The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has implemented a 10% reduction in air traffic, citing air traffic control safety concerns. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated the measure aims to prevent further deterioration of air travel safety. FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford supported the decision, noting reduced scheduling pressure on air traffic controllers. The move comes amid a partial government shutdown that has left approximately 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 port security agents without pay.
