00:00Kamungan Rakyat Sabah Chairman Haji Ji Noor has stressed that there is no problem with PKR's decision to field two former GRS leaders as candidates in the upcoming Sabah state election.
00:12He said the decision was a democratic right that should be respected, reflecting the healthy dynamics of Sabah's politics.
00:19In a statement, Haji Ji, who is also the Gagasan Rakyat President, said his party would continue to support them as candidates of the unity government coalition.
00:27Yesterday, PKR announced its candidates for 10 seats in the 17th Sabah state election, including former GRS leaders George Hieu Inkaramunteng and Jamawi Jafar in Melalap.
00:39Hieu, a two-term assemblyman, previously represented DAP and Warisan before joining Gagasan Rakyat in 2023.
00:45Meanwhile, Jamawi, who served as the Kemabong assemblyman from 2018 to 2020 while with UMNO, was fielded by the party in Melalap during the 2020 state election, but lost to Peter Antony by a majority of 1,719 votes.
