00:00Welcome to the Inner Circle, the game where trust is as important as knowledge.
00:06I know that you're bluffing.
00:07You don't.
00:08He's trying to frame me to be a liar, and I'm really not.
00:10The aim of the game, get the most money and the best brains into the final.
00:15To win, the players need to be strategic and outsmart the rest.
00:20Then they take their secret stash of cash and the person they trust the most to the final.
00:25What's made important, money off the handship.
00:27Oof, where two players will face the ultimate decision.
00:30Split the prize money and walk away as equals.
00:33Hooray!
00:35Or attempt to take it all by shafting the other player and leaving them with nothing.
00:39You little shafters!
00:42But the question is, who would you trust?
00:47I'm Nicola, I'm from Bracknell, I'm semi-retired, I'm a motter in life,
00:52and for this game is, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
00:56I'm Aaron, a Bristol-based store manager and yoga teacher.
01:00I played the last game in child's pose, but now my third eye is open.
01:05I'm Vicky, and I'm a bereavement officer from Nottingham.
01:09Some say I'm a little bit like Marmite.
01:11Some like me, some don't.
01:13Let's just hope this lot do.
01:16I'm Shaz from Hollingworth, I'm a retired sub-postmaster, and I want to put my stamp on this show.
01:21I'm Nicky from North Devon.
01:23I'm all about saying yes to new experiences.
01:25And if this one ends in cash, all the better.
01:29I'm Joe, I'm based in Manchester, and I like to think I'm someone people can trust.
01:34I just hope they return the favour.
01:36Welcome, everyone.
01:40You are about to face four rounds.
01:43After every round, one of you will be eliminated.
01:46However, if you win, you will secure immunity for that round, meaning you'll be safe from elimination.
01:53Plus, you'll receive a game-changing power.
01:56However, it's a good one, it could give you the advantage you need to get you one step closer to that final.
02:02Remember, only two of you will make it there.
02:06Anyone that's eliminated will be back tomorrow, though, to have another go, so it's not all bad.
02:11We've got some new faces to the inner circle.
02:14Nicola and Shaz, welcome.
02:18Nicola, you're dabbling in retirement.
02:22What does that mean?
02:23I'm partly retired, so I'm taking pensions, and I have a job.
02:27I've been working for 40 years, and it's a hard habit to give up, really.
02:30Absolutely. It's good to keep the brain going.
02:32Yes, definitely.
02:33So, do you quiz at home?
02:35I like to. I like to do crosswords, encrypted clues, word search, things like that.
02:40OK, well, best of luck today.
02:42Shaz, a retired sub postmaster.
02:45That's right.
02:46You're obviously used to dealing with different kinds of people behind the glass.
02:49Does that mean you never let your guard down?
02:51Never.
02:52Oh, look at that.
02:54Not only that, you tend to be able to judge people as they walk through the door.
02:59Really?
03:00Yes.
03:01Gosh.
03:02Well, listen, we'll catch up a little bit later on.
03:05Let's talk money.
03:07Earlier on, the inner circle randomly assigned each player a secret stash of money.
03:12One of them will be absolutely penniless, and one of them will have a very tasty £4,000.
03:19So for our players, inner circle, please reveal the secret stashes.
03:26And for you at home, you can now see everyone's secret stash amount too, so you always know where the cash is.
03:32I would love to know what our players have, but they don't trust me, and they don't tell me till the very end.
03:47Your mission is now simple.
03:49You've got four rounds to get yourself and some big money into the finals.
03:53So whoever bags the most points will secure immunity and pocket that first power, which is a very lovely £1,000 to add to your secret stash.
04:07It's time to play round one, moving in circles.
04:13I'll ask a question.
04:14All our players need to do is stand in the section with the correct answer to score one point.
04:19If they're brave enough to correctly go it alone, they'll score three points.
04:23I wonder whether you will take a chance or follow the herd.
04:27After each question, you will have seven seconds to stand on the answer, and you need to be poised and ready to make your decision,
04:35because that seven seconds flies past.
04:38Let's play!
04:42Your options are wig and slappy, groaty dick, beef on weck.
04:50Your question is, which of these is not a traditional British dish?
05:05Well, I've never heard of any of them, and some of them were very dodgy to say in the afternoon.
05:12Inner Circle, please, will you reveal the correct answer?
05:17So it was beef on weck for one point, which is a beef sandwich from Buffalo, New York.
05:24I dread to think what a groaty dick is.
05:28Oh, wait a moment, it's a beef stew from a black country.
05:33And a Wigan slappy is a pie in a buttered roll, and that, of course, is eaten in Wigan.
05:39Thank gosh we cleared that up.
05:41Okay!
05:42I can't believe they trusted me with that question.
05:44Your options are Annie Lennox, Lennox Lewis and Lewis Hamilton.
05:50And your question is, which of these people was born in the 1960s?
05:56Which of these people were born in the 1960s?
05:59Ooh, so Nicola's gone alone on Lennox Lewis.
06:10Vicky, Nicky, Aaron, Joe and Shaz are on Annie Lennox.
06:15The correct answer is...
06:18Lennox Lewis.
06:19Well done, Nicola. Three points.
06:21Well done.
06:22Annie Lennox would be delighted that you thought that.
06:24She was born in 1954.
06:26Lewis Hamilton is obviously a child, 1985.
06:29Okay, the inner circle's gonna make things a little bit more tricky now.
06:33You're gonna have four possible answers.
06:35And they are...
06:36Man, leap, step and giant.
06:41Your question is, which of these words appears earliest
06:45in Neil Armstrong's famous 1969 quote
06:49when he first stepped on the moon?
06:52The earliest word in that famous quote.
06:59Oh, my goodness. Split again.
07:02So we've got Aaron and Nicky on man.
07:05Nicola and Shaz on giant.
07:07And we've got Vicky on leap.
07:09And we've got Joe on step.
07:11You've both been very brave, you two.
07:13Let's see who's correct.
07:15Well, Joe, well done.
07:18Three points.
07:19That's one small step for man.
07:22One giant leap for mankind.
07:25Your options are...
07:27Thumb, heel bone, kneecap, armpit.
07:31Your question is...
07:33Pollux is the medical term for which part of the human body?
07:37Thumb, heel bone, kneecap or armpit?
07:41Go, go, go, go.
07:46Oh!
07:47See, I knew you could do leaps in those heels, Nicky.
07:50Well done.
07:51Nicky and Shaz are on kneecap.
07:54And then we have Nicola and Aaron on thumb.
07:57And we've got Joe and Vicky on heel bone.
08:00Inner circle, please reveal the correct answer.
08:03Well done, Aaron and Nicola.
08:05OK, last chance to win some points.
08:07Remember, there are three points up for grabs.
08:09If you correctly, go it alone.
08:11Your options are...
08:14One, two, three and four.
08:19Your question is...
08:21In Thomas and Friends, what number engine is Thomas the Tank Engine?
08:25What number is Thomas the Tank Engine?
08:28You've got four seconds.
08:30I don't know.
08:32OK, I've got some brave souls.
08:37So, Shaz has gone for three.
08:38Nicola's gone for one.
08:39We've got Nicky and Vicky on four.
08:42And we've got Aaron and Joe on two.
08:45Inner circle, please reveal the correct answer.
08:48It paid off, Nicola.
08:50Well done.
08:51Three points.
08:52Thomas was number one.
08:53Number two is Edward.
08:55Three is Henry.
08:56And four is Gordon.
08:57Nicola, was that a guess?
08:59Yes.
09:00Yeah.
09:01Number one.
09:04OK, well that was the last question.
09:06Please return to your podiums.
09:11Inner circle, please reveal who's won the round.
09:17Nicola, congratulations.
09:20You've won the first round.
09:21First day?
09:22Yes.
09:23Done very, very well.
09:24Amazing.
09:25How do you feel?
09:26Pretty elated at the moment.
09:27I'm not surprised.
09:28Well, listen, as the winner, you've secured your spot in the next round.
09:31And you've won the first power, which is lovely.
09:34It's £1,000 to add to your secret stash.
09:39Does that make you feel happier?
09:42I'm doing all right.
09:43She's doing all right.
09:44She's doing all right.
09:45She's doing all right.
09:47OK.
09:48It is time for the first vote.
09:50One of you and your secret stash is about to be eliminated.
09:57Nicola, you have immunity, so you're safe for the moment.
10:00For the rest of you, though, you need to fight to stay in the game.
10:03Remember, you need the most money and the best brains in that final.
10:07That's your motivation.
10:09Over to you.
10:10The floor is open.
10:12Joe, can I ask you, why should I trust you?
10:15I'm sitting here with a tidy lump, bit of good money here.
10:18Uh-huh.
10:19Why should I trust you and know that you're not going to shaft me?
10:22Yeah.
10:23I've said from day one throughout this whole game that I would split.
10:26OK.
10:27I hate the thought of all of us getting to this point, getting through the final.
10:32And although I know it's very kumbaya, I just, I don't have it in me to be like that much of a snake.
10:40And what pot have you got?
10:41It's not the biggest pot, but it's enough to put into the shared amount for sure.
10:46OK.
10:47OK.
10:48On that, Aaron, out of all of us getting allocated our money, you had the biggest grin.
10:53The cheekiest grin ever.
10:55Like, I don't know, is that good, bad?
10:57Like, what's that about?
10:58Trying to hide the dodgy eyebrows, but yeah.
11:00Yeah, no, I'm happy.
11:01I'm happy with my amount of shares.
11:03So, from a scale of caravan parts up to first-class flights to paradise, how much would your pot get you on your honeymoon?
11:11It'll get me far enough.
11:13I wouldn't need a parachute.
11:18It is now time for you to lock in your decisions.
11:23OK, let's find out who's going to be cast out of the inner circle first.
11:39Nicola, I'll start with you.
11:41Who's got your vote?
11:42Shaz.
11:43Oh.
11:44He's too clever.
11:46Fair enough.
11:48Don't forget, you do need the brains in the final as well as the cash.
11:53Aaron, who are you casting out of the inner circle?
11:56I voted for Shaz.
11:58Like I said, I couldn't read Shaz at all, and I think he was playing like a poker face.
12:04Vicky, who are you casting out?
12:06I felt this very hard, but I'm voting off Nicky.
12:11I still say Nicky and Joe have got something going on.
12:15I think they're in it together.
12:17They've been there from the beginning.
12:19I think I just needed to take one of them out of the equation.
12:22OK.
12:23I'm loving this, Miss Marple.
12:25Who's got your vote?
12:28I voted for Vicky.
12:30I just didn't think you got enough answers right.
12:35Vicky, who are you casting out of the inner circle?
12:39I voted for Shaz.
12:42I don't think you have much money.
12:46Joe, who are you casting out?
12:48I voted for Vicky.
12:50I felt like she was going for me, and based on performance as well.
12:55And also my level of trust with her.
12:58That was my vote.
12:59Well, Shaz, very sadly, that is three votes for you.
13:03It's not the end, though.
13:05You'll be back tomorrow.
13:06Ready to fight another day?
13:07I'll fight. I'll fight harder next time.
13:09Brilliant. Well, we'll see you soon.
13:11But for now, you have been cast out of the inner circle.
13:17Oh, my goodness.
13:18Well, there was a lot of finger-pointing there.
13:20And Shaz has fallen foul of the first cast-out.
13:24Have they made the right choices?
13:26Or has Shaz taken the big money with him?
13:29Only you at home know the truth.
13:32With one person down, it is now time for round two.
13:35This time, as well as immunity, the power on offer is peak.
13:40Now, this could really shake things up
13:42because you will be able to have a sneaky peak
13:45at someone's secret stash.
13:48And given that your ultimate goal
13:49is to get as much money as possible into that final,
13:52this could give you a real boost.
13:55It's time for round two, Circle of Clues.
13:59For each question, I'll read out a series of three clues.
14:03The quicker you buzz in with the correct link,
14:06the more points you will win.
14:08So as soon as you think you know, just buzz in.
14:10Be really quick on that buzzer.
14:12But remember, if you get it wrong,
14:14you will be frozen out of the rest of that question.
14:17Time to get your brains in gear.
14:19Let's play.
14:20Question one.
14:24Can you name the country linked by these three clues?
14:28When measured from coast to coast,
14:30this country is wider than the moon.
14:37Next clue for two points.
14:39The Great Barrier Reef is on the eastern...
14:41Yes, Aaron?
14:42Australia.
14:43Yes, well done.
14:44Two points for you.
14:45Question number two.
14:47Can you name the historical artefact linked by these three clues?
14:52It was discovered in 1799 by Napoleon's soldiers in North East Africa.
14:56Yes, Nicola.
14:57Rosetta Stone.
14:59Well done, you.
14:59Straight off the mark and three points.
15:02Question three.
15:03Can you name the festival linked by these three clues?
15:06Your first clue is...
15:08This festival takes place in an area of England
15:10known as the Vale of Avalon.
15:11Yes, Vicky.
15:12Glastonbury.
15:13Well done.
15:14Three points for you.
15:16Question number four.
15:17Can you name the insect linked by these clues?
15:20There are more than 250 different species of this insect in the UK.
15:29Next clue for two points.
15:31It is a symbol for the city of Manchester.
15:34Yes, Joe.
15:35V.
15:35Well done.
15:37OK, this is the last question.
15:40Can you name the city linked by these clues?
15:43The subway system in this city is referred to as the clockwork orange.
15:47Yes, Aaron.
15:48New York.
15:49I'm afraid that's not.
15:50You're frozen out.
15:51Restart the clock.
15:57For two points.
15:59A Duke of Wellington statue in this city is famously capped with a traffic cone.
16:03Yes, Nicola.
16:04That was good.
16:05It is indeed.
16:07Two points for you.
16:09And that's the end of the round.
16:14In a circle, please will you reveal the player with the most points?
16:20Bingo, Nicola.
16:21Hello.
16:22Once again, you have won the round.
16:25Well done.
16:26Well, listen, as the winner, you have just secured your place in the next round.
16:30And you've won the second power, which is a sneaky peek, at someone's secret stash.
16:35Oh, hey.
16:36So, who are you going to go for?
16:38Aaron's.
16:39Aaron.
16:40Okey-dokey.
16:41Any particular reason?
16:43Hmm, I've got my suspicions, what's going on over there.
16:46OK, OK, in a circle.
16:48Please will you let Nicola have a peek at Aaron's secret stash?
16:52Very nice.
16:57Well, we're heading for another casting out.
17:03It's time for the second vote.
17:06Who do you think should stay?
17:08Who needs to go?
17:09One wrong move could cost them the game.
17:12Another player and their secret stash is about to leave.
17:15Plus, I wonder if Nicola will let on about what she just saw.
17:20Over to you.
17:21The floor is open.
17:22Nicola.
17:23Hello.
17:23Is Aaron worth saving?
17:27Yes.
17:28Yes?
17:28I think so, yes.
17:30Yeah?
17:31Yeah.
17:32OK.
17:32Aaron, so, would you split or shuff me?
17:37So, I've said from the word go that I would totally always split,
17:41because, you know, we're here, like I said, for the memories, for a good time
17:44and a little bit of pocket money on the way home.
17:46Thanks, Aaron.
17:47Nicky, I saw you saying that you were a little bit nervous
17:51and a little, you just seem a little bit different today.
17:54Is that because you've got...
17:55I do, and I don't even know why.
17:57Is it because you've got a big amount of money?
17:58Is it because you're scared of being exposed?
18:02Mmm.
18:05I couldn't say.
18:06How many of those dresses is that?
18:10Oh, I can buy more.
18:13An expensive dress.
18:15Nicky, I don't think anyone's actually asked you.
18:17What's your decision?
18:17Well, do you know what?
18:19I had such a bad ride of it.
18:22No one knows what my job involves as a bereavement officer.
18:25Every day, I see families squabbling over granny's inheritance.
18:32Oh.
18:33And that is, to me, is wrong.
18:37It's rude.
18:38Why can't people be amicable and share it?
18:42So, for all the other reasons everybody thought I would shaft,
18:46that's not me.
18:47I feel like Nicky would split.
18:50Vicky, I'm still 50-50 with.
18:52Aaron and Nicola,
18:54they've got the who's stash is bigger competition going on at the moment.
18:58It kind of makes sense to keep them two in,
19:00but then, I don't know, really.
19:02It is now time for you to lock in your decisions.
19:15The votes are in.
19:16Nicola, tell me.
19:17Who are you casting out?
19:18I'm afraid it's Nicky.
19:21Those dresses are expensive.
19:25I think she shaft me so she can buy some more.
19:29Aaron, who's got your vote?
19:31So, I voted for Joe.
19:34I just couldn't read him this time.
19:36Nicola's got a different energy about her,
19:37but Joe, you kind of wanted to see a bit more enthusiasm
19:40if you had the four grand or something,
19:42so I just couldn't read you this time.
19:44Vicky, who are you casting out?
19:46I'm casting out Joe
19:49because he doesn't trust me.
19:52Oh.
19:54I feel that Joe thinks I've got an ulterior motive
19:57and I haven't, Joe.
20:00Nicky, who are you casting out?
20:01I'm casting out Vicky
20:03because she keeps thinking I'm plotting
20:06with other members and I'm not.
20:10OK, fair enough.
20:11Joe, who are you casting out?
20:13Vicky.
20:15I don't feel like there's been more evidence
20:18since my last vote,
20:19so I've just stuck to my first vote for now.
20:21So, Vicky and Joe,
20:23you are tied on two votes each,
20:25which means, Nicola,
20:26it's up to you to decide
20:28between the two of them.
20:29Vicky or Joe,
20:32who are you going to go for?
20:33Oh, this is so hard for me.
20:35But I'm going to have to say,
20:36us girls stick together.
20:38Bye, Joe.
20:38Oh, Joe, not again!
20:43No, no, no.
20:43Oh, my gosh!
20:45I just love it here.
20:46Do you know what?
20:47I've just got to miss you too much.
20:49How many more Cardis have you got?
20:50Have you got enough to last the week?
20:51I haven't got as many cool ones as this,
20:54but I've got to, yeah,
20:55I think I'm really out of pants,
20:56to be fair, that's my main...
20:57Well, you'll have to hand wash someone,
20:59stick them on your hotel radiator
21:00because you're going to be back tomorrow.
21:03But for now,
21:04you are cast out of the inner circle.
21:08There's just two more chances
21:11to win immunity and a power
21:13that could help our players
21:14get through to that final.
21:16And this time, that power is swap.
21:20So if you win this round,
21:22you can swap stashes with any player.
21:25So if your secret stash is a little bit low,
21:27you really want to win this one.
21:29It's a great one.
21:30It's time for round three,
21:32connecting circles.
21:33It's a pairs game,

26:02Wow,
26:02you're really doing so well.
26:04You've won that round again.
26:05Thank you, yeah.
26:06Well, listen,
26:07you've won that immunity
26:08and the crucial power.
26:09You can now
26:10make a swap
26:12or you can keep
26:13what you've got.
26:15Would you like to swap
26:16and if you do,
26:17who with?
26:18No, I'm happy
26:19with what I've got.
26:20She's happy
26:21with what she's got,
26:22everybody.
26:23So,
26:24this might mean
26:25you already have
26:26some big money,
26:27potentially.
26:28I'm happy
26:28with what I've got.
26:29She's happy
26:30with what she's got
26:31and that's the end of it.
26:33That's right.
26:34What would you spend
26:35the money on?
26:36I'd like to think
26:37about doing some travel.
26:38OK.
26:39Anywhere particular?
26:40Switzerland would be nice.
26:42Nice?
26:42Yeah,
26:43just to sort of
26:43see the mountains,
26:45go to the Lindt factory,
26:46I've just discovered.
26:47It's open to the public.
26:48Great.
26:49You can make chocolate bunnies
26:50if you want.
26:51Fantastic.
26:52So,
26:52this is what we know
26:54so far.
26:55Nicola's scored
26:56a hat trick of wins.
26:58She's been immune
26:59from every cast out.
27:01She also added
27:02£1,000 from that
27:03first power.
27:05She then had a peek
27:06at Aaron's stash
27:07and has now chosen
27:08not to swap.
27:10But remember,
27:11it's all still
27:12to play for
27:13in the next round.
27:15For now, though,
27:16it's time to make
27:17a big decision.
27:21Welcome to the sharp end
27:22of the game.
27:23Only two of you
27:24can get to the final.
27:25It's time
27:26to get your stories straight.
27:28Over to you.
27:30The floor is open.
27:32Let's go, then.
27:34Question.
27:35You seem very confident,
27:37Nicky,
27:38that you've got
27:39a cash pot.
27:40Now, I know
27:41what's in mine
27:42and I'm happy
27:43with mine,
27:43so I'm not quite sure
27:45if you're bluffing me.
27:47How confident
27:48are you
27:49that you have got
27:50a good pot?
27:51Very confident.
27:52Very confident.
27:54Would you shaft me?
27:55What a question.
28:02No.
28:03As I've said
28:04all along,
28:04in every single thing,
28:05I've been honest
28:06all the way through,
28:07that hasn't changed.
28:08So, Nicola,
28:09I see that we had
28:10a bomb from the word go.
28:11You had a look
28:11at my stash.
28:12You liked what you saw.
28:14I think we built
28:14a bit of trust there.
28:15I think,
28:15should we just sit back,
28:16have a couple of margaritas,
28:17watch the girls
28:18weigh out amongst themselves,
28:20so we could share the pot.
28:21That's all right.
28:22Yeah,
28:22we'll run up into the sunset
28:23with the shared pot
28:25at the end of it,
28:26so over to you, girls.
28:28Nicola,
28:29I'm off again.
28:31We've got on
28:31from the beginning.
28:32I think we had
28:33a bit of something
28:34going on.
28:36Again,
28:37like with Nicky,
28:38I've got a damn good pot here.
28:40I'm not saying
28:41you're a fibber,
28:42but I think you might
28:44be buffing me a bit here
28:46because mine's
28:47blinking good.
28:48Really?
28:49Yep.
28:50I think
28:50you and I
28:51in the final,
28:52we could go home laughing.
28:54OK, Nicola,
28:55what are you thinking
28:56about all this banter?
28:57Don't roll rubbish.
29:01And on that,
29:02let's lock in
29:03those decisions,
29:04shall we?
29:12Nicola,
29:13tell me,
29:14who are you casting out?
29:16Last time,
29:17when I said
29:17us girls stick together,
29:19this time,
29:19I've changed my mind
29:20and it's Vicky.
29:22OK.
29:23I think she's bluffing.
29:24I don't think
29:24her pot is big
29:25as she makes out.
29:26Vicky,
29:27who are you casting out?
29:28I'm voting out
29:29Nicky.
29:31Because I don't
29:32think she's
29:34saying she's got
29:35a good pot.
29:36I think her pot's
29:37not as big as mine.
29:38Nicky,
29:39who's got your vote?
29:41I'm voting out
29:42Vicky.
29:43because I think
29:44she's bluffing.
29:46Aaron,
29:46who are you casting out?
29:48So I voted
29:49Nicky.
29:51I just feel
29:52there's a different
29:52energy from Nicky
29:53today and I feel
29:54like this isn't
29:54her time to win.
29:55She'll get the big
29:56amount one day
29:56but this isn't
29:57the day.
29:58Vicky and Nicky,
29:59you are tied
30:00on two votes
30:01each,
30:02which means
30:02Nicola.
30:03Once again,
30:04it is up to you
30:05to choose
30:06between these
30:07two.
30:10OK.
30:14All right,
30:14this is so hard,
30:15so difficult
30:16but I will
30:18have to go
30:19with
30:20Nicky.
30:22So you voted
30:23for Vicky
30:23but you're
30:24going to go
30:24for Nicky?
30:25Yes.
30:25Why is that?
30:27Reasoning it
30:28through again
30:28and just listening
30:29to the last
30:30comments,
30:30I think you
30:31may have a
30:31point.
30:32Nicky.
30:34Yet again.
30:35So close.
30:37You even
30:38worn a very
30:39winning dress,
30:40I felt.
30:40I was like,
30:41she's come
30:42to win today.
30:44Have you got
30:44another sparkly
30:45one for tomorrow?
30:46I will find
30:47one.
30:47Find one.
30:48Go and do
30:49a quick shop.
30:50Thank you so
30:51much but you
30:51are now cast
30:52out of the
30:53inner circle.
30:57We have
30:57our final
30:58three players.
30:59Congratulations
31:00to you all
31:01for making
31:01it this far.
31:03However,
31:03only two of
31:04them can make
31:05it through to
31:05the final
31:06and be in
31:06with a chance
31:07of walking
31:07away with
31:08their combined
31:08stash.
31:10I am still
31:10not certain
31:11how much
31:12money is left
31:13in the game.
31:14The winner
31:14of this last
31:15round wins
31:16that final
31:17power and
31:17will control
31:18who joins
31:19them in the
31:20final.
31:21It's time
31:22for our last
31:22round.
31:23Circle Circuit.
31:24It's our very
31:25own racing game.
31:26The first player
31:27to get right
31:28round the circuit
31:29wins.
31:30I'm going to
31:30ask each of
31:31you a true
31:32or false
31:32question.
31:33You just
31:34need to
31:34give me
31:34a correct
31:35answer.
31:35Once you
31:36do,
31:36you'll get
31:36to roll
31:37the dice
31:37and then
31:38you will
31:38just move
31:39that number
31:39of spaces.
31:41Nicola,
31:41you're going
31:41to be in
31:42pink.
31:43Vicky,
31:43you're in
31:44yellow.
31:44And Aaron,
31:45you're in
31:46blue.
31:46This is a mix
31:47of general
31:48knowledge and
31:49a little bit
31:50of luck.
31:50So I wonder
31:51who has the
31:52brains and
31:52the luck to
31:53complete the
31:54circuit.
31:54We'll find

34:25This is very
34:26exciting.
34:27Aaron, the
34:28inventor of the
34:29flush toilet was
34:30a man named

34:52positive energy.
34:53Yeah, I feel good
34:54vibes.
34:54I feel like I know
34:55where I'm going with
34:56this one.
34:56I feel like it's been
34:57a brilliant game.
34:58Great.
34:59Well, listen, you
35:00have also won the
35:01power to control
35:02the vote.
35:06Remember, you need
35:07someone that you can
35:08trust and someone
35:10that can help increase
35:11your stash in that
35:12cash builder.
35:14Nicola and Vicky, it's
35:15now time to convince
35:16Aaron why it should be
35:17you taken through to
35:18the final.
35:19Should we start with
35:19you, Nicola?
35:20OK.
35:21Well, hopefully my
35:22track record has proved
35:23itself.
35:24Up until now, I've been
35:25the leader of the pack.
35:27So, hopefully, I can go
35:28forward with you.
35:30Vicky.
35:32Aaron.
35:34Don't try that.
35:35Aaron, Aaron.
35:36Here we go.
35:39I could be the dark
35:41horse here.
35:42You haven't seen my
35:43full potential.
35:44Take me with you and
35:46we'll share.
35:47Well, I felt like I was
35:48on a blind date then.
35:49Oh, yeah.
35:52Aaron, who do you
35:53want to take through to
35:54the final?
35:57I'm going to take
35:58Nicola through to
35:58the final.
35:59I feel that Nicola's
36:00been there with me from
36:01the start.
36:02She peed to my bark.
36:03She's been really
36:04confident in the
36:04gameplay.
36:05We're going to have a
36:05really good cash builder.
36:07Vicky, I think you're
36:08wonderful.
36:08There's a big pot waiting
36:09for you, but again,
36:10today isn't the day for
36:11you.
36:11So, I'm taking Nicola to
36:12the final.
36:14OK.
36:15Commiserations to you,
36:16Vicky.
36:16You got very close.
36:17You played a great game.
36:19Gave us some laughs.
36:20You'll be back tomorrow.
36:21We will.
36:22But for now, you have
36:23been cast out of the
36:24inner circle.
36:25Our final two.
36:32It's time for the cash
36:33builder.
36:34This is the last chance for
36:36Nicola and Aaron to work
36:37together and add some money
36:39to their combined secret
36:40stash.
36:41Remember, I am still not
36:43absolutely certain what money
36:44is left in the game.
36:46So, here's a quick reminder
36:47of your money for everyone
36:49at home.
36:49You are now playing
36:52together to add to your
36:54combined stash.
36:55I'm going to give you £100
36:56for each correct answer.
36:58You've got 60 seconds to get
36:59through as many as you can,
37:01but my advice would be to
37:02pass if you don't know,
37:04because I cannot move on to
37:05the other person until one of
37:07you gets an answer right.

38:26But you did ever so well.
38:27You scored five questions
38:29correctly, meaning you've added
38:31a very lovely £500
38:32onto your combined cash stash.
38:35How are we feeling?
38:37Ooh, excited.
38:38And happy it's over.
38:40Yeah, definitely.
38:41How about you, Aaron?
38:43You good?
38:43Yeah, no, good.
38:44Fantastic.
38:45Yeah, that's cool.
38:46Well, Nicola and Aaron
38:47had the chance to work together,
38:49but now the inner circle
38:50has one final test
38:52for them both.
38:53It's time to play
38:55Split
38:55or Shaft.
38:57Everything has led
39:01to this point.
39:02Remember that you are playing
39:04for your combined cash total.
39:07I still don't know
39:08what you've both got
39:09hidden away.
39:10Only the viewers at home
39:11know what you're truly worth.
39:13We now have
39:14three possible outcomes.
39:16You can win together
39:17and halve the cash,
39:19but only if you both
39:20decide to split.
39:21You can lose together
39:22and go home with nothing
39:23if you both choose
39:25to Shaft or if we see
39:27a split and a Shaft,
39:29the Shafter wins it all.
39:32Nicola and Aaron,
39:32it's now time for you
39:33to both have a little chat
39:34about how you want
39:35to play this.
39:38So, Nicola, I think,
39:39you know, I've done
39:40a bit of travelling
39:40and stuff like that.
39:41You don't need a lot of money
39:42to go travelling.
39:43You can do it a bit
39:44on a budget.
39:44You don't need that much
39:45Lindt chocolate,
39:46so let's split.
39:49I only need a...
39:49Other chocolate brands
39:50are available.
39:51Yes.
39:52I only need a small amount
39:53just to, you know,
39:54for a little bit of equipment
39:55for a podcast
39:55and to just get me going
39:56on a little project
39:57I want to do, like,
39:58to make some people's lives
39:59a little bit better,
40:00so let's split.
40:01Oh, you're so charming,
40:02aren't you?
40:03Oh, look at that lovely smile.
40:05Well, it's very tricky,
40:06it's very difficult,
40:08but I hear what you're saying
40:09and I'm going to take
40:10that on board.
40:11It's time to lock in
40:13your decisions.
40:24Both happy?
40:25Locked in.
40:29Nicola, please tell me,
40:30how much was in your secret stash
40:32at the very start of the game?
40:34£4,000.
40:35Wow.
40:36So you had £4,000
40:37at the very beginning.
40:39You kept that quiet.
40:41I did, didn't I?
40:42And then you won the thousand.
40:43I did indeed.
40:44Oh, my goodness.
40:45Aaron, what did you start with?
40:47I had a thousand in my stash.
40:50Also very tasty.
40:52Well, added to the £500
40:54that you brought through
40:55from the cash builder,
40:56that means you're playing
40:58for a combined total
40:59of £6,500.
41:02That's nearly the maximum amount.
41:04That's fantastic.
41:05What would you spend
41:06the money on, Nicola?
41:06I still think I'd like
41:08to do some travelling.
41:09Yeah?
41:09Yeah.
41:10Switzerland?
41:11A bit further afield, yes.
41:12Maybe to the next country.
41:16Aaron, what would you spend
41:17the money on?
41:18Yes, a bit of podcast equipment,
41:20maybe a little holiday as well.
41:21Just some, yeah,
41:22a little bit of, I don't know,
41:23invest a little bit of money
41:24in myself.
41:25OK, well, it is now time
41:27to reveal if you've decided
41:29to split or shaft
41:31in a circle.
41:33Please, will you reveal
41:34today's decision?
41:35Oh, you little shafters!
41:58Oh, my gosh!
42:00So you both decided to shaft?
42:03You were just too, Charlie.
42:05Did you not trust him?
42:07No.
42:08And you didn't trust him?
42:08You couldn't look me
42:09in the eye, I could see that.
42:11Oh, my gosh!
42:12That means today's cash
42:13has been thrown away
42:14and you are both leaving
42:16with absolutely nothing.
42:18Nothing, never mind.
42:20Was that your game plan
42:21from the start, Aaron?
42:23No, no, actually,
42:24but, like, I was going to go,
42:25like I've said from the way
42:26I go, that I'm going to split.
42:27Like I said, I'm not being greedy,
42:28but Nicola really couldn't
42:29look me in the eye.
42:30So I was like, come on,
42:31give me something to go on.
42:32There was no hope.
42:33That's too much of a poker face,
42:34wasn't it?
42:35Yeah, no, no, I couldn't see
42:36from it.
42:37There was no hope.
42:37And Nicola, what was your plan
42:39from the start then?
42:40Well, I was thinking
42:41of splitting, but I just thought...
42:43But not for long.
42:44Not for long.
42:45And I thought, why be generous?
42:47I've got a nice big pot here,
42:48I want it all for myself.
42:49Good for you, yeah.
42:51People play it in different ways.
42:52Who would you trust?
42:53And how would you play the game?
42:55We'll see you next time
42:56here on The Inner Circle.
42:58He, he, he, he, he.
43:00Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
