Philippines braces for new storm as ‘Kalmaegi’ heads to Vietnam

The Philippines is bracing for another storm while still reeling from the onslaught of Typhoon Kalmaegi, which killed over 100 people and left a massive wake of destruction. While the typhoon is now heading toward Vietnam, tropical storm Fung-Wong is forming east of the Philippines and may also impact Taiwan by next week.

00:08The typhoon left a trail of destruction across the central Philippines,

00:11particularly in Harthut, Cebu province.

00:14Ravaged communities have started to clean up,

00:16and they're calling for more government aid to rebuild.

00:18The typhoon is now regaining strength as it crosses the South China Sea and heads toward Vietnam.

00:24Forecasters are also tracking another storm, Fonghuang,

00:27which could become a super typhoon by next week.

00:30That storm is currently southeast of Taiwan,

00:32but its path and potential impact are still uncertain.
