02:13These are pictures of Claudia Sheinbaum, the first woman president of Mexico.
02:19The president was out in public.
02:21She was interacting with her supporters, even clicking selfies with the people.
02:25It's something she has long done.
02:28And then it happened.
02:30A drunk man forced himself towards her.
02:34At first, she did not notice.
02:36Then he leaned in.
02:38He tried to kiss her and even groped her.
02:41Her security finally intervened.
02:43They pulled him away.
02:44The man has since been arrested.
02:46The Mexican president says she will press charges.
02:52I experienced this episode of harassment.
02:55At that moment, I was talking to other people and didn't realize what was happening immediately.
03:01Yuan Jose, who coordinates the entire support team, came over and moved him away.
03:06It was only after I saw the videos that I understood what had really happened because I was speaking with many people.
03:12Yes, I obviously felt this person's closeness.
03:14He was, I repeat, completely drunk.
03:16I don't know if he was also on drugs.
03:18But I decided to file a complaint because this is something I experienced as a woman.
03:22And it's something women in our country go through.
03:27Let's pause here for a second.
03:29This is the president of a country, a head of state, a woman who has shattered political glass ceilings.
03:37Yet, she was sexually assaulted in public in broad daylight, surrounded by cameras with her security and supporters around.
03:46She can be the leader of her country, but a man still thought her body was public property.
03:53And kudos to President Shane Baum.
03:55She was remarkably composed during this incident.
03:57She later said she did not realize the full extent of the violation.
04:03Not until she saw the video herself.
04:07But there's something else that she said, too.
04:10And it deserves our attention.

04:12And my reflection is, if I don't file a complaint, even though this is a crime, then what position does that leave all Mexican women in?
04:22If they do this to the president, then what will happen to all the young women in our country?

04:28It's with the attorney general's office in Mexico City because this is a local jurisdiction crime.
04:34I filed a complaint.
04:35It turns out this person later went on to harass other women right there, on that same street.
04:40So this person is now under arrest.
04:46You heard that.
04:48She says, if she did not file a complaint, where would it leave all other Mexican women?
04:54What example would it set to them?
04:56And it is such a stark line because in Mexico, 10 women are murdered every day.
05:03Thousands are groped or catcalled on streets.
