00:00One of the first things you'll probably ask when booting up Arc Raiders is what in the world do all these menus do?
00:05Let's break it down tab by tab so you can better understand how to navigate all these options.
00:14At the very top left of your screen under the play tab, you have your feats.
00:18These are your tasks that reset on a timer to get you cred.
00:22This is the currency you'll use to buy items in the battle pass otherwise known as your Raider deck.
00:26We'll cover all of that once we get to the Dex tab.
00:30Right underneath your feats are your current quests.
00:32These are missions that you get from in-game traders that advance the story, give you new equipment, and help you learn different mechanics.
00:39These quests are a great trail to follow in your early hours with Arc Raiders before you become more self-guided.
00:44On the bottom right of this screen, you can launch into a map and choose whether or not you want a matchmake to fill your squad or go topside solo.
00:52Once you hit the play button, you'll enter map selection.
00:54You only start with Damned Battlegrounds but will unlock more as you continue to play.
00:58Pay close attention to the right side of the screen as you'll see the difficulty of the current map,
01:03the time left before a new event rotates to that map, and the current event that map features.
01:08Next to each map node, you'll see hard mode maps such as Night Raid and Electromagnetic Storm that vastly increases the danger you'll face,
01:15but also the rewards you can earn.
01:18Once again, check the pane on the right to see exact details of what that map variant may offer.
01:22As of now, four maps are available once you unlock them.
01:26Damned Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, and the Blue Gate, and you'll unlock them in that order.
01:32They're currently teasing us with the fifth Stellamontis, which will become available at a later date.
01:37Before we move on, on the top right, these appear on every tab so we'll just mention them here,
01:42you have your various currencies.
01:43The white currency is your coins, the money you'll use to buy equipment and expand your stash.
01:48The blue currency is your creds, which we mentioned earlier will unlock items inside your deck.
01:53And the yellow currency is your raider tokens, the premium currency you spend real money for.
01:58These allow you to buy new premium decks once they become available,
02:02and special cosmetics you'll find in the store tab and the raider customization menu.
02:06Finally, next to all those, you have your raider level and the XP needed to gain a new one.
02:11When you gain a level, you receive a skill point you can use in the skill tree.
02:14Your level also gates a few menu options like your codex and trials, which we'll also get to later.
02:22The next tab over is your workshop, where you'll craft equipment that you'll need while topside.
02:27The first box at the bottom of the screen is for Scrappy,
02:30a rooster that will passively collect materials for you while you're out on missions.
02:34Scrappy can also be upgraded using various materials that you'll see when you click Train inside of his menu.
02:40Next to Scrappy are the areas in which you can build out different workshop benches,
02:43which each allow you to craft new categories of equipment.
02:47What you can craft from each bench will expand as you find blueprints for specific equipment while topside,
02:52extract with them, and then select Learn and Consume.
02:55Once you've built the benches, you can continue to upgrade them to allow you to craft more high-value blueprints.
03:01When tabbing over any particular equipment piece, or when selecting a bench upgrade,
03:05you can choose to track resources for that build,
03:08which will add a little eyeball icon to resources you'll need,
03:11as well as add the item to your logbook while in Speranza,
03:14and your map screen while topside.
03:16Here's a quick overview of what all of them offer.
03:18This is just the order in which I built them,
03:20so this menu may look a bit different on your screen,
03:23but they all still function as described.
03:25Your workbench gives you starter augments and shields,
03:28simple weapons, ammo, and other basics.
03:31Most things available at the workbench have better versions and more specialized benches,
03:35but you'll be using this one a lot initially.
03:37The gunsmith allows you to craft more specialized weapons as you upgrade it and find more blueprints,
03:42as well as specific weapon mods that slot in as different attachments.
03:46You can also tab over inside this tab to upgrade each of your weapons.
03:50The exact benefit you get from these upgrades will be denoted in the pane on the right.
03:54The gear bench contains more powerful augments and shields than what you saw in the workbench.
03:59The higher quality augment passives in particular add extra benefits aside from just higher inventory capacity
04:04and shield slot quality.
04:07At the explosive station, you...
04:09Well, you craft explosives.
04:11Not sure what else I can tell you here, but...
04:13Trigger nades are really cool.
04:15The refiner offers items commonly used to craft other items.
04:19This is where all the fabric, chemicals, and miscellaneous parts you collect will come in handy,
04:23so you can build parts you actually need for other benches.
04:26The medical lab lets you craft different kinds of bandages,
04:29shield rechargers, and adrenaline shots to keep yourself and others alive.
04:32And finally, the utility station allows you to craft equipment that doesn't quite fit in other categories.
04:38Things like binoculars, door blockers, and zip lines.
04:44The raider tab, like the workshop tab, contains a few different sub-menus, all concerning your current raider.
04:50The skill tree, which you earn points for by leveling up your raider,
04:53has three branches, including conditioning, mobility, and survival.
04:57As of today, there's no way to respec your current raider.
05:00You'd have to send them on an expedition and start a new raider over.
05:03More on that later.
05:04So make sure you read the skills up the tree carefully,
05:06as many require a ton of points in lower levels to ascend to the more powerful skills.
05:11The customization menu allows you to change the look of your raider,
05:14your outfit, emotes, and even Scrappy's getup.
05:18Who doesn't want a big daddy Scrappy?
05:20You can also purchase premium cosmetics right from this menu,
05:23rather than just going to the store tab.
05:25The trials menu, which unlocks at raider level 15,
05:28provides you with specific challenges to unlock in-game cosmetics and emotes.
05:32These specific challenge categories reset on a weekly timer,
05:35while your seasonal trial ranking resets on a seasonal timer.
05:39There are also leaderboards to compare yourself with other raiders.
05:41The projects menu lets you build towards expeditions,
05:45which unlock once you reach raider level 20.
05:47Expeditions are Arc Raider's prestige mechanic.
05:50You bank resources over time to send your raider away on an expedition,
05:54basically retiring them,
05:55and then start over on a new character,
05:57all governed by a real-world schedule.
06:00Sending your raider on an expedition resets everything related to a specific raider's progress,
06:05such as their level, skills, their inventory, crafting capabilities, and so on,
06:09while letting you keep things like trials, unlocked maps, and workshop stations,
06:13and any kind of cosmetic you paid real money for.
06:17Every time you retire a raider,
06:18you'll get new buffs until the next expedition window,
06:20unique cosmetic rewards,
06:22and account-wide buffs that will benefit all your future raiders.
06:26And last in the raider menu, we have the Codex, which unlocks at level 5.
06:30The Codex's World Book tab gives you a ton of in-game information on lore,
06:33quests, maps, and even the drones you'll be fighting.
06:36Reading up on enemy behaviors or weak points can be life-saving,
06:40so be sure to check it out.
06:41The other tab inside the Codex also lets you see all your player stats,
06:45including time spent topside,
06:47year-round history,
06:48and how much damage you've inflicted on certain enemy types.
06:54The Traders tab contains all the NPCs you'll interact with while in Speranza.
06:58You can trade items, purchase goods,
07:00and accept and turn in quests from all of them.
07:02You can trade assorted seeds to Celeste for crafting materials,
07:06and spend coins to purchase items from everyone else.
07:09Shawnee provides you with utility items like binoculars and hatchkeys,
07:12Tianwen sells you guns, gun mods, and ammo,
07:15Apollo offers various explosives and gadgets,
07:18and Lance provides medical items, augments, and shield rechargers.
07:22As mentioned before, decks are Arc Raider's battle passes.
07:28Inside a particular deck,
07:29you can spend creds you earn from completing feats to unlock cosmetics,
07:32and raider tokens, the premium currency.
07:35You have to spend a certain amount of creds on each page of a deck to unlock the next page.
07:40On the right side of the decks page,
07:41there's a full pane for your feats,
07:43and the times on which they'll reset.
07:44The store tab is where you'll spend raider tokens to unlock premium cosmetics.
07:52Inside the different selections are specific items you can buy if you don't want the whole bundle,
07:56but buying the bundle will get you all of them at a discounted rate.
08:02At almost any point while you're in another tab,
08:04you can press the button or key shown on the bottom left of the screen to open up your inventory.
08:09Your inventory contains everything your current raider has earned or collected,
08:12and there's a few things to learn about this screen.
08:15On the far left pane,
08:16you can choose to sort by type of item,
08:18and then sort again by particular values inside that item set.
08:21You can also merge stacks of the same item if they're split up,
08:24and you need to consolidate space,
08:26or move everything from your backpack into your inventory.
08:29Above these buttons,
08:30you can also spend coins,
08:31the currency earned in-game,
08:33to expand your inventory space.
08:35In the right pane,
08:36you have your loadout,
08:37which is what you'll be taking with you topside
08:38if you choose custom loadout after choosing your map.
08:41If you choose free loadout,
08:42you won't be risking what's in your current custom loadout,
08:45just whatever the free loadout randomly gives you.
08:48If you check the bottom of the inventory screen,
08:50you can see a few shortcuts.
08:52Show tooltip pops up a giant window of information
08:54that shows you what the item is,
08:56what it does,
08:56and how it's categorized in the inventory.
08:59Also, it's rarity,
09:00durability,
09:01value,
09:01and weight.
09:03Keep in mind these little symbols as well,
09:04since those will help you categorize items at a glance over time.
09:07Clicking the action shortcut pops up a list of things you can do with an item,
09:11including selling them right from your inventory.
09:13You can also multi-select items on console by holding L2 and pressing X on PlayStation,
09:18or the left trigger and A on Xbox.
09:21On PC, just use the control key.
09:23After selecting something,
09:24you can also press the shown button to split half of the stack
09:27if you only want to move, recycle, or sell some of them.
09:31And finally,
09:31you can quick move items from your inventory into your loadout,
09:34or vice versa,
09:35by pressing the shown button here.
09:37If your inventory is full,
09:39the items won't move over from your loadout.
09:41Inside the inventory,
09:43there are two more tabs.
09:44The first is your logbook,
09:45which keeps track of your current quest progress,
09:48as well as the resources you're tracking.
09:50Keep in mind,
09:51these tracked resources won't show up in the logbook while you're topside,
09:54but they will show up in your topside map screen.
09:57Instead,
09:57your topside logbook will show feats and trial progress while above ground.
10:02On the final inventory tab,
10:03you have your system menu,
10:05which lets you change options and manage your party,
10:07friends,
10:08and recent players.
10:10And that's all you need to know about the menus in our creators.
10:13Thanks for watching,
10:14and keep it locked to IGN.
