00:00Hi there, welcome to the MetalVis forecast for the upcoming weekend.
00:04After a week in which there has been a lot of rain around, particularly towards the west and southwest,
00:09we see a break in the rain at times this weekend.
00:12It's not going to be entirely settled, but it'll be less unsettled.
00:15Still low pressure and charge, but these lows are going to be moving through a little quicker westerlies rather than southwestlies.
00:21That means it's not going to be quite as extraordinarily mild,
00:23and it also means that the wet weather won't be coming at us from the southwest.
00:27Instead, it will be coming in various waves from the west, and there'll be breaks in between.
00:33So, some decent spells of sunshine across central and eastern parts of the UK on Saturday.
00:39Throughout the day, it stays dry in the east.
00:41One or two showers across Wales and western England, but Scotland and Northern Ireland do see a weak feature,
00:46bring some rain initially into Northern Ireland and then later into central and western Scotland.
00:52The wind's picking up towards the end of the day as well.
00:54Temperatures peaking into the mid-teens.
00:57That means it's above average, but not quite as mild as the last few days.
01:01A couple of degrees, a little cooler.
01:04And we're going to see these outbreaks of rain turn up by the end of the day,
01:08associated with the next frontal system.
01:09So, certainly for many places, Saturday's the day with the best chance of drier weather,
01:15because this front's fairly active as it moves into western parts on Sunday.
01:19Now, the east will get away with another dry day, with some sunshine to start, a few mist patches around.
01:26Otherwise, it's just a case of fair weather cloud building into the afternoon and staying mostly dry.
01:31But towards the west, the weather front moves through.
01:34Initially, it's Northern Ireland that sees the rain, then much of Scotland, western England and Wales.
01:38The rain on and off for many, but some heavier bursts towards the southwest, and the breeze picking up as well.
01:43So, a wet afternoon to come for many in the west.
01:47Showers following for Northern Ireland, but eastern England, seeing some decent sunny spells once more.
01:53Highs of 14 or 15 Celsius.
01:56Into next week, it stays unsettled, with low pressure once again towards the southwest,
02:00bringing further spells of wet weather.
