More than 16,500 people in Gaza are in urgent need of medical care, says the World Health Organization. Its chief urges more countries to receive patients who require treatment not available in the enclave.

00:07according to the World Health Organization.
00:09Its Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus,
00:12urges more countries to accept patients who require treatment not available in the Strip.
00:18He also called for all evacuation routes, including those from the West Bank,
00:23to be open to facilitate the transfer of patients in need.
00:26The WHO recently evacuated 19 critically ill patients from Gaza to Italy for specialised medical care.
00:34Despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the death toll in Gaza continues to climb.
00:39At least 241 people have been killed and another 609 injured since October 10,
00:45while more than 10,000 Palestinians remain buried under the rubble.
00:49Meanwhile, Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz,
00:52has ordered the military to destroy all Hamas tunnels in Gaza,
00:56saying it will lead to the group's downfall.
