00:00:40it out we're meant to be here this is your time thank you Brandon my journey has been a steady
00:00:47growth it was very difficult for me to make it it's literally been two months and probably like
00:00:52a day since my sister passed away well you did a beautiful job and you can consider this a tribute
00:00:58to her thank you this was the first look that came out it really set the tone and I've met a person
00:01:04that been through the things that I've been through and still being able to make a way for themselves
00:01:09go ahead girl you are on trend if not making your own trends
00:01:14Laurence you are always so exact and measured I want you to go back to that denim dress where you
00:01:28showed us a softer side of you revel in that freedom okay it's in you just show it I will to
00:01:37be here right now it feels like a great accomplishment this has been a long road I'm actually very much in
00:01:44awe it's damn near perfect thank you fashion has always been in my DNA since I was 16 so um I got
00:01:55pregnant when I was 16 and um I got a letter telling me that I was accepted to fashion school did you go to

00:04:18amazing
00:04:20hi
00:04:21hi Christian
00:04:23come in come in
00:04:24Christian Siriano's atelier
00:04:26it's beautiful and it's very inspiring
00:04:28inspiring he started from project runway and achieved all the success in the world so you
00:04:34have to believe that it's possible and that you'll you'll be there one day this is it you made it
00:04:41doesn't it feel good yeah today you start to work on your collections that you've been working for
00:04:48this entire competition this is such an amazing opportunity you get to make whatever you want to
00:04:53make be who you want to be shock not only the judges but the whole world is watching so it's one of those
00:05:00great moments you know i think you really have to take the judges on a journey yeah and i think that
00:05:06they'll really appreciate that you know i have a good surprise for you we're gonna give you some
00:05:12help this week oh because you need it eight looks in eight days is wild yeah we're gonna bring back

00:05:38brainer yeah and we're also gonna give you ten thousand dollars and you guys can go anywhere in
00:05:45the fashion district that you want yeah because the clothes got to be good yeah listen yeah it is
00:05:51big stakes all stars you have to impress these judges yeah yeah this is it yes all right bye christian
00:05:59thank you this is the very first type of like freedom to shop that works all around the garment
00:06:16district we have three and a half hours to shop elaine really wants me to like lean into who i am so my
00:06:23strategy is to create a collection that embrace this active wear path but also progressing into
00:06:30active wear as like evening wear and use color tell a story of things that just get more and more
00:06:38intense anything else or anything no that's it on to the next i'm one of the most commercial designers
00:06:45in this competition oh yes to do active wear as high fashion is really risky but it doesn't mean
00:06:54that i can't give a very inspiring just absolute killer runway show hello how are you how are you good
00:07:03my specialty is leather this is actually nice there's a couple like that but i am going to do some
00:07:11things that people don't really expect of me which is playing with colors this color is nice greens
00:07:18purples red and try different types of fabrics to do like a mix so i have this color that color i have
00:07:26black i always listen to uh madame nina so i'm really playing with the masculine and feminine the hard
00:07:33the soft basically my collection is a marriage of the two thank you so much yes baby that's what i'm
00:07:39looking for all the good signs today fashion is literally my diary my saving grace my religion
00:07:47i really really love this the vibe from my collection is inspired by my process of grieving
00:07:55i want to showcase what i'm feeling and how i'm feeling she's cute i ain't balling on the budget this time
00:08:03i know for sure i'm going to use white creams black and different shades of red oh this is dope to be
00:08:12able to tell my story with my collection is my way of being able to honor my sister
00:08:18it okay guys it's it's real it's real it's real hold on i got it you are so sweet oh hello hello room
00:08:36i kind of like this setup right here in order for me to calm my nerves and just making it feel at home
00:08:50i put up my sister's obituary now she gonna be here making the collection with you my sister
00:08:55told me before she transcended that i got this i dedicate this all to her let's get it baby
00:09:06i don't know this is a coat yeah this is beautiful what you over here cutting yeah cut number two
00:09:31cutting up you're on number two damn she cut number two the time frame that we have to produce
00:09:38this collection is insane i'm gonna have some flowers here and this was in your head i'm just
00:09:45going as i go do i know what i'm making yet no i do not because i don't have any drawings my collection
00:09:52it's a little blurry in my mind i can't believe this is finally done oh my goodness oh man i'm tired
00:10:00y'all it's been a day but it's time for us to go let's go through the day one down baby
00:10:08coming up let the competition begin broadcasting
00:10:15i only have three looks god save me i said my stress level wasn't that high but now it is
00:10:21bonce you're gonna have to sew like you've never sung before yeah i know not this pink pant like she
00:10:27looks like a little kid why are you so pouty um i want to get finished sewing this is overwhelming
00:10:35i'm over it
00:10:43all right what are we doing here hey look i'm wearing something i made that's cute
00:10:47all right we have a big day today guys you'll be selecting your models for your show that's huge
00:11:03absolutely all right i'm coming to take a peek before the models get here britney hey look at all
00:11:10this i know busy yes it's girly and cool and fun and young and maybe you need that one sophisticated
00:11:20thing yeah i need it i mean imagine this could be like the most badass pants yeah don't even look to
00:11:27the left they are going couture du jour over there there is that balance of what's too simplistic yeah i
00:11:35just have to do it in a way that's like hey here's what you love about me but like in a show form
00:11:39yes i have to remember that yeah so okay goodbye
00:11:46oh lord we got a lot going on up in here this me tell me everything so right now i'm in like this i
00:11:53kill the old you but rebirth of the new you so like a phoenix reborn reborn yeah i like it what i'm kind of
00:12:01like doing is doing like this white look that's like here that's yeah that's kind of like not having
00:12:08experienced life i want to ease them into the drama yes this is the opening this is the opening this is
00:12:13how the progression goes in this in the collection yeah and then in the red it's kind of like has the
00:12:19cargo pants with the top like the born of the phoenix and then last thing is just uh this couture
00:12:27yeah like all of this is depression and anxiety and so i literally want her to walk and conquer
00:12:34that i think that's kind of cool thanks christian bring it in thank you you smell good always
00:12:44wrong yes so what did you kind of come up with as like your inspiration my inspiration is a night in
00:12:52paris because what is the color palette so i have gray purple right red i love that you're gonna do
00:13:00this purple too but i haven't figured that one yet what about even making a very classic beautiful
00:13:08suit yeah yeah what's the opening look what is that i don't know you don't know yes yeah a different
00:13:14space yeah like you're still planning yeah what you want to make yeah i would get your little sketchbook
00:13:20out i promise it's all my pride in my head but it'll help if you have a better plan all right

00:19:47and the bobby brown makeup studio good luck hi hey how are you good to see you i'm so happy that
00:19:57you're here tell me a little bit about your look the whole vibe is very like high fashion active my
00:20:04thought was to just a slick back pony but doing the bubble pony love yeah i'm gonna use the tresemme
00:20:11extra hold mousse it's going to help me keep her hair back but it doesn't have that sticky feel that
00:20:18most mousse have yet this looks super sleek and modern yes yes yes thank you so much hello hey i'm
00:20:27excited tell me about your look so i really want for them to have like drawn just bone straight flowy
00:20:34just like really sleek just like really sleek modern so i'm gonna use the tresemme prone fusion
00:20:39smooth tonic okay it's gonna really help with the shine and hydration and really get us that sleekness
00:20:45that we're looking for okay leaves her hair hydrated and smooth already super sleek super soft it's
00:20:57already given us what we need oh yeah i already i see it thank you so much ah i'm so good it's so good
00:21:06to see you talk to me about your collection i'm dying to see it i want them to be super classy i don't
00:21:12really want any colors so a lot of contouring i'm taking a touch of our long wear cream shadow stick
00:21:18in a shade that's matte i'm just gonna add a little bit of depth right here underneath the cheekbone it's
00:21:25still very monochromatic yeah i love it thank you so much good luck bye all right designers i have
00:21:35exciting news for you tomorrow morning cfda is coming to meet with each of you oh wow it's gonna
00:21:42be really helpful i promise take advantage take it in get to work lots of sewing to do bye
00:21:56i only have three looks god save me i said my stress level wasn't that high but now it is
00:22:04and that's time people let's go you guys night lounge
00:22:14cheers to you congratulations to you
00:22:17cheers so how do you guys feel though yeah final three yeah it's like someone telling you great news
00:22:25and then push you off a clip you've been staying up since 12 30 1 o'clock trying force yourself to go
00:22:31to sleep but you can because your mind is just racing good i feel like a knot in my throat i am feeling a bit
00:22:41worried about my overall collection because i do not see it coming together yet so i need to rethink
00:22:47some things and readjust you stress me out
00:22:55the last day in the work room happy final day where do we start girl start and finish on that uh draping white dress i sew it in on both sides right yeah
00:23:15hi hi hi i'm mark karamazata the tutorial and communications director of the cfda i'm so thrilled
00:23:24to be here and to meet all of you i'm really here to see your collections and to
00:23:28talk to you about your future your brands wow excited to have you oh my god britney what's your
00:23:41customer look like she's a city girl very independent you know she does her own thing and you're ahead of
00:23:46a lot of designers because you already know exactly who your customer is and you know exactly what your
00:23:50brand looks like which is a great thing i love this denim jacket yeah it was upcycling and that was one
00:23:57day what's in there it's very heavy it's muslin it's very good it's very heavy it's very heavy like
00:24:03this trying to like work in my dna um it kind of did really start like here and here and doing like
00:24:10the undergarment pieces here which must be so difficult with the challenges because it's all
00:24:15different challenges so how do you bring the dna into that challenge what would you see that starting
00:24:19point for me like for the mentorship like where would it be looking down the road and what i see by brand
00:24:25being we look to help speak to people who know the business of fashion speak to manufacturers who
00:24:33know how to make the kind of clothes that you want for your collection yeah that would be
00:24:38well thank you so much it was so great to meet you oh no thank you so much thank you
00:24:43whoa what would you say your story is and who you really want to address with your clothes for my story
00:24:50i'll use fashion as my like my diary so i'm always adding hints of myself into the garments and telling
00:24:57like a dramatic avant-garde story with a bit of streetwear i see real range which is really important
00:25:02i think in terms of building your business we're an organization of more than 450 members we have a lot
00:25:07of resources to help a young designer like you gotcha thank you so much hello laurence so if you have
00:25:15to describe your brand how would you describe it my brand is edgy and classy super feminine and
00:25:23masculine mixed together and i do leather so that's what i'm known for so obviously looking here i see
00:25:28the whole breadth of your talent yeah leather is your focus but are you really thinking about other
00:25:33materials how are you looking to expand your collection i want to do everything leather is my love
00:25:38but i want to do everything that's why i try to do a mix of different things that's a very smart thing
00:25:43because when you think about a woman she might really love leather but there's other parts of
00:25:47her life when she doesn't want to wear leather and then she would be the go-to designer she already
00:25:52likes your aesthetic and what you stand for and if you communicate that very clearly who you are and
00:25:56what you stand for you could have that customer for life okay which is a wonderful thing yes thank you
00:26:02so very much hey you guys are you ready for models they're here
00:26:18yes work welcome back do you want to start with the pants with her all right so let's do let's try
00:26:26this on first so this model fitting is exactly what i needed and i just need to fit this spandex
00:26:33tube shape on jasmine to make sure that we're on the right track of just perfecting this look
00:26:38you know okay cool if i put a biker short underneath it that'd be hot it looks beautiful
00:26:44well for me i just want to see what the other one lands
00:26:46i'm gonna take this in a little bit too yeah can't wait to see it he's coming yeah and i think um
00:26:58he's doing something with um with your look too
00:27:10this is probably the most stressed out i've been all season
00:27:13because i'm not where i want to be at i'm not at a proper checkpoint for myself and i'm dealing
00:27:18with grief that adds more pressure on to me that i already have um
00:27:27i'm trying y'all i need to go find your designer because at this this is as far as i can take you
00:27:33i think i think i'm done
00:27:37bish you have some idols
00:27:43where is he where did he say he's going
00:27:57where is he where did he say he's going
00:28:03what's happening
00:28:10i'm trying to figure everything out in my mind
00:28:12well we have a model inside come
00:28:20we don't have the time for the mind to play those tricks or not
00:28:24i need you inside i've been handling my grief throughout this competition but i think what was
00:28:28making me sad is that um bro
00:28:38if i got all the way to winning that it wouldn't feel good because she's not here
00:28:44it's been a roller coaster being here i keep realizing i'm grieving my sister at the same time
00:28:50maybe times when i'm like about to literally cry and i don't even know why like it's a lot to hit me
00:28:56today i'm just thankful that i have project here keep my head on track he reminded me that i'm here for
00:29:02a reason and keep that that focus on why i'm here and he literally have a place in my heart forever
00:29:09y'all need to get you a project in your life because she might seem like she rah rah rah but she really
00:29:15got a heart to go
00:29:17i don't know if you went longer over the shoe no it's fine right there yeah turn to the back i'm
00:29:31glad i did the fitting because the fit has to be proper and so far it's no bueno it's gonna be the
00:29:37same like the same as the pants but the bustier is leather yeah can you is there a good enough length
00:29:43for you to walk in if we did end up attaching this part of the placket the center yeah so this
00:29:57gown the dimension is remarkable the train looks so good and the styling how it came together with
00:30:03the ribbing and the hood and it's just a very couture way to finish my collection
00:30:08weekend thank you thank you bye bye what time is it 30 minutes till we got to pack it up guys
00:30:24i ain't going down without a fight let me just do this real quick come on
00:30:34and done so all you need to do right now is the jacket
00:30:36I was like, Laurence needs me here for moral support
00:30:39more than anything.
00:30:42We're going to save the party for later.
00:30:45Guys, we got five minutes until the friends have to leave.
00:30:49Never.
00:30:50I will miss you for helping me.
00:30:52I gave you a gift.
00:30:55The bitch is tired?
00:30:58She's muddy.
00:31:00Mm-hmm.
00:31:01Mm-hmm.
00:31:04I got to go.
00:31:05Our time is up.
00:31:06I mean, I will see you.
00:31:07You probably won't see me.
00:31:08Yes, I will.
00:31:09We're looking for you like this.
00:31:11I love you so much.
00:31:12I love you, too.
00:31:13OK.
00:31:15And goodbye!
00:31:17Thank you so, so much.
00:31:19I love you, too.
00:31:20All right.
00:31:20I'll see you tomorrow.
00:31:21All right.
00:31:22See you tomorrow.
00:31:23There's literally no way that this collection
00:31:26would look like it does right now without Fabio's help.
00:31:29I owe him a lot.
00:31:32Bye, guys.
00:31:33Bye, guys.
00:31:34Bye, guys.
00:31:34Good luck.
00:31:36Good luck.
00:31:39We're done with this workroom, and it's bittersweet.
00:31:43All right, you guys, ready to head out?
00:31:45I'm excited for the runway, and I'm also a bit nervous.
00:31:51Later, workroom.
00:31:52What a beautiful city.
00:31:53Wow.
00:31:54So pretty.
00:31:55I just want to say I'm so proud of all of us.
00:31:56Me, too.
00:31:57I'm proud of us, too, man.
00:31:58And this is beautiful, man.
00:31:59Being here, it really prepped you for the fashion industry.
00:32:00Yeah, absolutely.
00:32:01Like, Nina and all of them are, like, the critics and the blogs and the thing.
00:32:02The challenges are, like, certain clients that hire you for things.
00:32:04Absolutely.
00:32:05And then also brought another side out of you that you didn't even realize was there.
00:32:10To be here and to finally be able to showcase something, like, you want to showcase your best, because we learned a lot since, at least me, I learned so much since I've been here.
00:32:16So much.
00:32:18All right.
00:32:18Let's do it back there.
00:32:19Here we go.
00:32:20Oreo sandwich.
00:32:21Oh, it's the best Oreo that's ever been.
00:32:23BBL, baby.
00:32:24I love y'all so much.
00:32:25Coming up.
00:32:26Welcome.
00:32:27Welcome.
00:32:28We're here.
00:32:29You're here.
00:32:30Oh, I'm here.
00:32:31I'm here.
00:32:32I'm here.
00:32:33I'm here.
00:32:34You're here.
00:32:35I'm here.
00:32:36I'm here.
00:32:37I'm here.
00:32:38You're here.
00:32:39Yeah, I'm here.
00:32:40I'm here.
00:32:41I'm here.
00:32:42I'm here.
00:32:43I'm here.
00:32:44I'm here.
00:32:45I'm here.
00:32:46to the Project Runway finale.
00:32:48Can I pull the drawstring?
00:32:49Let me see the back.
00:32:51I'm gonna freak it out.
00:32:52My heart is wrinkling.
00:32:53I can feel it.
00:33:08Oh, wow.
00:33:09This is amazing.
00:33:10Look at this.
00:33:11Amazing.
00:33:13This was just a dream a few months ago.
00:33:15When I left my season, I didn't win.
00:33:17I placed third.
00:33:18So to be here right now, living it, it's everything.
00:33:23Can we just take this in before we leave?
00:33:26There is so much on the line, the grand prize,
00:33:29the mentorship, the public relations that I need so badly.
00:33:34There isn't one of these prizes that wouldn't change my life.
00:33:37BBL.
00:33:38BBL.
00:33:39Good luck, y'all.
00:33:40One, two, three.
00:33:41I feel like a mad man right now.
00:33:45Hi, everybody.
00:33:46No.
00:33:47Hi.
00:33:48No.
00:33:49Happy show day.
00:33:50All right, the show starts in one hour.
00:33:52No.
00:33:53You need to make sure all your models get through the work,
00:33:55hair with Trésa May, makeup with Bobby Brown.
00:33:58Hi, y'all.
00:34:00Hi.
00:34:01Hello.
00:34:02Whoo.
00:34:03Oh.
00:34:03So excited for the show.
00:34:06Hi, hi, hi.
00:34:08You guys know what it is, right?
00:34:10Sleep buns.
00:34:11Yeah.
00:34:12So for the makeup, can we just keep it in hair red,
00:34:14but glossed?
00:34:16I love and hate this dress backstage.
00:34:18And then pull the drawstring.
00:34:20I can feel it.
00:34:21My heart is racing.
00:34:22I'm freaking out.
00:34:28Can you make sure you just keep this arm down?
00:34:33Everybody's getting it.
00:34:34Getting it.
00:34:34They are.
00:34:35Imagine when you could pull that skirt down.
00:34:37Turn her this way.
00:34:46Brittany, Laurence.
00:34:48Yes.
00:34:48Fish me, you're good?
00:34:49As good as we're going to be.
00:34:51Everybody looks amazing.
00:34:52All right, designers.
00:34:53That's it.
00:34:54That's time.
00:34:55You're day.
00:34:56It's show time.
00:34:57It's show time.
00:35:13Hi, everyone.
00:35:13Hi.
00:35:15Well, welcome to the Project Runway season 20 finale.
00:35:21Whoo.
00:35:26Unfortunately, Brandon Maxwell could
00:35:27be here with us tonight, but we are honored to have two

00:36:05It's going to be a fabulous show.
00:36:07The designers work so hard.
00:36:09Let's do it.
00:36:10Yes!
00:36:11Let's start the show.
00:36:12Whoo!
00:36:13Whoo!
00:36:14Whoo!

00:36:17Whoo!
00:36:18Whoo!
00:36:18Hi, everyone.
00:36:20My name is Brittany Allen.
00:36:21You might remember me from season 18.
00:36:22Yes, Brittany!
00:36:23Hi!
00:36:24Hi!
00:36:25Familiar faces.
00:36:26Um, so my collection is called Pop Gresham.
00:36:29And essentially, the story of the collection is just a
00:36:47progression of color, plays, and transformation of color.
00:36:51of the collection is just a progression of color print and what I do best which
00:36:58is active wear and ready-to-wear married together so I hope you love it as much
00:37:02as I loved making it special shout out to my babe who made it the special trek
00:37:07from Texas and to Fabio my best friend who I could not have made this
00:37:12collection without so thank you guys so much I am so thankful that this is the
00:37:37tone we are starting with because it is everything my collection it has me
00:37:45written all over it is DNA identity everything that the judges wanted to see
00:37:50for me me pushing silhouettes and ideas that were my own in this very identifiable
00:38:00way you can't look at this collection and not know exactly who it came from
00:38:07this is the story of this build-up and progression of my growth and my aesthetic
00:38:20as a whole
00:38:27it shows me and what I do and it's just a small nod to the active wear but it's
00:38:33elevating this progression story it's a little conceptual but you could wear
00:38:41these pieces at any time with anything
00:38:43so Jessica Z is killing these pants the pants are getting
00:39:11so much movement with her wall you see the dimension and I love this look so much
00:39:18this gown wrapping up this runway show it could not have been showcased better
00:39:33it is active wear eleganza and I am dead

00:40:57My name is Vishri Cromarty, and this show...
00:41:00Oh, my goodness!
00:41:02And my collection is about powering through.
00:41:05So that's my message to everyone here.
00:41:07Just power through.
00:41:08Hope you love it.
00:41:36This is a pinch-me moment.
00:41:38Even for me, because to actually be here at the finale is mind-blowing.
00:41:46It showcases so many different personalities that I have within me
00:41:50and so many different techniques that I have.
00:41:54To see the evolution of this collection is just amazing to me, because I allowed all of the darkness and all of the things I've experienced in my past to help me get to this moment.
00:41:59To see the evolution of this collection is just amazing to me, because I allowed all of the darkness and all of the things I've experienced in my past to help me get to this moment.
00:42:21And to be able to have this moment that I've been dreaming for since I first watched this show as a teenager.
00:42:35Just breathtaking.
00:42:36Just breathtaking.
00:42:37And to be able to have this moment that I've been dreaming for since I first watched this show as a teenager.
00:42:49Just breathtaking.
00:42:50Just breathtaking.
00:43:51I've always told myself I will close my collection out with the most massive gown ever.
00:44:00I'm just thankful that I was able to see this and truly be pleased with everything that I created.
00:44:06Incredible in such a short period of time.
00:44:18He's smart with his construction materials.
00:44:21I got to literally step back and be proud of myself because I don't know if anyone would have been able to handle what I handled literally days before the runway show.
00:44:32He's blowing me away.
00:44:36Well, if anyone can follow him, it's Laurence.
00:44:39All right, girls.
00:44:40Kill it.
00:44:40Two, one.
00:44:42Go.
00:44:42Hi, baby.
00:44:55I just want to say hello to Marley.
00:44:56I miss you.
00:44:57I love you.
00:44:57My name is Laurence Bass.
00:45:02So my fashion is always inspired by where I'm from.
00:45:05So I wanted to make a collection about Paris because every time we talk about this city, we always see the beautiful side of it.
00:45:12And I wanted to bring the dark side of Paris and the beautiful mix together.
00:45:18So you guys enjoy.
00:45:21And à plus.
00:45:24Love you guys.
00:45:25Love you.
00:45:26Love you.
00:45:26Love you.
00:45:43This collection is me.
00:45:46It's a piece of me that I'm giving you.
00:45:49If you understand my collection, you'll get to understand a little bit of who I am.
00:46:12I feel like people are still thinking of leather like there's only one or two things you can do with it.
00:46:20But leather has evolved so much that you can literally do anything with it.
00:46:30That's what I want to do.
00:46:31I want to take leather to a whole new level.
00:46:42I came here saying I was the next Project Runway winner.
00:46:52So I really believe in my heart that I could win this whole thing.
00:46:59Watching my creations go down the runway.
00:47:03It's a whole bunch of emotions and it's a moment.
00:47:06You know what I mean?
00:47:07But overall, it's great.
00:47:12When the finale look comes down the runway, it is giving, giving, giving.
00:47:42I mean, I love the model.
00:47:43I love the look.
00:47:45I love the red.
00:47:49It was pretty clear from the beginning that she was going to close the show.
00:47:51I love the red.
00:47:52I love the red.
00:48:02I mean, all the three designers, every material she used has nothing for giving.
00:48:11She's working with leather.
00:48:13I am amazing.
00:48:14This whole experience of Project Runway,
00:48:17you always learn something when you come here
00:48:19about yourself, about life,
00:48:21things that you don't even know you're capable of doing.
00:48:24So I'm super proud of me for making it this far.
00:48:34Oh, my God, we did it.
00:48:35Oh, my God, we did it.
00:48:37It was 100% evidence that these designers were all-stars.
00:48:41For the girls! For the girls!
00:48:43For the girls!
00:48:46I especially enjoyed Britney's show
00:48:48because she didn't go over-the-top couture.
00:48:51She went, designed real clothes and real sportive
00:48:54and much more casual.
00:49:02That one with this whole one?
00:49:04Mm-hmm.
00:49:05She did her thing.
00:49:06Yes, she did.
00:49:07If I were picking a winner, I'd be going with Bishni.
00:49:09I loved that collection.
00:49:11I mean, it just felt very organic.
00:49:13It felt street.
00:49:14Like, it just looked cohesive.
00:49:16I loved it.
00:49:17I haven't seen my baby in over two months.
00:49:20It's been a while.
00:49:21Yeah.
00:49:22Mm-hmm.
00:49:23You know, I have to say,
00:49:24I think it's Laurence's game to take the whole thing.
00:49:26I thought her collection was the most cohesive out of everybody's.
00:49:31Every look was better than the next.
00:49:34Thank you, guys.
00:49:35You killed it!
00:49:36All of you did an amazing job!
00:49:38Yay!
00:49:41I think this is going to be one of the hardest decisions
00:49:43in the history of Project Runway.
00:49:46There's only going to be one winner.
00:49:48Now we wait.
00:49:59Final three all-stars.
00:50:01We are so incredibly proud of you,
00:50:03so impressed by what you were able to achieve in just eight days.
00:50:09It was incredible.
00:50:10Really lovely.
00:50:11And, of course, can we give it up for our guest judges today?
00:50:14Yes!
00:50:15Yes!
00:50:16Dad Poe and Billy Porter.
00:50:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:50:18We just casually have two icons with us today, so.
00:50:21It's overwhelming.
00:50:23The three of you delivered three incredible different shows
00:50:30that relied on your unique point of view.
00:50:35I am always so moved by fashion,
00:50:39and I am so, so happy to be here.
00:50:44Laurence.
00:50:45Hi.
00:50:46So nice to see you.
00:50:47Nice to see you again.
00:50:48A reunion.
00:50:49My pleasure.
00:50:50I think you're so talented.
00:50:51Five years on the show, the best tailor I've seen.
00:50:55You all delivered a unique vision,
00:50:59and you brought the drama.
00:51:01I'm blown away and very happy to be here.
00:51:05Thanks.
00:51:06Let's start with you, Brittany.
00:51:07Okay, let's do it.
00:51:08Tell us about the collection and your inspiration.
00:51:10I wanted to show the progression of introducing color
00:51:14and introducing prints and then combining colors
00:51:16that you wouldn't think that you would ever, you know, put together.
00:51:19Yes, it was eight looks, but it was 21 pieces.
00:51:22All interchangeable.
00:51:23Everything could have been swapped.
00:51:24This top with this skirt, with this jacket, with this bottom.
00:51:26It's really fun to make.
00:51:28You stood out, but you stood out in a good way.
00:51:31You found a way to put an evening gown in the context of your activewear world that you're building.
00:51:38It's magical what you've been able to do to elevate the activewear slash athleisure space.
00:51:46The culotte, the bra, like I see it already.
00:51:50It's stunning.
00:51:51Wow.
00:51:52What an honor.
00:51:53I think the really interesting parts of your collection were the pieces where you took the inspiration of activewear,
00:52:00but did it in a more high fashion kind of luxury technique way.
00:52:05It kind of took it to a whole new place.
00:52:07My only criticism is off of the runway, it could go a little costume.
00:52:13Your styling was phenomenal.
00:52:17You gave every girl that ponytail, the hoops, and the same boots.
00:52:22So everything felt very cohesive.
00:52:25But what most impressed me was the pant version of this.
00:52:30And turning this pattern into a 3D perspective made me think, wow, you could do things on a bigger scale.
00:52:37Wow.
00:52:38That's my heart is full.
00:52:40I mean, so much.
00:52:41Thank you so much, Brittany.
00:52:43Ishmi, tell us all about your collection.
00:52:47Tell us about your inspiration.
00:52:49You want to know everything.
00:52:50I wanted to showcase the good side of things, the not so good side when it gets a little rocky,
00:52:56and then when you overpower the darkness and the things that kind of like build you to be the stronger version of yourself.
00:53:02The first opening look showcased the innocence.
00:53:05Innocence?
00:53:06Kind of like in an innocence, my version of innocence.
00:53:08She's a vixen.
00:53:09She loves it.
00:53:11And the red represent rage and the black just represent darkness.
00:53:15This dress actually represents anxiety that you overpower to kind of like turn it into something positive.
00:53:21I really love that this is called the anxiety gown.
00:53:26Because it doesn't feel like the anxiety is oppressive.
00:53:32It feels like you're moving through it.
00:53:35You got to that place where evening wear can become art.
00:53:39So you did something very special and very moving for me today.
00:53:44Bishmi, it was cohesive.
00:53:47It was inspiring.
00:53:48It was sophisticated.
00:53:49And most importantly, it was well edited.
00:53:53The juxtaposition of that kind of urban influence with the elegance of your work was genius.
00:54:01Bishmi.
00:54:02Bishmi.
00:54:03You always surprise me.
00:54:04And as an editor, I can see these on the pages of our magazine, on celebrities.
00:54:11Your clothes just have that fashion with a capital F.
00:54:14You have a gift.
00:54:16And I want you to feel confident about it.
00:54:18Thank you, Nina.
00:54:19That means a lot.
00:54:21The only look that I didn't think you needed was probably the latex gown.
00:54:27Gotcha.
00:54:28Because we've kind of moved away from the sleeves, which used to be your signature.
00:54:33And I think that you are a designer that has so many ideas.
00:54:37You don't really have to stick to one.
00:54:40Thank you so much, Bishmi.
00:54:41All right, Laurence.
00:54:42My inspiration was Paris.
00:54:45I'm an African girl.
00:54:46I was born in Normandy.
00:54:48So I wanted to bring both sides together and create my story.
00:54:53That's why I had so much hardware, leather, lace, and organza.
00:54:57Which is like two worlds that usually don't really meet.
00:55:02Mm-hmm.
00:55:03I love coming to Project Runway because I get to shop.
00:55:05I want that.
00:55:06I just love this so much.
00:55:09I would love it with a flared pants.
00:55:12Okay.
00:55:13She could do that.
00:55:14We're going to exchange numbers.
00:55:15No problem.
00:55:16I got you.
00:55:17I need that.
00:55:18Laurence, you deliver garments that are so precise and well made.
00:55:27I love that pull and push of the romantic with the hard, that very sculptural jacket, and the shine.
00:55:35These are things that could look terrible together, but will never do under your supervision.
00:55:42You're a tough candidate to beat.
00:55:46You exude an elegance and a sophistication, and I can see evolution in your work, but it's still signature.
00:55:55The one look that I kind of had trouble with, the purple thing.
00:55:59Yeah.
00:56:00Where'd that come from?
00:56:01That wasn't the direction I was going with the suit, but I had to change the shape, and it was supposed to be something else.
00:56:07Trust your gut is if you have that instinct, I think pull it.
00:56:11Okay.
00:56:12I love the duality of your inspiration, but mostly I was excited to see a new side of you.
00:56:19You were able to incorporate this joy, this fluidity, this poetry, this romance that we haven't associated with your work before, and you turned up the volume.
00:56:32In the history of Project Runway, I think you make clothes that look more expensive than anything this show has ever seen.
00:56:39Okay, designers, this is going to be an extremely painful, difficult decision to make tonight.
00:56:48Whoa.
00:56:49But it's time for us to decide the winner.
00:56:52Thank you, guys.
00:56:53Thanks.
00:56:55An honor.
00:56:56Oh.
00:57:07So we have three designers here who are worthy of winning the prize.
00:57:12And unfortunately, only one can win.
00:57:15Who do you see as the future of fashion, right?
00:57:19Yep.
00:57:20I feel like there is a case to be made for each and every one of these designers.
00:57:23Absolutely.
00:57:24They just are so incredibly different.
00:57:26For instance, with Britney, she's in a class of her own because she's designing for activewear.
00:57:31And so it's challenging to even have Britney in the same sentence as Laurence or Brishby.
00:57:36With Britney, she got eight out of eight.
00:57:39You gave Britney an eight out of eight?
00:57:41I was impressed with all of it.
00:57:44Honestly, I believe that she is capable of much more than just activewear.
00:57:48For sure.
00:57:49But also there's nothing wrong with just having that niche.
00:57:52Absolutely.
00:57:53Repetition is reputation.
00:57:54That's really good.
00:57:55Yeah, I like that.
00:57:56That pant that she did, she took the fabric and she turned it into that 3D.
00:58:03Little texture.
00:58:04Yes.
00:58:05That was fantastic.
00:58:06She's mixing colors and textures that are not that easy to mix.
00:58:09At all.
00:58:10At all.
00:58:11That category is so important right now.
00:58:14Right.
00:58:15That activewear, right?
00:58:16My question is, what is the longevity of that?
00:58:19Right.
00:58:20Fashion is always changing.
00:58:22So who has that longevity or who is looking forward to fashion?
00:58:27Vishmi for me had the singular piece of the evening inside of that anxiety gown.
00:58:33He gave us a really well edited, a really thoughtful show that made you think the art on the finale piece.
00:58:41The tricks that work on the runway, the big tool train and the wow factor of that volume, but he added pieces of him and his heart in every single piece.
00:58:52It was like a crescendo, right?
00:58:54Yes.
00:58:55For eight pieces, I thought that was very well done.
00:58:58He created consistency through asymmetry from the hoodie dress to the top and skirt dress.
00:59:04The consistency is there, but they're done differently.
00:59:06Yeah.
00:59:07It kind of follows through and then it goes into a print, which was really strong, into the fringe dress.
00:59:12Not my favorite, but that idea worked.
00:59:14I didn't feel like it would fit properly.
00:59:17It wasn't, but he has these elements that could like rock the red carpet.
00:59:22Absolutely.
00:59:23He reminds me of a Telfar.
00:59:24Yeah.
00:59:25Everything had like a street wear, street style influence, but ultimately the thing that caught fire were those bags.
00:59:31Were those bags.
00:59:32That's the business.
00:59:33Some designers just love to make clothes, but not Vishmi.
00:59:36He loves the accessory and the clothes.
00:59:39Well, you know who I'd love to see make a bag?
00:59:41Laurence.
00:59:42Oh.
00:59:43Her technique.
00:59:44That leather bag.
00:59:45Her seaming.
00:59:46Those are the things that you really value in clothing.
00:59:49A mastery of technique, inventive construction.
00:59:52Inventive construction.
00:59:53In leather.
00:59:54No joke.
00:59:55She's just remarkable.
00:59:56Like every single stitch and moment was really brilliant.
01:00:01She's a sexy tailor.
01:00:03She's a sexy tailor.
01:00:04With edge.
01:00:05Right.
01:00:06But she's not a good editor because she had this purple thing.
01:00:09I would have done anything to get rid of that.
01:00:12The moments where she messed up were forgettable to me.
01:00:15To the point where I would give her double points for each look that I loved.
01:00:19Because I loved it so much that biker jacket could not fit better.
01:00:24And same with the skirt.
01:00:25This is what I would want to go to the red carpet.
01:00:28And with all of that said, when this is a finale runway moment, give me a little more.
01:00:34Sometimes wow doesn't need to be big.
01:00:36It doesn't need to be big.
01:00:37And we're talking about a gown.
01:00:38I mean, I'm a gown guy.
01:00:39Just take our breath away.
01:00:40And I'm just saying, sometimes things can be quiet in their power.
01:00:44Yes.
01:00:45Yeah.
01:00:46And that speaks to her taste level.
01:00:47Yeah.
01:00:48That's what makes her such a tasteful, elevated, refined, sophisticated designer.
01:00:52That red jacket in patent leather with the lace, payette, skirt was fabulous.
01:01:00Yeah.
01:01:01It absolutely is.
01:01:03It's hard.
01:01:04All of them have that super power that will make them a phenomenal winner.
01:01:10Mm-hmm.
01:01:12Okay.
01:01:13Do we have the winner of Project Runway season 20?
01:01:18Yes, we do.
01:01:20Yes.
01:01:21Ah!
