00:00After falling to an all-time low of just 16,000 concurrent players on Steam, Destiny 2's
00:06unstable cores are being removed entirely.
00:09They were introduced in the Edge of Fate expansion as the new infusion fodder, used to increase
00:13the power level of a piece of gear, because, you know, Bungie is physically incapable of
00:18not releasing new currencies.
00:21But this one proved particularly problematic, and lots of people complained.
00:25High-level infusion will cost thousands of cores, while the game's battle pass would
00:29only hand out dozens.
00:31Virtually everyone hated this on site, but luckily Bungie has finally seen sense.
00:36It said,
00:37We have landed on a plan to fully depreciate this currency.
00:40Once depreciated, infusion will cost an amount of enhancement cores and glimmer.
00:44With that in mind, cores are being removed, though Bungie does not have a release timeline
00:49for this yet, and a one-time bonus of 777,777 cores is being handed out to smooth things over
00:57for now.
