The forest fire in the hilly area of Taman Seri Timah, Balakong was fully extinguished early Friday morning (Nov 7) after more than five hours of fire-fighting operations by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.

00:00A forest fire that broke out in the hilly area of Taman Seritima, Balakong, was successfully
00:10extinguished early Friday morning after more than five hours of firefighting operations.
00:16Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar,
00:22said the blaze was brought under control around 9 p.m. and fully extinguished at about 12.15 a.m.
00:28The fire had spread across 2.4 hectares of forest on a hilltop, double the initial estimate of 1.2 hectares.
00:37Ahmad Mukhlis said the department received an emergency call at 7.02 p.m. on Thursday.
00:43Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
00:46The operation involved 27 firefighters from five stations, Bandartun Hussein On, Seri Kembangan, Pandan Indah, Sungai Besi and Cheras.
00:56Volunteer brigades from Balakong and Serdang also assisted in the operation, providing additional manpower and vehicles.
