Taiwan's' vice president has hailed Taiwan as an important partner to global peace and democracy, after returning from a historic trip to Europe.

00:30Shao returned to Taiwan on Sunday after addressing the inter-parliamentary alliance on China at the European Parliament,

00:43The alliance brings together more than 350 global lawmakers focused on China policy.

00:49Beijing, which claims Taiwan as part of its territory, condemned Shao's visit,
