Clare Balding tips rugby star Joe Marler for Hollywood after Celebrity Traitors performance
Transcript
00:00You know, I could see Joe Marla getting parts in films after this,
00:03you know, Guy Ritchie films or, you know, can you imagine?
00:06I mean, yeah, well, The Rock can't go on forever.
00:10And he's such a solid presence to be around.
00:14Like, you know, you can count on Joe and physically,
00:17obviously he's incredibly strong, but also I think mentally he's really,
00:22he's really got something.
00:24And I really admire him because he wasn't going to be swayed by other people
00:29thinking they were super intelligent and therefore that somehow he wasn't.
00:35It was, he knew what he knew.
00:38But listening to Joe, and it's so interesting because you think about it in,
00:43I was thinking about staff meetings and a lot of my friends are PE teachers
00:47and they find that, that they don't get listened to,
00:50whereas the history teacher or the English teacher or the head of science
00:53has a status that is quiet.
00:56So sport was low down in the kind of pecking order, really,
01:00in terms of what you bring to the party.
01:02And actually he was sitting back and he's observed brilliantly the whole time.
01:08He's really unnerved Alan as well.
01:10Alan can't read him.
01:11So that's been quite interesting because he's,
01:13sometimes Alan looks slightly offended by the stares that Joe can give,
01:17but Joe is just looking at people, observing,
01:19and making this alliance with Nick, which has been quite interesting for him.
