00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03Antonio, you're in.
00:05Casey, that means you're out.
00:07Ethan, as the winning designer,
00:09you're gonna have an opportunity to swap.
00:11I'm going to swap Jesus with Madeline.
00:16I'm happy Ethan let go Jesus
00:19because I don't need drama.
00:22Each house must create an activewear capsule collection.
00:25I'm gonna tear it up.
00:27But what if your team doesn't?
00:29Ethan, I think you knew that you had a great look
00:31and you didn't give a about the other people on the team.
00:34Jesus, you were our favorite look. Congratulations.
00:37You shut me up.
00:39But I do have to tell you, Antonio,
00:41yours was our least favorite in the winning team.
00:44It sucks.
00:45Angelou, you really need to bring in a sense of drama.
00:49Step it up.
00:50I think it kind of looks like a tampon.
00:53I mean, this is unwearable.
00:55I love a corset.
00:56At the sauna.
00:57Guys, the story has to match.
00:59You cannot piss on me and tell me it's raining.
01:04A date for the winner is $200,000,
01:07a spread in Elle magazine,
01:09and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:12This is Project Runway.
01:14Project Runway.
01:21Angelo, Alex, and Vijay,
01:24you're all disappointed this week.
01:27I know that my work is better than the both of them,
01:30so they need to go home first before me.
01:33Vijay,
01:34you're safe.
01:35You're safe.
01:36You can leave the runway.
01:37Oh, my God.
01:39Thank you for the sanctions.
01:47Alex, your construction left a lot to be desired,
01:51and you missed the mark.
01:52I adore Angelo, but I have a lot more to offer.
01:57I don't want to go home.
01:59Angelo, in this competition,
02:02you have to remember that showmanship
02:04is just as important as craftsmanship.
02:06All I'm thinking is I need this for my daughter.
02:11I cannot go home this early.
02:16Alex,
02:17Angelo,
02:18one of you will be in,
02:19and one of you will be out.
02:24Angelo,
02:27you're in.
02:28You can leave the runway.
02:30Thank you, Gus.
02:37I'm sorry, Alex.
02:38That means you're out.
02:41Auf Wiedersehen.
02:43It was lovely to meet all of you.
02:44Good luck.
02:46Well, it's not fun to be the second person going home.
02:50That's for sure.
02:53No, I deserve it.
02:54I really do.
02:55It's not...
02:56No.
02:57It's not a good example of my work.
02:59Is it going to be like this each week?
03:01this shit.
03:02Yeah.
03:03off.
03:05You know,
03:06I don't disagree with the feedback that the judges had.
03:09This is an incredible, fun experience
03:12that I've been able to have.
03:14Alex! Alex! Alex!
03:16Wow!
03:18What's next is we're going to go home.
03:20We're going to have a sauna.
03:24And life will continue on.
03:29You guys ready to get pushed a little harder?
03:31Yes.
03:32We're ready.
03:33I think until now there really hasn't been any clear leaders in either challenge.
03:39So I think we're going to blow it up.
03:41Uh-oh.
03:42So Ethan and Jesus, for winning the first two challenges,
03:46each of you are going to become the leaders of your own house.
03:51Oh my God.
03:52Another team challenge.
03:53I don't want to be on either team.
03:54I just can't wait to work by myself without thinking about other people.
04:09You'll be picking your team shortly and choose wisely.
04:13I'm so excited.
04:14Good luck!
04:15See you soon!
04:16The team is hot, Ethan!
04:21I always wanted to start my own house.
04:24This is insane.
04:26Such a twist.
04:27Honestly, I feel like it's going to be a tough competition
04:30because I know how talented Ethan is.
04:32Oh, the shape!
04:33It's going to be a battle.
04:35What is that?
04:44It's a great challenge.
04:47It's time to pay.
04:49So things about to get spicy.
04:56Hello, designers.
04:59I'm sure you guys are wondering, what are these bags?
05:02Yes.
05:03Each of these bags are fabrics that I would say are considered...
05:08boring.
05:10So PNC Bank believes whether it's managing your money responsibly
05:14or sewing the same stitch for hours,
05:16actions that seem boring are essential to create brilliant results.
05:21So in these bags are basic fabrics and textiles.
05:25Seen on a bolt or a design table, they might be considered...
05:28But when slowly and thoughtfully designed and fabricated,
05:33something boring transforms into something beautiful.
05:37So the two houses will select from three mystery bags of boring
05:41to inspire brilliant looks on the runway.
05:43Ethan and Jesus, you have the power to choose your houses.
05:47My strategy is to pick designers that are great tailors.
05:51I definitely want my twin brother and my team
05:53because I know how good we work together.
05:55But I'm thinking Ethan, strategy-wise, might take him away from me.
05:59Jesus and Antonio love to be heard.
06:04I'm going to try to keep all of the firecracker energy out of my group.
06:09We're going to flip a button to decide who picks first.
06:12Good luck.
06:14Ah!
06:15It's Ethan.
06:16Ethan.
06:17Oh, wow.
06:18All right.
06:19My first pick...
06:22is each other.
06:24Thank you, baby.
06:26My first pick is going to be Antonio.
06:29Of course.
06:30Hello!
06:32Ethan, you're next.
06:33Joseph McRae.
06:37Madeline.
06:40Ms. John!
06:41Angela!
06:44BJ.
06:47I am shocked Jesus picked me because we don't really get along.
06:52Oh, my God.
06:53Lord.
06:56Angelo.
06:59Baby.
07:01I've always been picked last.
07:04Melania.
07:05But it's fueling me to show
07:08I'm actually the special sauce.
07:10I got all the skills.
07:11You just don't know it yet.
07:13Because Ethan got to pick first.
07:15Mm-hmm.
07:16It's only fair if Jesus picks first the bag of lorings.
07:19I was born with a pack of two, so I'm going to pick two.
07:23Okay.
07:24Let's see.
07:25Oh.
07:27This is your fabric.
07:31Fun.
07:32What do you think?
07:33I like it.
07:34It's a gray wool.
07:35We can make this fabric look really expensive.
07:39They can have it all day, every day.
07:41That's ugly.
07:42There's barely any stretch on it.
07:45Keep it.
07:46We don't want it on this side.
07:47All right, Ethan.
07:48I'm going to choose number one.
07:49Okay.
07:50Let's see.
07:51Please be better.
07:52Please be better.
07:53Please be better.
07:54Looks like...
07:55Denim.
07:56Denim!
07:57All right.
07:58Denim is so versatile.
08:00It is classic.
08:01It can be modern.
08:03We got the best material.
08:04So now that you have the foundations for this challenge,
08:07each house must create a capsule collection
08:10that shows that boring can be brilliant.
08:12This is about exploring volume, textures,
08:14and a bit of innovation.
08:16But anything here can be fresh,
08:18including a basic bag of boring.
08:21Hmm.
08:22And I have a special twist.
08:24My very dear friend Sofia Vergara
08:26will wear the winning look.
08:27Woo!
08:28Woo!
08:29Woo!
08:30Woo!
08:31Woo!
08:32So you guys better come up with something fabulous
08:34or she will never talk to me ever again.
08:36Oh, I can't wait.
08:37I want to win this challenge.
08:39I'm so ready.
08:40Last week, Heidi said that my look wasn't her favorite.
08:43I kind of want to redeem myself.
08:45We have Sofia Vergara, the princess of Colombia.
08:49This is Estrada, girl.
08:50This is what we love to dress.
08:51Let's do this.
08:52You guys will have until the end of tonight
08:55and three hours tomorrow to make these collections.
08:58Oh, my God.
08:59Another one-day challenge.
09:00Ah.
09:01This is Project Runway, and it will never be easy.
09:04Good luck making boring brilliant.
09:07See you on the runway.
09:08Here we go.
09:14So I really wanted to have a name for the house.
09:17Okay.
09:18Catalina.
09:19Catalina is a very beautiful flower from Colombia.
09:22It comes from the family of the orchid.
09:24And considering Sofia Vergara is our guest judge,
09:28I was thinking playing with the structure
09:31to create volume and beautiful silhouettes, right?
09:36Do you know what a Catalina flower is?
09:38No, not really.
09:39But it can get inspired if I don't know how it looks like.
09:42So, yeah.
09:44Like this.
09:45And there's the orchids here.
09:46It's like this.
09:47Like that.
09:48It has this beautiful structure like this.
09:50I'm not like a girly-girly designer.
09:53I'm more like modern and edgy and sexy.
09:56So, okay.
09:57How can I modernize it?
09:59What is the Catalina aspect of your outfit?
10:04I don't know.
10:05I'm just asking because this is the inspiration, right?
10:07Yeah.
10:08So we have to defend like...
10:09Well, it's good to say it now.
10:10Yeah.
10:12Girl, I'm honestly getting a little annoyed
10:15because BJ is fighting me on the inspiration.
10:17Let's not forget that I'm the team leader.
10:20So just do what I say.
10:23Jesus has a very strong personality and so do I.
10:27So I'm afraid that we will clash.
10:34House of Jesus, are we all doing flowers?
10:37I think we should.
10:38Yeah.
10:39I think because of structure.
10:40Yeah.
10:41BJ.
10:42I'm not sure yet.
10:44BJ, I don't want yours to look like complete.
10:47Like it doesn't belong in the collection.
10:49BJ is very quiet and doesn't really share what she's designing.
10:53You know, she's like a silent killer.
10:54Like all of a sudden you're like, whoa, where'd that look come from?
10:57At the end of the day, one look can ruin your win.
11:00I kind of want to know what you're doing.
11:02So then that way we can like, maybe you have a code technique that we could use.
11:06You know what I mean?
11:07Okay.
11:08And share that with us.
11:09Yeah.
11:10Yes.
11:11We're going to help each other.
11:12But no, I'm not going to share everything that I have in my mind.
11:15You have to be creative on your own.
11:18Welcome to team Ethan.
11:20We have the house of Ethan.
11:23Or like I like to call it.
11:25Ho.
11:26Our overarching theme is showstoppers.
11:32Huh?
11:33Okay.
11:34I think that we should prioritize using fringe.
11:42Fringe.
11:43Do we want to take a couple of minutes and just draw?
11:49Yeah, let's draw it.
11:51I love this friction pen.
11:54And luckily they're erasable.
11:57It's a lifesaver right there.
11:59Okay.
12:00Ethan, so this is like the fringe idea concept.
12:03And then this is the ruffle.
12:04Yep.
12:05You have two really good ideas.
12:07We're going to dive into fringe.
12:08Okay.
12:09Yes.
12:10With the cool hat.
12:11Okay.
12:12You know, Ethan is the head of the house.
12:14So he kind of selects which design that he thinks each designer should do.
12:19We're going to do the flow with the swoopy swoopy.
12:22So I'm making a frayed denim gown with frayed accents and a frayed spiral headpiece.
12:31You have to do this hat.
12:32Yeah.
12:33It could be really beautiful.
12:34That's not my favorite look of the ones I sketch, but I'm trying to be a team player.
12:39Hello.
12:40Wow.
12:41Are we feeling good?
12:42I don't see a lot done at all.
12:43We're just starting.
12:44I keep it fresh.
12:45So what are you doing?
12:46I wanted to do a powerful coat.
12:48This kind of like the idea of the Catalina flower and moving it into the waist.
13:05Yeah.
13:06I mean, this coat, if this is it, has to be perfect.
13:10So everybody was doing kind of a dress bodice type of thing.
13:15And I said, let me step out and do pants.
13:18That's tailored.
13:19This is so dynamic as a pant.
13:21Oh my God.
13:22I know.
13:23I'm screaming.
13:24Groundbreaking.
13:25Honestly, I've never seen a pant more interesting in my entire career.
13:30I know how to rework a boring uniform into something cool since I have dyslexia.
13:36This is how my process works.
13:37Dyslexia switches the letters around.
13:39So I had to learn early to see disorganization or see confusion and make it make sense.
13:45So Christian, chill baby.
13:48I got this, okay?
13:50So in the collection, I'm going to go at the end.
13:53This is the finale moment.
13:54The finale moment.
13:55I'm designing a beautiful mermaid gown incorporating the Catalina flower.
13:59I want to be on top.
14:00I want Law to tell me what he told my brother.
14:02You shut me up.
14:03You shut me up.
14:04You've got to make sure that this silhouette is just really interesting.
14:08Noted.
14:09BJ, you're making a pencil dress again.
14:13What happens on her hips?
14:14They open?
14:15Yes.
14:16Oh yeah.
14:17Yeah.
14:18So this is skin?
14:19Yes.
14:20Wow.
14:21Okay.
14:22I saw this fabric and was thinking like Goldman's sleeve and then an open back here.
14:26Mm-hmm.
14:27It's very chic and classic.
14:29Yeah.
14:30But I don't think it's that exciting.
14:32I'm going to do this most sick high-waisted pant and it's going to have a window.
14:41How is this standing up?
14:42I am a master of boning.
14:45Yeah.
14:46Boning is understructure that helps garments have shape to make them larger than life.
14:53If you can master boning, you can make any garment submissive to your whim.
14:58It's my first time to use boning, to be honest.
15:01First time to use boning ever?
15:02Yep.
15:03Yep.
15:04Okay.
15:05This is my design.
15:06I was trying to make this dorm dress.
15:08So if it doesn't work, it's going down.
15:11I'm just saying.
15:12What are you making?
15:14I got the pencil skirt that's going to go underneath and I'm playing with this shape.
15:19Is this your vibe?
15:20Switching it up.
15:21I don't want you to take on something that you really don't do and isn't your aesthetic.
15:26Yep.
15:27I kind of agree with him, but at the same time, I wanted to stick to my ground and not create another pant.
15:32I feel like if I execute that, it's enough to make it to the next week.
15:36Okay, Joe.
15:37What is all that?
15:39Fringe?
15:40Oh, God.
15:43I just think that's just not that interesting.
15:47Mm-hmm.
15:48It's been done literally 100 million thousand times.
15:51From Britney to Steven Tyler to every project runway designer that's ever been in this competition has done a frayed edge denim dress.
15:59Oh, no.
16:02Does it feel good, Mr. Christian?
16:04What are we supposed to do?
16:05Like, take all of it off and put nothing on the runway?
16:08Like, I don't have time or the bandwidth to pivot.
16:11So you've got to make it the best fringe seamed edge thing you've ever seen.
16:16You have a lot to do.
16:18Good luck.
16:19I'm shook.
16:20I'm shook.
16:21All right.
16:22Battle of the houses.
16:23It's truly a battle.
16:24I still think a lot needs to happen before these collections become brilliant.
16:29Don't forget that all the boring things are right, like the hems and the zippers.
16:34All the details need to be perfect.
16:36The judges are going to be watching.
16:38Okay.
16:39Get to work.
16:40Bye, everybody.
16:41Bye.
16:42Good night.
16:43I'm still standing by the fringe.
16:46So we have a battle.
16:49Mm-hmm.
16:50It's got to be interesting.
16:51Right.
16:52Whew.
16:53That did not go well at all.
16:56I am worried about the direction that we're going as a team.
17:00Showstoppers is not a theme.
17:03It's a vision, you know?
17:05And I just think this whole fringe thing was a last-ditch effort to try to make it make sense.
17:12I am really concerned about this challenge.
17:24Rumi, what do you think of this edge on here?
17:27Utica was saying we add a fringe.
17:29Trust your instinct, Rumi.
17:31I'm trying to be a team player, okay?
17:34I'm really surprised about Ethan's choices.
17:37I think his goal is not to win the group challenge.
17:40I think his goal is to be the strongest.
17:42He loved my piece, so I'm in a good spot, but I want to make sure that y'all are in a good spot.
17:47Jesus, do you already know what the other team is working on?
17:51I don't know.
17:52I see a lot of volume and a lot of, like...
17:54You know?
17:55I am extremely worried for the house of Ethan.
17:58They are all over the place.
18:00I really don't understand what Ethan is creating.
18:04Miss Jones is really confused.
18:06Yushin doing this dress that I know it's going to be impossible for him to finish it on a one-day challenge.
18:13Villania?
18:14Yeah?
18:15This is a concept that I had in mind for us to all incorporate the rough-up.
18:19Like, look at the color.
18:20The more circle.
18:21The more circle.
18:22Yeah.
18:23That's a cascade.
18:24Yeah, I see.
18:25Yeah, I see.
18:26At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to interpret the Catalina flower, but now I see it.
18:31I'm liking what everyone is working on.
18:34And we're really making boring brilliant.
18:37Kristen!
18:38Hello.
18:39Who wants the model?
18:40You ready?
18:41What?
18:42I don't even have a dress to fit on her.
18:44Hello, ladies!
18:45Excited to work with you!
18:46Oh, me too!
18:47How are you?
18:48Yeah, how are you?
18:49Sorry.
18:50I have nothing to fit on you right now.
18:52Wait, you have nothing to try on?
18:54Oh, no.
18:55What are you going to do?
18:57What if you cut this like you're going to, safety pin it down flat, and put it on her?
19:03Yeah.
19:04Right now.
19:05Okay.
19:06The clothes need a lot of, like, you know, headstitch, but Christian is saying I have to put it on the model anyway.
19:13Getting the structure to do this is going to be a little bit tough.
19:17It's not working.
19:19I feel very frustrated.
19:20It's going to take a lot of finesse.
19:23The nightmare is happening.
19:25I have to completely start over.
19:28We'll whip out something easy and something that's in your wheelhouse that isn't so elaborate.
19:33I really don't know.
19:35I really don't know.
19:36You can either you listen to me and I make it easier for you, or you continue to struggle with your piece.
19:42Pick a lane.
19:43This is it?
19:44It's just a pencil skirt?
19:45No, no, no, no.
19:46This is the bottom.
19:47It's four layers.
19:48You didn't make that in denim yet?
19:50I can't make it in denim because it's going to be too heavy.
19:52The outer layer is going to be done.
19:54What if you don't have time?
19:55Oh, Lord, Ethan, I'm worried.
19:58Yes, my team is struggle bussing.
20:02You guys, really?
20:04We don't have a lot of clothes to fit.
20:07So really, this is going to be it?
20:09Multiple people are just not going to fit things?
20:12Ethan, your team has no clothes.
20:14Yuchen couldn't even get his off the mannequin.
20:16He has no bottom at all.
20:19And that's a pencil skirt.
20:20And if that's happening, then good luck.
20:22You might as well just say goodbye.
20:24I really believe that the other group should feel worried
20:29because Christian is actually panicking.
20:31It's crazy.
20:32We'll see you on the runway.
20:38The showstopper aspect is my whole MO,
20:41and I am realizing in the thick of it
20:43that it's a real challenge for the team.
20:45Maybe this was a bad decision.
20:48And just come up with something new, something fresh
20:53that you know that you can whip out
20:55that has that wow factor.
20:57AJ, he started it again.
21:01I have six hours left.
21:03I have to make something else.
21:05I don't want to drag the team down
21:06because Ethan picked me first.
21:08I have to make it work.
21:10Show me what you're working with.
21:12Show me, show me.
21:15Wow, guys, it's runway day.
21:17It's runway day.
21:18It's runway day.
21:19Hey.
21:20Good morning, guys.
21:21She's a designer.
21:23Oh, my God.
21:26Oh, my God.
21:28She's a designer, a model, and a drag queen.
21:33Bitch.
21:36My team is struggling,
21:37and it's like Utica's all about light, uplift,
21:40and truly that showstopper energy.
21:42So if there's anything that's going to get my team
21:45on track to be a showstopper, it's her.
21:48Woo!
21:49Yes!
21:50We thought you were the only models.
21:52Utica.
21:53Oh, my God.
21:56Perfect.
21:58I have to finish my top and my skirt
22:00and some hem off the cape.
22:01I'm so determined to finish my look.
22:03If I don't make this happen, I'll go home.
22:07Hello.
22:08Christian, meet Eureka.
22:10I see her.
22:11I wish that look was going on the runway,
22:13other than some of these other ones.
22:15Oh!
22:16No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade.
22:19All right, houses.
22:20It's the final stretch.
22:21Don't forget to send your model to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:25Hola, hola.
22:26Bring out her natural features.
22:27I love the makeup.
22:28It's really chic.
22:29That is everything.
22:30I'm so excited.
22:31You deliver.
22:34I'm just going to have to open up one of these darts.
22:36No.
22:37Do it tight.
22:38It looks snatched.
22:39Trust me.
22:40Being picked last, I was just like,
22:42my team is overly scrutinizing my look.
22:45But fit is important.
22:46And even though I'm not as confident as the other designers,
22:50I'm feeling good about tailoring stuff because I'm a tailor type of girl.
22:53I just need to clean everything up.
22:55I'm telling you, this is perfect.
22:57Do not change the zipper.
22:58Maybe like that.
22:59Okay.
23:00What is this?
23:01I'm making a very sexy top and a very sexy, like, you know, skirt inside, like Dr. Cat.
23:07So it's a whole new look.
23:09We're leaving this room in less than 10 minutes.
23:12So good.
23:13Yes.
23:14Oh my God, his suit.
23:15Yes.
23:16So I'm a little worried.
23:18Their collection is very good and very strong and very done.
23:22I'm definitely stressing.
23:23The law is going to cut you up.
23:26Oh, Lord.
23:27Hello.
23:28Hi.
23:29Hello, houses.
23:30And welcome to the runway.
23:31As you know, in fashion, one day you're in and the next day you're out.
23:41Each house was asked to create a capsule collection, transforming something boring into something brilliant.
23:49Oh my God.
23:50Oh my God.
23:51I hope it is brilliant.
23:52We can't wait to see what you've made for the runway.
23:54All right.
23:55First, let's meet our judges.
23:56CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, La Roche.
24:01Guest judge, co-founder of the fashion line, favorite daughter, Sarah Foster.
24:08And actress, model and icon, Sofia Vergara.
24:14I love it.
24:15I missed you.
24:16Hi, guys.
24:17Hi.
24:18You guys look wonderful.
24:19Not only is she my dear friend, but she will be wearing the winning look to an upcoming event.
24:31This is so exciting.
24:32Thank you very much for being our guest.
24:34And I'm hoping that this is good.
24:36All right.
24:37Let's start the show.
24:46This is the outfit I want my brand to be in the world of.
24:50I am kind of loving the material though, even though it's boring.
24:54It looks like something that's from a different era, but it also looks like a little bit futuristic in a way.
25:07This is hot.
25:10If you have the legs for it, this is amazing.
25:12You have them.
25:13No, I don't.
25:14You do.
25:15I am so ecstatic.
25:17Those cutouts are on fire.
25:19It's a dangerous dress.
25:21She's sexy, but very mysterious.
25:24And I really love it.
25:32Oh my God.
25:33I took very basic wool to something extraordinary.
25:40Wow.
25:41I love it.
25:42To the people who always choose me last, my skills are delicious and top tier.
25:48We got that fire.
25:49We got this.
25:50When I finish a garment, it fits the body like a glove.
25:53I mean, that looks expensive.
25:54Party going up right now.
25:56My look looks expensive, well tailored, well made.
26:01This is so good.
26:03I think it looks really cool on the runway with the dramatic color, the ruffle coming down.
26:08Sofia is smiling.
26:10What an honor to see Sofia Regal.
26:13I can't stop looking at my design and I feel like I've done it again.
26:23See my full mermaid gown.
26:25I'm so proud of myself for really understanding this inspiration of the Catalina flower.
26:30And the structure of it made it so beautiful.
26:32And looking at Sofia Vergara's face smiling, like saying, wow, spectacular.
26:41I can see you wearing that one.
26:42Yeah.
26:43Like all of them.
26:44Never.
26:45I am so proud of my house.
26:47We made the collection that we were set up to design.
26:51Good luck, Ethan.
26:57This is a showstopper.
27:00It's grand.
27:01It has silhouette.
27:02It takes denim.
27:03Makes it fun.
27:04The window works.
27:08I set out to create a grand moment.
27:11And I did that.
27:12How do you get inside the car?
27:14Well, you don't.
27:20Wanted to be a team player.
27:22It has the frayed edges.
27:24Almost like a little cape.
27:25That's just who I am as a designer.
27:28When I commit to something, I just go for it.
27:35I don't know what to think.
27:36There's a lot going on on this one.
27:42I'm really proud of my denim jacket.
27:46The overall look, the fit came out really good.
27:50Look at me.
27:51Look at me.
27:52Look at me.
27:53Look at me.
27:54Look at me.
27:55Everybody knows that I flaunt like this when I walk, walk.
27:58Oh, I love that.
27:59My idea of a showstopper is simplicity and volume.
28:02So I could see her taking it onto a red carpet
28:05to be like a cool, but quirky, but still like that it girl.
28:09Or she just sort of like a stroll down the street.
28:11But listen, come on now.
28:12It's a moment, baby.
28:13To do that with denim, that's not easy.
28:20Yes, girl!
28:22When she opened that cape, that's the sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life.
28:26This look represent my resilience.
28:29It really shows how I can make something totally new in six hours.
28:34I'm going to see a lot of film when you go to Coachella.
28:41Woo!
28:42Yes, Diva!
28:43As frantic as it was, our individuality was really shown.
28:47And we did the job of showstoppers and the whole collection.
28:50I think that it's cool.
28:52But if the judges don't like it, I could be on the chopping block.
28:56Okay, we scored your designs and one house was truly brilliant.
29:07The winning look will come from the winning house.
29:09While the eliminated designer will come from the losing house.
29:12House of Jesus, you were our favorite house!
29:27Wow, congrats, guys.
29:28Wow, wow, wow.
29:29It feels very empowering to be a leader and to have my house win.
29:33To be in the top three first week, to one second week, and then now third week again.
29:40Good job, Jesus.
29:41Okay, House of Utica.
29:43We're going to talk to you later.
29:44You can leave the runway.
29:46No, not the House of Ho being in the bottom.
29:50Damn!
29:52How could you put something this sickening in the bottom?
29:56Tell me, judges.
29:57Tell me.
29:58Wow, what a day.
30:01Yeah.
30:02I'm not surprised we're in the bottom.
30:04I think we got carried away with Ethan's plan to create a showstopper piece.
30:09Definitely a little frustrating.
30:13Congratulations.
30:15I felt like you worked together.
30:16I was so impressed with the tailoring.
30:19So impressed.
30:21Spectacular.
30:22I mean, I could definitely wear many of those designs that you guys prepared this time.
30:28We want to talk to the three designers with our three favorite looks.
30:34Jesus.
30:35Wow.
30:37Antonio.
30:40And Polonia.
30:42Congrats.
30:43Woo!
30:45So that means Madeline and Vijay, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
30:49Thank you so much.
30:50Thank you so much.
30:54All right.
30:55Let's bring out your models.
30:59Hi.
31:00Oh, my God.
31:01This material is nothing boring at all.
31:04No.
31:05Amazing.
31:06It actually makes it elegant.
31:07The material makes it elegant.
31:08Yeah, expensive.
31:09Yeah.
31:10This is by far the best looks of the season so far.
31:13I can really see each and every one of you being a winner in this challenge.
31:18Yeah.
31:19All right.
31:20Jesus, we're going to start with you first.
31:21Yes.
31:22I really am impressed.
31:23I mean, wool can go very wrong.
31:25That could look floppy and it looks impeccable.
31:28Like the way that you tailored this coat, that was risky.
31:33I mean, I usually can wear things that have so much volume over here, but I think I could
31:39because it's open, low.
31:41It's amazing.
31:42It's spectacular.
31:43And I think this could look beautiful in any woman.
31:45Gracias.
31:46You did a really good job at taking a fabric that's considered as boring, but I think
31:52is absolutely sophisticated.
31:53Thank you so much.
31:54And you shut me up twice.
31:56Wow.
31:57Two runways in a row.
31:58So, congratulations.
31:59Thank you, Jesus.
32:00Another one of our favorite looks came from Balania.
32:05Oof.
32:06This thing falling down her neck, I've never seen anything like it in my life.
32:11It's a lot, but it's not.
32:13I think it was perfect for this material.
32:16It was perfect for the color.
32:18It was perfect for me.
32:21It feels timeless.
32:23I can see a superstar or a model of every era wearing this suit.
32:28Truly, I see it.
32:29Oh, I would definitely put Zidane in this.
32:30Oh, yes.
32:31Without a doubt.
32:32It's super sexy.
32:33She can show her shoulders.
32:35All the pretty parts of a woman is showing.
32:37Just, ah.
32:38It's the peplum.
32:39Just like, almost like this race.
32:40It was.
32:41And the peplum.
32:42There are no notes.
32:45This felt like something I had never saw before, and I've seen so many clothes.
32:50But this I will never forget.
32:52Ever.
32:53Please, you're gonna make me cry right now.
32:55You should be very proud.
32:59So many long, long, long years, I was not seen, not recognized for my skills and abilities.
33:04So, getting praise for it feels really good.
33:07It definitely confirms and reaffirms why I'm here, and I feel seen.
33:14That leaves us with Antonio.
33:16It's gorgeous.
33:19I can also see Sofia wear this.
33:21Yeah.
33:22It's elegant.
33:23It's spectacular.
33:24Absolutely gorgeous.
33:25Thank you so much.
33:26But that being said, I just want to point out a couple things that I think could have made it a little better.
33:30Had you trimmed the petal that's coming down just a little bit just to pull the snatch the waist in.
33:37All right.
33:38It's time to name the winner.
33:40The winning look truly wowed us by taking gray wool and bringing in structure, detail, and really a lot of elegance to bring brilliance out of boring.
33:52Never boring.
33:53Well, Sofia, since you are going to be wearing the winning look, I'll give you the honor.
33:58I mean, I would wear all of them.
34:00But if I only had money for one, I would say Belania.
34:09Yay!
34:10No!
34:12Oh, my gosh.
34:13Congratulations, Belania.
34:16I'm shocked.
34:17Literally.
34:18I'm like...
34:19That's how I feel.
34:20And Sofia Vergara is going to wear your look.
34:22Oh, yes!
34:23Work that body.
34:25How's the face suit?
34:27How's the face suit?
34:28He can leave the runway.
34:29Bravo.
34:30Gracias.
34:31Whoa!
34:32I've won a challenge on Project Runway.
34:37Yes!
34:38This part made me born like a baby.
34:42I was like, please, y'all stop.
34:44Winning this challenge makes me feel like I'm getting closer to defining who I am as a designer.
34:50Finally, seeing a little bit of the vision and the light of what's been inside of me for so long.
34:57So, don't choose me last, y'all.
34:59Choose me first.
35:00And we can win together.
35:01All right, let's talk to House of Ethan, or should I say House of Utica?
35:07Yeah, I'm not surprised.
35:11I kind of had a feeling, you know, Ethan's leadership for this challenge was an epic fail.
35:18The direction that we were going as a team was all wrong.
35:22And here we are.
35:24All right, House of Utica, tell us about your collection.
35:33I come from the world of drag, so I brought this idea to the team of creating showstoppers,
35:42to create a moment, to create big silhouettes.
35:45And I think we did a darn good job getting that aha.
35:49I understand that you wanted to have the wow.
35:51You know, we also want to be wowed.
35:53But I feel like you didn't keep in mind Sofia.
35:56Sofia will wear the winning look.
35:58So it's kind of like, don't you have that in the back of your head?
36:01Most importantly, we would like to bring out the three looks that we liked the least.
36:10Joseph, Eugene, you're safe.
36:14You can leave the runway.
36:15Thank you guys.
36:19Which means Joan, Angelo, and Utica.
36:24Unfortunately, you created our least favorite looks.
36:27All right, let's bring out your models.
36:33Okay, Angelo, let's talk about your design.
36:36There's just so much to look at.
36:38It's so busy in all the wrong places.
36:42I like the jacket.
36:44Does the jacket come off?
36:45Yeah.
36:46The jacket with the corset and the pants would have been a better look.
36:49And the pants would have been a better look.
36:50Very wearable.
36:51Turn around, please.
36:53Everything looks so crooked.
36:55No.
36:56Angelo, thank you.
36:57All right, Joan.
36:59It's a very confusing design.
37:03Those pieces of denim are not beautiful to look at.
37:06You don't even want to touch them.
37:07You don't even want to touch them.
37:08They're like...
37:09It looks shredded.
37:10It looks like something bad happened to it.
37:12I mean, no doubt she would get worse dressed than that.
37:15That does not look luxe.
37:17Well, you know, I'm an evening wear designer.
37:20And this was the assignment.
37:22This is the direction we were given as a team.
37:25You know, and I'm trying to be a team player.
37:27Direction from who? Your leader?
37:28Yes.
37:30We submitted sketches.
37:32This is what was selected for me to design, so...
37:35And now you're in the bottom because you let somebody push you away from what your aesthetic is.
37:40There is a lot of pressure to create a vibe and guide a team to victory.
37:46It doesn't feel great, but my leadership could be the weakest link.
37:51I just, I'm confused why you guys felt like you had to push as far as you did.
37:56We decided to create things that are quintessentially us, but we did not keep you in mind.
38:04Now, that's what I'm all about, these big, beautiful, like awe-inspiring moments.
38:08Love, but I feel like there is a time and a place.
38:11When I saw your look walk out, I was just like, the cervix is dilated and she's crowning.
38:19That is exactly what it is.
38:21That's what it is. It's true.
38:22I have a bottle opener at home that looks just like it for my beer.
38:27Let's see the back, please.
38:29No, that's bad too.
38:31Oh.
38:33I think you let the drag persona take over this week.
38:38And I think you should have held her back because this is too over the top.
38:42It doesn't make sense.
38:43It's not beautiful.
38:44It's not flattering.
38:45I am actually really disappointed in you.
38:48I'm in shock, actually, that it's you.
38:52It's difficult being up here, being knocked down by the judges and my team.
38:57It does not feel good.
38:59I am really pissed off about this collection.
39:02I did not come to work and get this beautiful glam to look at a bunch of ugly clothes.
39:07I'm sorry.
39:08I am pissed off.
39:09I'm mad.
39:10Oh.
39:11Sorry.
39:12Okay, Utica, Joan, Angelo.
39:19We have to discuss what we've heard.
39:21And sadly, one of you will be out.
39:23You can leave the runway.
39:26Gee.
39:27That's terrible.
39:29And it really pissed me off.
39:30It's like a Project Runway denim costume party.
39:33Yes.
39:34You know, it doesn't feel good being on the bottom
39:37because it wasn't me designing truly from who I am and my design aesthetic
39:43and now being, you know, criticized for that.
39:46They thought it was the ugliest thing they've ever seen in their lives, but it's okay.
39:51What I don't like is that Ethan thought too much about himself.
39:54Yeah, exactly.
39:55Yeah.
39:56Because our eyes popped out of our heads when we saw Utica standing next to this look.
40:01I'm sorry.
40:02Ethan should have been here and not Utica tonight, babe.
40:04Right.
40:05I thought Angelo was the worst, to be quite honest.
40:06There was no real construction.
40:08He made a great jacket because he makes menswear, but the jacket was just okay.
40:13He plays safety, so he didn't make it as crazy.
40:16And that's why we were more drawn to say this one is better.
40:19But it wasn't.
40:20Better.
40:21It wasn't better.
40:22He's been here before.
40:23So we have to take that into account.
40:25I'm on the bottom again.
40:27It sucks because I didn't get a chance yet to really go full force and show my best ability.
40:34I'm not ready to go home.
40:36What about Joan?
40:37Joan, that dress.
40:38Some less offensive.
40:39The less offensive out of the three.
40:41But no one would really wear that outfit.
40:44I am feeling very frustrated.
40:47My hands were tied.
40:48This is not what I wanted to do.
40:51I have so much more to show.
40:53I am not ready to go home.
40:54I'm just getting warmed up.
40:56For me, it boils down to, do we send home the person that took leadership in the bag collection?
41:05And made the worst look?
41:06Or send home the person that had the least amount of point of view and sewing talent?
41:14If we didn't know who did this and the designer was not standing next to the look, who would go?
41:21I think they can all go.
41:23Same.
41:24This would be a first for Project Runway, but maybe it's time we do it.
41:30Next time on Project Runway from Abbott Elementary, Chris Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter.
41:36This is the Unconventional Materials Challenge.
41:40A fight's breaking out.
41:41Fight, fight, fight!
41:42Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
41:43Okay, she's Barbie with the pink bitch done.
