00:33She admitted that any increase in the current public transportation fare would have a huge impact on her daily budget.

00:48During the public consultation conducted by the LTFRB, the proposed fare increase for public utility vehicles was presented and discussed.
00:55The consultation is aimed at presenting the basis for the proposed fare adjustments, gather opinions from stakeholders,
01:03and ensure transparency and public participation in the decision-making process.
01:08This initiative is part of the LTFRB's effort to address over 37,000 pending petitions and motions.

01:27At present, the minimum fare is 13 pesos for traditional jeepneys and 15 pesos for modern jeepneys.
01:33It is being proposed to raise this to 15 pesos and 17 pesos respectively for the first 4 kilometers.
01:40For airport taxis, the current flag down rate of 75 pesos for the first 500 meters is proposed to increase to 100 to 150 pesos.
01:51For public utility buses operating within cities, the proposed increase is from 13 to 15 pesos for ordinary units
01:59and from 15 to 17 pesos for air-conditioned units for the first 5 kilometers.
02:04For provincial operations, the rate of 11 pesos is proposed to increase to 12 pesos and 67 centavos for the first 5 kilometers.
02:15Meanwhile, for the point-to-point buses, operators are requesting a 30% fare increase from the current regular fare.
02:23For transportation network vehicle services, the base fare is proposed to rise from 35 to 55 pesos to 55 to 75 pesos.
02:32The last approved fare increase was in September 2022.
