00:00Due to the impact of UON, nearly 3 million households across 12 regions experienced power outages.

00:07National Electrification Administration, or NEA, Secretary Antonio Mariano Almeida says

00:13that some of the outages occurred after safety protocols were implemented

00:17to lessen the impact of heavy winds on power lines and facilities.

00:22According to NEA, there are at least 20 electric cooperatives in 12 affected regions

00:27that declared total power interruptions.

00:30The NEA asks for understanding and assures that inspection and assessment are ongoing

00:36in efforts to restore power services while ensuring safety,

00:40especially for meters submerged in floodwaters.
