Willy the Hillbilly was Mountain Dew's original mascot, first appearing in the 1940s. In the commercials, he was voiced by legendary country artist Grandpa Jones. He was featured on Mountain Dew packaging until 1969. He later appeared on Dewshine and Throwback's packaging.
