15Back at you.
02:25I'm still here, you shit-eaters.
