Typhoon Fung Wong has killed at least two people and displaced over a million people as it passed through the Philippines. The storm, which could become the first in nearly six decades to make landfall in Taiwan in November, has heightened the threat from a barrier lake that breached twice and led to flash floods in September.

00:01A once-famous island retreat in northeastern Philippines was submerged by huge waves in a split second.
00:08Typhoon Fongong, the second typhoon to hit the country in two weeks, made landfall on Sunday,
00:13killing at least two people and displacing close to a million residents.
00:18I was not able to sleep last night. I told my grandchildren to pray for our safety.
00:23I was just sitting the whole night waiting for the storm to pass.
00:26The typhoon has moved on from the Philippines and is now heading toward Taiwan's southwest.
00:32While still a few thousand kilometers from Taiwan, the storm's outer edge has already hit the country's east.
00:41In Hualien, where past storms led to a barrier lake breach and flash floods that inundated homes and fields,
00:47authorities have sounded the highest-level alarm and called for evacuation in three townships along the river on Sunday.
00:54The forestry agency, which monitors the barrier lake,
00:58predicts the region will have up to 800 millimeters of rain per hour,
01:02far exceeding the 200 millimeters required for the red alert.
01:07And with water levels nearing that of September's disaster,
01:10officials aren't ruling out the risk of another flood.
01:13After over a month and a half since the flood disaster,
01:31most of the town has been cleaned up.
01:33But local residents fear that the looming storm will cause new destruction.
01:36Meanwhile, in the southeastern county of Taitung,
01:48rice and banana farmers are rushing to harvest their unripe crops
01:52before the storm causes irreversible damage.
01:54Typhoon season in Taiwan usually ends in October.
02:06If Typhoon fongong makes landfall,
02:09it will be the country's first November typhoon in nearly six decades.
02:13With extreme weather events becoming more frequent and disastrous,
02:17it's a never-ending cycle of cleanup and recovery for the Pacific Island countries.

02:33Let's move on to the beach.
02:33There is another place to go to the beach.
02:35I don't know.
02:37We recommend the sun to show you why it is going to go to the beach.
02:40In the area of the over-the-the-the-the-the-the-dowel area,
02:42we recommend the beach.
02:43We recommend the beach as a nice place to go to the beach.
02:46A little high-slightly quiet place to go to the beach.
