01:35is a seasonal visitor in many parts of northern Pakistan and prefers sunny open habitats where
01:41it can scan from the high perches. The call of Siberian stone chat is distinctive and easy to
01:48recognize once familiar. It gives a sharp chick chick sound which resembles the noise of two
01:53small stones being tapped together. This clicking call is often used to give alarms when it sends
02:00movement or disturbance nearby. During the breeding or active feeding season it also produces a more
02:07melodic wobbling song composed of short, soft whistles and sweet repetitive notes. The male sings more
02:14frequently especially from exposed perches while the female usually calls softly to communicate with
02:20her partner or chicks. When watching this bird if you stay still and quiet you may hear the characteristic
02:27stone tapping call echoing around grassy or hilly terrain. A beautiful and simple sound that truly
02:34matches its name.
