00:00Aside from the evacuees who don't want to go home yet, some residents in Taguig City who already went home returned to evacuation centers out of fear of the continuous gusty winds and rains caused by Typhoon Uwan.
00:12More updates in Taguig and Pasay City evacuation centers in this Luisa Erispe report.
00:19Although Uwan is now on track to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR, the southern part of Metro Manila still experienced gusty winds and rain today.
00:30That's why in Taguig City, some evacuees returned to the evacuation center after going back to their homes earlier this morning.
00:37According to Marilu, her family was scared that the damage in their homes may worsen and they will be left homeless.
00:58But if there are some who returned, Nita did not even bother leaving the evacuation center.
01:04Her house in Barangay Ususan was flooded last night.
01:07Seeing that there was still rain and strong winds, she chose to stay in the center.
01:12Aside from fear, she feels down and exhausted because of the effects of the recent weather disturbance to their family.
01:18Kasi pa hindi pa na alam kung ano ang gagawin.
01:24Ayawang ko lang.
01:39Ay siyempre, ganun talaga ang buhay.
01:43Nag-aano talaga.
01:44According to Taguig City Social Welfare, particularly in Barangay Ususan, most of their evacuees are from low-lying areas near the Taguig River.
01:53Whether the evacuees opt to stay or return to the evacuation centers, the CSWD of Taguig is willing to assist them.
02:00The people who are here are the first afraid of the situation of the town and the area. They are really close to the Ilog.
02:09There are also food available and hygiene kits distributed to them.
02:28Based on Taguig City's update, there are 8 evacuation centers in the area.
02:33In Ususan alone, there are 71 families or more than 300 individuals.
02:37But if the weather improves by tomorrow, they expect the families to go back to their respective homes.
02:42Meanwhile, in Pasay City, out of the 11 evacuation centers, there are only 4 active centers temporarily housing 108 families or 407 individuals in total.
02:54The LGU expects that the evacuees will be able to go back to their homes by tonight or tomorrow.
02:59Authorities have finished with the deglogging and clearing operations of drainages and have removed fallen trees.
03:06Luisa Erispe from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
