00:00Welcome to the Inner Circle, the game where trust is as important as knowledge.
00:06I know that you're bluffing.
00:07You don't.
00:08He's trying to frame me to be a liar. I'm really not.
00:10The aim of the game, get the most money and the best brains into the final.
00:15To win, the players need to be strategic and outsmart the rest.
00:20Then they take their secret stash of cash and the person they trust the most to the final.
00:25What's made important? Money off the mainship.
00:27Oof. Where two players will face the ultimate decision.
00:30Split the prize money and walk away as equals.
00:33Hooray!
00:35Or attempt to take it all by shafting the other player and leaving them with nothing.
00:39You little shafters!
00:41But the question is, who would you trust?
00:48I'm Hussain and I'm from Blackburn.
00:49I work as a medical administrator and today I'm going to be diagnosing the competition one bluff at a time.
00:55I'm Susan and I'm from Kinghorn in Fife.
00:58I'm a dog groomer and I know how to keep them neat and tidy, but I'm not above making a mess to win.
01:05I'm Richard, a marine engineer from Ellesmere Port.
01:09I spent years fixing engines mid-ocean. Figuring out people in a studio, that's easy.
01:15I'm Astrix, social media executive from Leeds.
01:19No plan yet, just vibes. Let's see who slips up first.
01:22I'm Dennis. I'm from Norwich. I'm a law student.
01:26Consider this my closing statement. I'm here to take the lot.
01:29I'm Cher, a performance artist and model based in London.
01:33They say sharing is caring, but sharing is winning.
01:37Welcome, everyone. You are about to face four rounds.
01:44After every round, one of you will be eliminated.
01:47However, if you win your secure immunity for that round, meaning you'll be safe from elimination,
01:52plus you'll receive a game-changing power.
01:56This will give you a big advantage that should get you one step closer to the final,
02:00because remember, only two of you can make it there.
02:04We've got some new faces to the inner circle. Richard and Astrix, welcome.
02:09Richard, you work as a marine engineer and have been on some very posh boats,
02:13a little bird told me.
02:15That's right, Amanda. I'm sure you've been on some yourself.
02:18Well, I might have been, yes.
02:22Who's the most famous person you've met on board?
02:25Beyonce, Jay-Z, Barack Obama, Tom Hanks.
02:28Oh, my gosh. Astrix, welcome.
02:31You work as a social media executive. Tell me what that is.
02:34It's a lot of talking to customers.
02:37And you work for a gambling company.
02:39Does that mean you're willing to take risks today?
02:42Well, I suppose everybody else would like to know, wouldn't they?
02:45They would like to know.
02:46OK, Hussain, we barely got a chance to chat to you yesterday.
02:50What made you want to come on the show in the first place?
02:53So I'm going to be entertaining everyone today.
02:56Oh, my goodness. What have we got to look forward to?
02:58Well, if they don't vote me out, they'll see.
03:00OK, well, listen, we'll catch up with the rest of you a little bit later on.
03:04Right, let's talk money.
03:07Earlier on, the Inner Circle randomly assigned each player a secret stash of cash.
03:13One of them will have absolutely zero,
03:16and one of them will have a very tasty sum of £4,000.
03:20So for our players, Inner Circle, please reveal the secret stashes.
03:26And for you at home, you can now see everyone's secret stash amount,
03:29so you always know where the money is.
03:45And if you think I know how much each player's got, you'd be wrong.
03:49I only find out at the end like everybody else.
03:51OK, your mission is now simple.
03:54You've got four rounds to get yourself and some big money into the final.
03:58So whoever bags the most points in this game will secure immunity
04:03and pocket the first power, which is a very lovely £1,000,
04:07to add to your secret stash.
04:09It's time for round one.
04:11Moving in circles.
04:14I'll ask a question.
04:15All our players need to do is stand in the section with the correct answer to score one point.
04:21If they're brave enough to correctly go it alone, they'll score three points.
04:25I wonder if you'll take a chance or follow the crowd.
04:28After each question, you will have seven seconds to stand on the answer,
04:33so you need to be super quick and very decisive.
04:36Let's play.
04:40Good luck, everyone.
04:42Your options are Castaway, Saving Private Ryan,
04:45Forrest Gump.
04:47Your question is,
04:49which of these Tom Hanks films was released in the noughties?
04:54In the noughties.
05:03OK, so we've got Dennis and Hussain on Castaway,
05:06we've got Asterix and Richard on Saving Private Ryan,
05:09and we've got Cher and Susan on Forrest Gump.
05:11Who's right?
05:12Well done, boys.
05:15One point each.
05:16Castaway was 2001.
05:18Saving Private Ryan was 98.
05:21And Forrest Gump was 94.
05:24The inner circle's going to make things a little bit more tricky now.
05:28You're going to have four possible answers, and they are day, month, year, decade.
05:36Your question is, which of these is 525,600 minutes long?
05:42OK, so we've got Dennis and Hussain and Susan and Cher on month,
05:56and we've got Richard on decade, and we've got Asterix on year.
06:01Inner circle, please reveal the correct answer.
06:05Well done, Asterix.
06:06You scored three points because you're all on your own.
06:08Well done.
06:09Your options are something kind of ooh, love machine, sound of the underground, and jump.
06:16Your question is, which of these Girls Aloud singles was a Christmas number one?
06:22A Christmas number one for Girls Aloud.
06:24Which one was it?
06:31OK, Hussain and Cher leapt onto sound of the underground.
06:34We've got Dennis on something kind of ooh.
06:37We've got Richard on love machine.
06:39Do you belong there, Richard?
06:41Of course.
06:42And we've got Asterix and Susan on jump.
06:45Inner circle, please reveal the correct answer.
06:49Yes.
06:49Well done, Cher and Hussain.
06:52You've scored one point each there.
06:54It was also their first number one.
06:56OK, it's the last chance to win some points.
06:59Remember, there are three points up for grabs if you correctly go it alone.
07:03Your options are arms, shoulders, back, thighs.
07:08Your question is, skull crushers is the name of a weighted exercise
07:13that primarily targets which area of the body?
07:17Skull crushers.
07:21Asterix and Richard are on shoulders.
07:30Hussain is on thighs.
07:32And we have Susan, Dennis and Cher on arms.
07:35Inner circle, please reveal the correct answer.
07:38Well done, arms is correct.
07:41That was the last question.
07:42Please return to your podiums.
07:48Inner circle, please reveal who's won the round.
07:50Asterix, well done, you're the winner.
07:57Newbie on the block and you've smashed it.
08:00As the winner, you've secured your spot in the next round
08:02and you've won the first power, which is £1,000 to add to your secret stash.
08:07Well, it is time for the first vote.
08:15One of you and your secret stash is about to be eliminated.
08:18Asterix, you have immunity here so you are safe for the minute,
08:22but for the rest of you, you really need to fight to stay in the game.
08:25Remember, you want the most money, but you also want somebody with a good general knowledge
08:30in that final.
08:31That's your motivation.
08:33Over to you.
08:34The floor is open.
08:35Who's got the big money?
08:37Look, I've been here all week now.
08:40I've seen how it goes when I've got big money and I say I have big money.
08:44I've seen a lot of games and I can say now I've got a top three amount,
08:48and that's the truth.
08:50How much is it?
08:51I'm not going to reveal that at this point.
08:52I've seen what happens when you reveal it too early.
08:54I'm not going to play that now.
08:56But later in the game, someone wants to have a peek, be my guest.
08:59I'm glad I've got a larger amount, finally.
09:01I've got a larger amount than what I did yesterday.
09:03How much is it?
09:04How much have you got?
09:05I'm safe.
09:06You don't need to know about me.
09:08I've got a thousand.
09:09Mine's a good amount, but I'm going to lay on Dennis's wisdom here since it's my first time
09:16and I'm going to keep she done.
09:17I've got top three.
09:20Susan, how much have you got?
09:22I've got an amount that is worth bringing to the party.
09:26Yeah?
09:27Good answer.
09:28Somebody's lied, but I'm not going to say anything more than that.
09:32I've got a four-digit figure.
09:34That's all I can say.
09:36And all I can say is, remember, this is not just about the money.
09:38This is about the brains as well.
09:41It's time to lock in your decisions.
09:58Okay, let's find out who's going to be cast out of the inner circle first.
10:02Hussein, let's start with you.
10:04Who are you voting for?
10:06I voted for Dennis.
10:07And why?
10:07I think he looks a bit tired.
10:09I think he needs to go home.
10:12Okay.
10:14Susan, who are you casting out?
10:17Well, this time I voted for Cher.
10:20And why?
10:21I'm not sure how much she's bringing to the party and whether she's bringing smart answers.
10:30Richard, who are you casting out?
10:31Uh, I've opted to vote for Hussein, I'm afraid.
10:36Just from the discussion there, there was only one snippet of evidence where Asterix has said one person's lying and the only person who announced a value was Hussein.
10:47So the only thing I can go off is that Hussein has maybe not told the truth.
10:52Asterix, who are you casting out?
10:55Um, I have also voted for Hussein.
10:58Um.
10:59And why?
10:59It's actually nothing to do with that little bit of information I gave out earlier.
11:03It just seemed a bit too, a bit too desperate to convince everybody of what you've got, which is what did it for me, to be honest.
11:11Okay, thank you.
11:11Dennis, who are you casting out?
11:14I voted for Richard.
11:15And why?
11:16But the whole newbie element and it's an unknown quantity at this stage.
11:20However, in sort of your argument about why you voted on this round, I do take that in and I do actually appreciate that.
11:28And Cher, who's got your vote?
11:29I voted Dennis.
11:31Just because he's got a really good poker face, I can't really tell if he's telling the truth or lying.
11:37So, we have a tie. Hussein and Dennis, you both have two votes each, which means asterisks.
11:46Because you've won the last round, you get the deciding vote here.
11:51Which of those two people are you going to vote out?
11:54I feel really mean. I'm going to stick with my original vote and go for Hussein.
12:00Oh, Hussein. I was looking forward to being entertained.
12:05You'll have to wait a bit longer now.
12:07Thank you so much for bringing positive energy to the show.
12:10But I'm afraid you have been cast out of the inner circle.
12:13Thank you for having me.
12:19Hussein claimed to have a four-figure stash.
12:22Does that mean they just got rid of some big money?
12:25Only you at home know where that money is.
12:28Choices are made, though.
12:29No rewinds.
12:30It's time for round two.
12:32And you really want to win this because, as well as immunity,
12:35the power on offer is peak.
12:38This will give you a very big advantage as you'll be able to have a sneaky peek at someone's secret stash.
12:45Given that your ultimate goal is to get as much money as possible into that final,
12:49this could make all the difference.
12:50It's time for round two, Circle of Clues.
12:56For each question, I'm going to read a series of three clues.
12:59The quicker you buzz in with the correct link, the more points you'll win.
13:03But remember, if you get it wrong, you'll be frozen out of the rest of that question.
13:07It's time to get your brains in gear.
13:10Let's play.
13:13Question one.
13:14Can you name the landmark linked by these three clues?
13:18It inspired a location in George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones series.
13:27OK, next clue for two points.
13:29It is named after a Roman emperor from the second century, Dennis.
13:33Hadrian's Wall.
13:34It's correct.
13:35Well done.
13:36The last clue would have been,
13:37this fortification was built to mark the northwestern border of Britannia
13:41and to separate the Romans from the so-called barbarians.
13:45Hadrian's Wall, it was indeed.
13:47Well done.
13:48OK, question number two.
13:49Can you name the prime minister linked by these three clues?
13:54This British prime minister was the ninth to serve under Queen Elizabeth II.
14:01Susan.
14:02Tony Blair.
14:03I'm afraid not.
14:04You're frozen out of this question.
14:06Restart the clock.
14:10He was in office when the Spice Girls formed.
14:14Asterix.
14:15David Cameron.
14:17I'm afraid not.
14:17You're frozen out of this question.
14:19Restart the clock.
14:21Yes, Dennis.
14:22John Major.
14:23Is correct for two points.
14:24Well done.
14:25The third clue would have been,
14:26he served for seven years between Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair.
14:30Question number three.
14:31Can you name the fruit linked by these three clues?
14:35It is technically a berry and is distantly related to ginger.
14:45This fruit features in the name of a superhero whose alter ego is Eric Wimp.
14:54It is a main ingredient in banoffee pie.
14:57Yes, Richard.
14:58Banana?
14:58Banana is correct.
15:00One point to you.
15:01Question number four.
15:02Can you name the actor linked by these three clues?
15:06His sister, Pauline, is a successful actor and producer.
15:15He showed up to his own lookalike contest in New York in October 2024.
15:19Yes, asterisk.
15:22Timothee Chalamet.
15:23Is correct for two points.
15:25Well done.
15:26And that is the end of the round.
15:32In a circle, please reveal the player with the most points.
15:35Dennis, you've won that round.
15:41As the winner, you've secured your place in the next round and you've won that second power,
15:46which is a sneaky peek at someone's secret stash.
15:49That power, as you know, because you've won it before, is a game changer.
15:53So Dennis, it's time for you to decide whose stash would you like to have a sneaky peek at?
15:58I'll go for Susan's.
16:00OK. In a circle, please let Dennis have a little peek at Susan's secret stash.
16:11All good?
16:14Wow. Just a lot of raised eyebrows and nodding.
16:18We're heading for another casting out.
16:24It's time for the second vote.
16:26Who do you think should stay and who needs to go?
16:30One wrong move could cost them the game.
16:32Another player and their secret stash is about to leave.
16:35Plus, I wonder if Dennis will let us know what he just saw.
16:39Who stays, who goes?
16:40It's down to you guys.
16:42The floor is open.
16:44Susan, what amount do you have?
16:48You know what it is. Why are you asking?
16:49I know what it is.
16:50I just want to see.
16:51You told us earlier that it was a good amount to bring to the party.
16:55No, I said it was worth bringing to the party, so I ain't got zero.
16:59Oh, no, I know that, but anything worth bringing is going to be top three.
17:03Is it top three?
17:03Uh, Dennis, can you share this information with us as lead investigator?
17:08I'm going to give one last chance.
17:09What is it top three?
17:11It's not a great amount.
17:12It's £50.
17:13OK.
17:14Sure.
17:16Can I ask, what do you have?
17:18Because I just noticed on the last question, you didn't, I think, opt in on any of the clues.
17:24I've got the top three.
17:26OK.
17:27What do you have, Asterix?
17:28At least a thousand.
17:29I was going to say, I've already got a bit of a target on my back for the swap,
17:33because you all know that I won the thousand from the first round.
17:36So, you know, I will say I haven't got the top amount.
17:38I haven't got the four grand.
17:40Just to remind you all, this is about trust.
17:43So perhaps you'd like to talk to people about their general knowledge.
17:46That's where I think Asterix and I make a good pairing.
17:50Oldest and youngest.
17:51I think between us, we do pretty well together.
17:54What's general knowledge about trust?
17:56I mean, even the trust thing, like, Dennis has told us Susan's amount,
18:01but Dennis hasn't necessarily told the truth.
18:04But the thing is, I chose Susan's amount because of actually what you said,
18:08that you had good general knowledge, and I can see that, and I fully back it.
18:12But when I saw that amount on screen, I just knew instantly, like, it's, you know,
18:16it's not worth that with £50, like, for me.
18:18I'm looking to do a good cash builder with someone.
18:21That's why I want the good general knowledge.
18:22That's why I was really sad.
18:23You didn't have a really good amount.
18:25If you've got the money, I've got the knowledge.
18:28And on that bombshell, please, will you lock in your decisions?
18:31The votes are in.
18:46Susan, tell me, who are you casting out?
18:48I've spent for Cher this time.
18:50I kind of feel I know what some of the boys have got.
18:54And I feel they're bringing quite a bit of general knowledge to the party.
18:59And Cher's amount, I'm not entirely sure that she's not bluffing.
19:05And Richard, who are you casting out?
19:09I also voted for Cher. I was just questioning the final cash builder.
19:14And I feel like I've got my knowledge, and there's going to be people who can fill in the gaps.
19:19And I need someone who can work with me for that.
19:23Thank you. Asterix, who's got your vote?
19:26I've gone for Susan. I'm really sorry.
19:28I thought everybody else was going to go for Susan after the cash reveal.
19:33And I didn't want to make an enemy out of somebody else that was staying behind.
19:36That was the only reasoning.
19:38Dennis. I voted for Susan.
19:41And why?
19:42Purely just because of what I saw on the screen.
19:44I mean, I do fully mean it.
19:45Honestly, I really wish you had big money.
19:48Because I think we could have been a great team.
19:49And Cher, who's got your vote?
19:51I voted for Susan, because I have a big amount, top three.
19:56And my name's Cher. I'm here to share.
19:58And I think Susan is trying to throw people off.
20:02OK, well, Susan, that's three votes for you.
20:05I agree, you have great general knowledge.
20:07That does count in this game.
20:09But today, it is all over for you.
20:11You have been cast out of the inner circle.
20:18Another player down.
20:19This lot are ruthless.
20:20To me, it feels like it's all about where the money is.
20:24But have they just said goodbye to somebody with brilliant general knowledge
20:27and who would have split in the final?
20:30There's now just two more chances to win immunity and a power that could help you through to that final.
20:36And this time, the power is swap.
20:40So if you win this round, you can swap stashes with any player.
20:45So if you don't have much in your secret stash, this could help you out.
20:49It's time for round three, connecting circles.
20:52It's a pairs game, so you're going to work together.
20:55You'll each have three chances to score and the person with the most points will win immunity and that important power.
21:03Each question has two correct answers.
21:06You've both got to stand on a correct answer.
21:08If you get one right, you'll score one point each.
21:11If you get them both right, that's three points each.
21:14So you need to get thinking, get moving and get connecting.
21:19Let's play.
21:23Our first pair is Richard and Dennis.
21:26Your answers are Paddington in Peru, Alien Romulus, Wicked, Gladiator 2, Sing Sing and Emilia Perez.
21:37Your question is, which two of these films received a Best Picture nomination at the 2025 Academy Awards?
21:46Which two received a Picture nomination?
21:49Do you know?
21:49Emilia Perez, I'm pretty sure, was one.
21:51OK.
21:52I'd say the second is Gladiator 2, but I'm not certain, if I'm honest.
21:56I'm not sure it's got that much, but I have nothing else to go on.
22:02Wicked, maybe. It's massive.
22:03Inner Circle, please reveal the correct answers.
22:08Yes.
22:08All right, we've got a point.
22:10You've got one point, Richard.
22:12If it's your gut feeling, go with your gut.
22:14Please return to your podiums.
22:17OK, Asterix and Cher, you're our next pairing.
22:20Your answers are Bridgetown, Caracas, Buenos Aires, Maputo, Hanoi and Tokyo.
22:29Which two of these capital cities are located in the southern hemisphere?
22:34Which two of these capital cities are located in the southern hemisphere?
22:40Hanoi and Tokyo. Tokyo is Japan, Hanoi is Vietnam.
22:43I was going for that.
22:44Those are both southern, right?
22:45I was going for that.
22:46Yeah? You happy with that?
22:47Yeah.
22:48I think I'm Buenos Aires.
22:49OK, so we've gone for Hanoi and Tokyo.
22:55Inner Circle, please reveal the correct answers.
22:57So they were Maputo and Buenos Aires.
23:02Never mind.
23:03Please return to your podiums.
23:05Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and Maputo is Mozambique.
23:10Next up, Dennis and Cher, your answers are Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, Coriolanus, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice.
23:22Your question is, which two of these Shakespeare plays are tragedies?
23:27Which two are tragedies?
23:29Right, Macbeth's one.
23:31Macbeth and a Midsummer Night Dream?
23:34I don't think it is.
23:35Or Twelfth Night?
23:36The Tempest.
23:39I'm not sure about that.
23:40I'm not sure.
23:45OK, so we've gone for Macbeth and The Tempest.
23:47Inner Circle, please reveal the correct answers.
23:51It was Coriolanus.
23:53The Tempest is a comedy.
23:55That's OK, you still scored a point.
23:57Please return to your podiums.
24:01Richard and Asterix.
24:03Your answers are Frigate, Gunboat, Rig, Destroyer, Submarine, Dreadnought.
24:11I feel like this might be a gift for you, Richard.
24:13OK.
24:15Which two of these pieces are used in the board game Battleship?
24:23Gunboat, for sure.
24:24Are you sure?
24:25I thought Submarine and Dreadnought.
24:26I think Submarine, definitely.
24:27Submarine, yes.
24:29I'll go with Gunboat if you want to back that.
24:31Oh, sorry, no, Destroyer.
24:37That was close.
24:38Last minute change of heart.
24:39I wonder if it's paid off.
24:40Inner Circle, please reveal the correct answers.
24:44Bingo.
24:44Three points each.
24:45Please return to your podiums.
24:47Richard and Cher, your answers are Tungsten, Silver, Radon, Sulphur, Silicon, Tin.
24:59Your question is, which two of these chemical elements are represented by one letter in the periodic table?
25:08By one letter.
25:09Sulphur.
25:09Sulphur is S.
25:11And I'd say Radon because I think I know most of the others.
25:17Yeah, I think that's good.
25:18OK, so we've gone for Radon and Sulphur.
25:25Inner Circle, are they right?
25:28It was Tungsten.
25:29Radon is R-N.
25:31Tungsten is W.
25:33Please return to your podiums.
25:35OK, next up we have Asterix and Dennis.
25:39Here come your answers.
25:41ER, Call the Midwife, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, Holby City and House.
25:48Your question is, which two of these dramas were broadcast first?
25:53Which two of these dramas were broadcast first?
25:56Grey's Anatomy has been going for so long.
25:58Yeah, and Holby, hasn't it?
26:00House is fairly new.
26:01I have no idea what that is.
26:03I'll trust you if you think it's that one.
26:04I think Holby's been on a war.
26:07Oh, Scrubs is quite old though, isn't it?
26:10I think we've definitely got one.
26:12Definitely one.
26:13OK, so we've gone for Holby City and Grey's Anatomy.
26:15I think Scrubs might be it.
26:17Inner Circle, please reveal the correct answers.
26:21It was ER and Holby City.
26:23They were both in the 90s.
26:26The rest were the noughties.
26:28But you still scored a point.
26:29That was the last question.
26:31Please return to your podiums.
26:33Inner Circle, please reveal the player with the most points.
26:42Richard, you won that.
26:44Lovely.
26:45Fabulous, how are you feeling?
26:47Not bad, not bad.
26:48Fantastic.
26:49OK, well listen, you've won immunity and that crucial power.
26:53You can now make a swap.
26:54Or you could keep what you've got.
26:57What are you going to do?
26:59You've been very adamant that you've got big money and you've got big money.
27:02So I will be changing from bottom money and I'd like to swap a few, please, Cher.
27:10OK, so hopefully Cher was telling the truth and she's in the top three amounts of money.
27:17You've locked her in.
27:18Inner Circle, please, will you swap the secret stashes?
27:26Happy with that swap, Richard?
27:28Yes, indeed.
27:29Cher doesn't look so happy.
27:32Here are the headlines.
27:34Asterix added £1,000 to her stash in round one.
27:37Dennis then had a peek at Susan's stash and said she had £50.
27:42But was he telling the truth?
27:44And Richard has swapped with Cher and looks very pleased with himself.
27:48Things are hotting up.
27:50I wonder who's going to survive.
27:51We're about to find out.
27:52It's time to make another big decision.
27:59Welcome to the sharp end of the game.
28:01Only two of you can get in to the final.
28:03It's time to get your stories straight.
28:06Over to you.
28:07The floor's open.
28:09I'm going to start straight off if that's OK.
28:11Now that the swap's over, let's be very honest.
28:14So I'm going to reveal my amount.
28:16I had £1,000 to start with
28:19and then I've added the £1,000 in round one.
28:22I've got £2,000.
28:23I've got a figure that starts with a four.
28:27Obviously feeling pretty chuffed with myself.
28:29And as discussed previously, I think you've obviously got a lot more
28:34modern pop culture things to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.
28:36And I think, you know, we could be a formidable force.
28:39Do you want to dispute that?
28:40What has Richard left you with?
28:42Do you want to tell us?
28:44It was less than before.
28:45It was less than before.
28:47Do you want to give us the amount?
28:48I'm not going to reveal the amount, but it was less than before.
28:51I've gone from zero to 4,000.
28:53OK.
28:55Is he lying?
28:57Are you lying, Richard?
28:59No.
29:00You looked quite happy when you made the swap, to be fair.
29:02I couldn't either.
29:03I thought, like, yeah, he looks happier.
29:06And I like that.
29:06It is now time for you to lock in your decisions.
29:23Dennis, tell me, who are you casting out?
29:25I've put Cher.
29:26And why?
29:27I think when you made the swap, Richard, I looked at both of your faces and that was
29:32decided enough for me that I can see she was quite disappointed.
29:36Richard, who are you casting out?
29:39Unfortunately, I've also went for Cher.
29:41Um, you know, I want to share a good book of money with everyone.
29:45But, you know, I do believe she's honest and she will just split.
29:49But I know she's got zero to bring to the table.
29:51And that's where my decision's been based.
29:55Asterix.
29:57Unfortunately, it is unanimous.
29:58I've also voted for Cher.
30:00I think exactly what Dennis said.
30:02I think both of your faces when the swap was made was just undisputable evidence.
30:06I do think that you've been left with zero pounds, unfortunately.
30:09And Cher, who are you casting out?
30:12Dennis.
30:13And why?
30:15This is a very good liar.
30:17Okay.
30:19Well, Cher, that's three votes for you.
30:22We've loved having you, but you have been cast out of the inner circle.
30:31We have our final three players.
30:33Congratulations on making it this far, especially our newbies.
30:37However, only two of them can make it to the final
30:40and be in with a chance of walking away with their combined stash.
30:43Remember, I'm still not absolutely certain where the money is.
30:47The winner of this last round wins that final power
30:50and will control who joins them in the final.
30:54It's time for our last round, Circle Circuit.
30:58It's our very own racing game.
31:00I'm going to ask each of you a true or false question.
31:03You give me the correct answer and then you'll get to roll the dice.
31:06You will then move that number of spaces.
31:09The first player to get right round the circuit wins.
31:12Dennis, you're in pink.
31:13Richard, you're in yellow.
31:15Asterix, you're in blue.
31:17This is a real mix of general knowledge and a little bit of luck.
31:21So I wonder who's got the brains and the luck to complete this circuit.
31:26We're going to find out.
31:27Let's play.
31:27A. Dennis, you're up first.
31:31Margot Robbie starred in the TV soap Neighbours.
31:34True or false?
31:35True.
31:36It is indeed.
31:37Throw your dice.
31:39OK, you're on your way.
31:40Richard.
31:41In the ancient Olympic Games, athletes competed naked.
31:45True or false?
31:46False.
31:48It was true.
31:49What a sight.
31:51OK, asterix.
31:53Here's your statement.
31:54Is this true or false?
31:56Fifth Gear was the first programme to be broadcast on Channel 5.
32:01True.
32:02It is false.
32:04It was family affairs.
32:08Dennis, the first name of the sheriff in Bob Marley's song,
32:11I Shot the Sheriff, is John.
32:14I'm going to say true.
32:15It is true.
32:16Roll your dice.
32:18Oh, juicy.
32:23Richard.
32:24Speed dating was invented in the 90s.
32:26True or false?
32:28True.
32:29Yes.
32:30There you go.
32:31Roll your dice.
32:34You're on your way.
32:36Parquet is a type of street exercise developed in France.
32:40True or false?
32:42True.
32:43I'm afraid not.
32:44It's a type of flooring.
32:46OK, Dennis.
32:48In The Simpsons, the family dog, Santa's little helper, is a greyhound.
32:52Is that true or false?
32:53False.
32:54It's true.
32:56Richard.
32:57Coffin and almond are names for styles of shaped fingernails.
33:02True or false?
33:03I'll go true.
33:04It is true.
33:06It is true.
33:06These are almond-shaped.
33:08Lovely.
33:08OK, throw that dice.
33:13Two.
33:15Asterix.
33:16A baby koala is called a Jimmy.
33:18Is that true or false?
33:20True.
33:20True.
33:21I'm afraid not.
33:23It's a joey.
33:24Dennis, more than 80% of turtle species survive the asteroid impact that caused the extinction
33:32of the dinosaurs.
33:33Is that true or false?
33:35Let's say it's true.
33:36It is true.
33:37Roll that dice.
33:42Richard.
33:43Bangs is the US term for a fringe.
33:46True or false?
33:48Yeah, true.
33:49It is indeed.
33:50Roll your dice.
33:51Oh, my gosh.
33:57This is neck and neck.
33:58Ooh.
33:58Asterix.
34:00The French word for Wednesday is lundi.
34:03True or false?
34:05False.
34:06It is indeed.
34:08Lundi is Monday.
34:10Oh.
34:12You're on your way.
34:14Dennis.
34:15Suddenly Seymour is a song from the musical The Rocky Horror Show.
34:19Let's say it's true.
34:21It is not.
34:22It's from Little Shop of Horrors.
34:24I love that show.
34:26Richard.
34:26Malala Yousafzai became the youngest person to win a Nobel Prize in 2014.
34:32True or false?
34:33Yeah, I think it might be true.
34:36It is.
34:36Roll that dice.
34:39Oh!
34:41Well done, Richard.
34:44You have completed the circuit.
34:46You've made it.
34:47Congratulations.
34:49You feeling good?
34:49Oof.
34:50Better now.
34:51That was tense.
34:51A bit nervous.
34:52It was very tense.
34:54Well, listen, you have won the power to control the vote.
35:02Remember, you need somebody you can trust, but you also need somebody that can help increase
35:07your stash in that final cash builder. Dennis and Asterix, it is now time to convince Richard
35:15why you should be taken through to the final.
35:18Should we start with you, Dennis?
35:20Look, I've said in the last round I had a top two amount as an opening hand.
35:26I think that's a strong enough argument to say that, you know, I can add to your prize fund.
35:29Also, in terms of general knowledge, I mean, we were neck and neck, and you can see throughout
35:34the other games, we're neck and neck in terms of general knowledge.
35:37I think we'd be a great team.
35:39Asterix?
35:41I think you already know that I've got to be the choice for this. I mean, if you're telling the
35:45truth about your balance, you know that I've got more money than Dennis has. I feel like I held my own.
35:49The thing is, all I'll say is, we know for a fact you've got a grand, you won the first round,
35:55but in theory, you could have had zero and just made it a grand. It's not certain you'd have two.
36:00I mean, to build on that, I knew that Hussein was lying in the first round. I said on purpose,
36:04someone's lying so that I could come back to this point if I needed to. I knew that Hussein was lying
36:09in the first round before I won the money because I had the grand.
36:12I mean, I know for a fact she didn't have the zero because I sadly gifted that to share,
36:19but I'd like to know more about your sort of strong points in general knowledge.
36:25Things like sport, music, geography, those sort of things I can be quite good on.
36:31I think I've got that pop culture sort of my era. I mean, I got the Timothee Chalamet one quite quickly.
36:39I'm going to have to ask you for a decision, Richard.
36:42For me, it's based on the trust and where the cards have been a little bit too tight to the chest
36:49and maybe not being quite so open with the sharing of information and, you know, more sort of like
36:56modern celebrities. It's a weak point for me. Who are you going to choose, Richard?
37:03I would like to keep Asterix in the final. You're going to keep Asterix in the final.
37:07And commiserations to Dennis. Once again, you got so close. You've done so well this week.
37:13It's been so frustrating for you, but you've been a really good sport. Have you had a good week?
37:18Yeah, it's been a brilliant week. You've done yourself proud. You have, however,
37:21been cast out of the inner circle.
37:29Our final two. It's time for the cash builder. This is the last chance for Richard and Asterix
37:35to work together to add some money to their combined secret stash. Remember, I'm still not
37:41completely certain what money is left in the game, but here's a quick reminder of your money amounts
37:47for everyone at home. Okay, you are now playing together to add to your combined stash. I'm going
37:55to give you £100 for each correct answer, and you've got 60 seconds to get through as many as you can.
38:01But my advice to you is to say pass if you don't know, because I cannot move on until I get a right
38:06answer. Best of luck to you both. Richard, I'm going to start with you. Let's play.
38:11Which organ in the body does an electrocardiogram monitor?
38:19The heart. Correct. In 2024, Kyle Smith Bino took over as the presenter of the TV show The Great
38:27British What? Bake Off. No. Oh, pass.
38:31Sewing B. In which film does Leonardo DiCaprio play the character Jordan Belfort?
38:36The Wolf of Wall Street. Correct. Levi Strauss is famous for manufacturing jeans
38:41made from which cotton fabric? Denim. Correct. The Egyptian goddess Bastet is
38:46often depicted in the form of which domesticated animal? Cat. Yes. The 2024 UK top 10 single
38:53Apatah is by Bruno Mars and which Blackpink member?
39:01I'm not going to get it past. It's rosé. Which word can be used for a magical being,
39:05a string of brightly coloured bulbs and a small individual cake? Fairy. Correct.
39:10The towns of Luton and Dunstable are located in which historic English county?
39:19It was Bedfordshire. Oh, I wouldn't have got it anyways.
39:23Don't worry, it did really well. You answered five questions correctly,
39:27meaning you've added £500 onto your combined cash stash. Well done.
39:31Richard and Asterix had the chance to work together, but now the inner circle has one final test for them.
39:39It's time to play Split or Shaft.
39:44OK, everything has led to this point. Remember that you are playing for your combined cash total.
39:51I'm still not sure what you've both got hidden away. Only the viewers at home know what you are truly worth.
39:57We now have three possible outcomes. You can win together and half the cash, but only if you both decide to split.
40:04You can lose together and go home with nothing if you both choose to Shaft.
40:10Or if we see a split and a Shaft, the Shafter wins it all.
40:15Richard and Asterix, it is now time for you to have a little chat about how you would like to play this.
40:20Yes, I'm happy it's come to this point. I mean, I feel like we've trusted each other from the start.
40:25I trust that you've told the truth about the amount that you have. I think we're paying for quite
40:29a big amount of money to share. You know, I trust you. I think you're going to share with me.
40:34I think let's share it. Both go home winners.
40:36I believe that you have the £2,000. Worst case scenario, you lied, you got £1,000.
40:42We've been here, we've had a great day. And to go home with more than £2,500, you've got to be happy with that.
40:47Yeah, I'm more than happy with that. It's time to lock in your decisions.
41:01OK, Richard, please tell me how much was in your secret stash at the very start of this game?
41:08At the very start of the game, I had nothing. Amazing. And then you swapped with Shaft and received...
41:15£4,000. OK, brilliant.
41:18Asterix, what did you start with?
41:19I started the game with £1,000. That's how I knew Hussein was lying.
41:23OK. I've told the truth the whole time.
41:25And then, of course, you won the £1,000.
41:28In the first round, yeah.
41:29So you have £2,000. Indeed.
41:32As you said. Well, added to the £500 that you brought through from the cash builder,
41:38that means you're playing for a combined total of £6,500.
41:43What would you spend the money on, Richard?
41:45Well, my house is in a state of disrepair, so I think I'm not going to see any of it.
41:50The wife will have that spent on the back garden.
41:52Fantastic. Well, if you need me and Alan Carr to come and help you, we will.
41:57What would you spend the money on, Asterix?
41:59Enough to go somewhere warm and sunny for a bit.
42:01That's definitely fine. Maybe Malta.
42:04Somewhere sunny and a lot of drinks while we're there.
42:06Fantastic. OK.
42:08Well, it is time to reveal.
42:11If you have decided to split or shaft in a circle,
42:15will you please reveal today's decision?
42:17You little shafters!
42:36You little shafters!
42:40Oh, my gosh.
42:41You both decided to shaft, which means today's cash total has been chucked in the bin
42:47and you're both leaving with absolutely nothing.
42:49I knew it.
42:51Was that your game plan from the start, Richard?
42:53Uh, no.
42:56I knew you were going to do that.
42:58How were you going to play?
42:59I don't know. I was honestly going to split until the last minute.
43:02I just, something about your face when we were chatting.
43:05I just got the hint that you were not being truthful with me.
43:08Well, that's it.
43:10They are going home with no money at all.
43:13Who would you trust and how would you play the game?
43:16We'll see you next time here on The Inner Circle.
43:23We'll see you next time.
