00:30Well, like most of us, I imagine we've been a little high with stories of all sorts.

00:44And I had the chance that my mother loved Andersen and she read very early the stories of Andersen,

00:49which are sometimes very cruel, but in the same time very beautiful, very fascinating,

00:56full of images and full of initiation, so I've always tended to make films that are contes,

01:04because it's a way, I think, of going to a deep place for me, rather than going to go from reality,

01:11really, even if it's always on the limit, and then I think that all my films are stories of maturation,

01:19of proofs that make them grow up, so it's a form that fits well, and I love the poetry and the complexity of Andersen in particular.
