Overtime Rule Changes

00:00if you watch the bruins game last night and their overtime which is a wonderful format and has a lot

00:05of great stuff and i thought was compelling last night however the one fly in the ointment

00:09and there needs to be a big rule change is teams that intentionally bring the puck out of their

00:15offensive zone and the bruins did it like four times i want to say twice they just blindly passed

00:22it all the way back the length of the ice to corpus allo to handle and reset a couple times

00:28they just cycled out of the offensive zone and it defeats the whole purpose of the three-on-three

00:32it's the three-on-three is there to bring action not for this oh my god we've talked about this

00:36for a while and that last night was a glaring glaring example of it and it was your fault

00:40you were the one doing it and i guess it worked i mean you kept possession for most of the

00:45overtime but that's not what it's a very simple rule i don't know why they don't just do it have

00:49an over and back if you intentionally bring the puck out of your own zone and that's a little bit

00:54of a judgment call but so be it if the lines have been deemed that you have intentionally brought the

01:00puck out of your own offensive zone face off just like they have intentional offsides going into the

01:05zone and that's a judgment call too so make that a judge it's pretty obvious i mean if you just

01:11if you have control the puck and you sling it back to your goalie that's a face off and if you have

01:19full control the puck like poster knock did at least once maybe twice and he cycles back out

01:24into the neutral zone to get a guy on the ice that's not a penalty just a face off outside the

01:29zone he'll end it in one second and that's that yeah i'd be for that again it's it's tough because

01:33i don't want more policing of really any game but that when teams do this and again the bruins are

01:38responsible for it last night it's just greasy like this isn't the spirit of what they've changed

01:41overtime for people want action that's not action would you be okay going back to the center line

01:46uh i think that would kind of work too because i'm but i'm with you on this no nope uh because

01:51the passing back to the goalie is actually i think that i have less of a problem with that

01:57than a guy like pasta knock with possession of the puck cycling back to the red line that that's one i

02:03that i don't know passing it back to now your goalie has to handle the puck and you have to reset with

02:08the goalie handling the puck and that there can be some trouble there that's not to me as boring as

02:13but but they should both go and uh you saw it last night
