00:00The former Secretary of Department of Public Works and Highways, Manuel Bonoan, has left the country for the United States via Taiwan.
00:07This is what the Bureau of Immigration confirmed in a statement.
00:11According to reports, Bonoan was covered by an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order, or ILBO, which was issued earlier by the Department of Justice, or DOJ.
00:20However, when immigration officers coordinated with the DOJ during the encounter, it was confirmed that there is no whole departure order or warrant of arrest in effect.
00:30That is why he was cleared to fly.
00:33The DOJ clarifies no law was violated in Bonoan's departure, and his travel reason was to accompany his wife for a medical procedure in the U.S.
00:43Bonoan is allowed to stay in the U.S. until December 17.
00:46The DOJ also assures continued monitoring on Bonoan's movements.
