00:00There's a civil war brewing in the Democratic Party.
00:03And before I get into the nuts and bolts of reopening the government,
00:06I want to tell you about the absolute meltdown going on with the Democrats.
00:12The vote that busted the filibuster keeping the government closed on Sunday night
00:16included eight Democrats and 52 Republicans.
00:19We have support from enough Democrats, and we're going to be opening up our country.
00:24It's too bad it was slow, but we'll be opening up our country very quickly.
00:27Now, it's worth noting that two of those eight Democrats are retiring after next year,
00:32and the other six are not up for re-election in 2026.
00:36So that might explain their willingness to cross the aisle.
00:40All eight are also more ideological centrist,
00:43and their vote enraged the more progressive wing of the party,
00:47who believe after 40 days of a hot mess, they walked away with nothing.
00:52But the far-left members aren't training their anger at their colleagues.
00:55Instead, they have just one target, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who voted no.
01:01California Congressman Ro Khanna posted on X,
01:04quote,
01:05Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced.
01:08If you can't lead the fight to stop health care premiums from skyrocketing for Americans,
01:13what will you fight for?
01:14And some progressive Senate hopefuls planning to run in the 2026 midterms shared similar sentiments.
01:19Even Stephanie Shaheen, who's running for Congress in New Hampshire, she bashed the vote.
01:25Why is that significant?
01:27The sitting senator from the Granite State who voted yay is Jean Shaheen.
01:32Yeah, her mother.
01:33It's all more evidence that the party is more or less rudderless right now.
01:38The high fives and pats on the back last week after the elections have just
01:42not solved the problem of what the Democratic Party stands for or who's leading it.
01:47President Trump is threatening the BBC with a $1 billion lawsuit over doctored footage of
01:53the speech he gave on January 6th, 2021, before the Capitol riot.
01:57A whistleblower told the Telegraph newspaper that editors spliced together two clips of Trump
02:03where he says, quote,
02:04We're going to walk down to the Capitol and then
02:06I'll be there with you and we fight.
02:09We fight like hell.
02:10Now, those two statements occurred 50 minutes apart,
02:13but putting them together makes it look like he pretty directly instructed supporters to
02:18storm the Capitol.
02:19The manipulated footage was included in an episode of the program Panorama.
02:23BBC Director General Tim Davey and BBC News CEO Deborah Ternis have already resigned.
02:29In a letter obtained by The Post, the president's legal team has given the BBC until Friday at 5
02:33p.m. to, quote, retract the false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements made
02:39about President Trump.
02:40BBC Chair Samir Shah issued a statement to a UK Parliamentary Committee apologizing for the,
02:47quote, error in judgment that led to the clip.
02:49The International Olympic Committee is reportedly ready to ban transgender women from competing in
02:55all female categories.
02:57The Times of London reports that the change is set to be announced early next year.
03:00Under the current policy, trans women have been allowed to compete in the female category
03:05as long as tests reveal reduced testosterone levels.
03:08But the final decision has always rested with the individual sports.
03:12Now, exactly how that policy will be changed?
03:16Unclear at the moment.
03:17In fact, an IOC spokesperson denied that a decision has even been made.
03:21They did confirm to The Post, however, that the IOC conducted a science-based review
03:26of the athletic advantages of competitors who are born biologically male.
03:30The findings of that study were presented in a closed-door meeting last week.
03:34The big question now is whether these new rules, if they are released in the coming months,
03:39would be enforced for the Winter Olympics in Italy that begin this February.
