00:00The Uruguayan government approved the first private reserve in the country in compliance with international agreements to advance biodiversity conservation.
00:12The Ministry of the Environment approved three private reserves in the departments of Artigas, Cerro Largo and Maldonado, totaling 3,505 hectares.
00:24The initiative is based on the Ministerial resolution that recognizes private actions for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
00:33It also strengthens safeguarding tools such as the National System of Protected Natural Areas.
00:39With the declaration of private reserves, Eurowide seeks to meet its biodiversity conservation objective through networks of connected conservation areas
00:50and representative of priority ecosystems in pursuit of all three of the coming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
