00:00A civil war is brewing in the Republican Party, in which mainstay GOPers are pushing back
00:05against a growing anti-semitic far-right offshoot, searching for legitimization.
00:11And the growing rift reached what seems like a boiling point after Ben Shapiro unleashed
00:15a blistering tirade against Tucker Carlson on November 3rd, accusing him of normalizing
00:21Nazism by hosting white nationalist Nick Fuentes on his podcast in late October.
00:26It is not cancellation to refuse to signal-boost Hitler supporters like Nick Fuentes.
00:31It is not cancellation to criticize Tucker Carlson for rhetorically fluffing Nick Fuentes
00:36and other anti-American crackpots.
00:38The issue here isn't that Tucker Carlson had Nick Fuentes on his show last week.
00:41He has every right to do that, of course.
00:43The issue here is that Tucker Carlson decided to normalize and fluff Nick Fuentes,
00:47and that the Heritage Foundation then decided to robustly defend that performance.
00:52Those who criticize both Tucker and Heritage aren't canceling.
00:55They are quite properly drawing a moral line.
00:58Fuentes leads a movement known as the Groipers and has been banned from multiple platforms.
01:03Groipers, or the Groiper Army, according to the Anti-Defamation League,
01:07are far-right followers of Fuentes, who believe in preserving white, European-American culture,
01:12and hold racist and anti-semitic beliefs.
01:15The 27-year-old far-right influencer has been extremely controversial,
01:19and has become synonymous with expressing anti-semitic sentiment, espousing disgustingly sexist views,
01:24like claiming that women want to be raped, denying the Holocaust,
01:28and grousing that the GOP is run by Jews, atheists, and homosexuals.
01:33A lot of women want to be raped, and when I say raped, I mean like,
01:39that sounds bad when I say it like that.
01:41But there's like a lot of women that really want a guy to beat the shit out of them.
01:46Everybody raise your right hand, raise your right hand, repeat after me.
01:50I will kill, rape, and die for Nicholas J. Fuentes.
01:55It is Heil Hitler Friday, n***a.
01:58Heil Hitler, all my n***as Nazis.
02:00Hitler was a pedophile and kind of a pagan.
02:04It's like, well, he was also really f***ing cool.
02:08During the more than two-hour interview between Carlson and Fuentes,
02:11which has racked up more than 17 million views on X,
02:14Carlson didn't push back, as Fuentes called himself
02:17a fan of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.
02:20It's December 18th, I remember, because that's an important date to me.
02:24And it's Joseph Stalin's birthday.
02:27I'm a fan.
02:28You're a fan of Stalin's?
02:29Mm-hmm.
02:29Oh, he's an admirer.
02:31But we don't need to go into that, I guess.
02:34Let's, uh, okay, let's get back to that.
02:36We'll circle back to that.
02:38Denounced the influence of, quote,
02:39organized Jewry in U.S. politics.
02:42Putting aside the tribal interest for the corporate interest,
02:45that's absolutely the case.
02:46And that's the only way the country's gonna stay together.
02:48Exactly, that's my concern.
02:50And I absolutely agree with you.
02:52I would say, though, that the main challenge to that,
02:55a big challenge to that, is organized Jewry in America.
02:59Well, Carlson accused American Christians,
03:01who support the state of Israel,
03:03of being heretics with a brain virus.
03:06And I think that neoconservatism, where does it arise from?
03:09It arises from Jewish leftists who were mugged by reality
03:14when they saw the surprise attack in the Yom Kippur War.
03:18Yeah, well, that's a lot of it, for sure.
03:20But then, like, how do you explain Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz?
03:26And there are a lot like that John Bolton.
03:28I mean, I've known them all.
03:29George W. Bush, like, Karl Rove.
03:32I mean, all people I know personally who I've seen be seized by this brain virus,
03:38and they're not Jewish.
03:39The Carlson-Fuentes interview was met with backlash,
03:42especially among Christian and Jewish conservatives.
03:45Will Chamberlain, the VP of External Affairs for the Edmund Burke Foundation,
03:49which organizes the National Conservatism Conference, called Carlson's interview with
03:53Fuentes, a profound betrayal to his friend Charlie Kirk, who he says saw Fuentes as vermin,
04:00one of the worst people in the space.
04:02U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also took to X,
04:06after Carlson name-dropped him in his interview with Fuentes, writing,
04:10Huckabee also got some support from Senator Ted Cruz, who jumped in on X, writing,
04:23Mike Huckabee is a pastor and a patriot who loves America, loves Israel, and loves Jesus.
04:29I'm proud to be in his company.
04:31Internet sleuths even started digging up alleged evidence that the Heritage Foundation,
04:35a powerful right-wing think tank, was distancing itself from Carlson after the interview,
04:40and scrubbing any references to the online host, according to The Independent.
04:44But the right-wing think tank quickly pushed back against the claims.
04:48Three days after the interview was posted, Kevin Roberts, the president of the foundation,
04:52posted a video condemning efforts by movement conservatives aimed at canceling our own people.
04:57The venomous coalition attacking him are sowing division.
05:01Their attempt to cancel him will fail.
05:03Most importantly, the American people expect us to be focusing on our political adversaries on the left,
05:10not attacking our friends on the right.
05:13I disagree with, and even abhor, things that Nick Fuentes says.
05:18But canceling him is not the answer either.
05:21But reporting from The Post shows that the foundation's embrace of Carlson,
05:25since the controversial interview, has caused a rift in the organization.
05:28Internal chats reviewed by The Post show high-ranking members of the Heritage Foundation told each other
05:34privately how embarrassed and disgusted they were by Roberts' ridiculous decision to come to Carlson's
05:40defense over the sit-down with the far-right influencer.
05:43And the ripple effect from Roberts' statement has gone beyond staff issues,
05:47with sources close to the think tank saying it has been hemorrhaging evangelical Christian and Jewish contributors.
05:53During the Republican-Jewish coalition leadership summit on November 1st, Florida Congressman Randy
05:58Fine attacked Carlson head-on, calling the podcast host the most dangerous anti-Semite in America.
06:04All while the congressman surrounded himself with students holding signs that read,
06:08Tucker is not MAGA.
06:10Tucker Carlson is the most dangerous anti-Semite in America.
06:15He has chosen to take on the mantle of leader of a modern-day Hitler youth,
06:24to broadcast and feature those who celebrate the Nazis, those who call for the extermination of Israel,
06:30to defend Hamas, to even criticize President Trump for stopping Iran's nuclear ambitions.
06:36Friends, make no mistake, Tucker is not MAGA.
06:46But the anti-Carlson movement among Republicans came to a head when Shapiro,
06:51in a lengthy monologue, denounced Carlson for acting as a main agent in legitimizing Fuentes,
06:56whom he accused of purposefully trying to fragment the political right.
07:00Shapiro, a popular conservative commentator who also founded the Daily Wire, went on to argue that
07:05Carlson was an ideological launderer, softening the hate-filled rhetoric of figures like Fuentes
07:11and making their talking points acceptable within the GOP.
07:15Americans hate Nick Fuentes' philosophy.
07:18They think it's trash.
07:19Americans hate Tucker Carlson's laundered anti-Americanism.
07:23Republicans think it's trash.
07:24Independents think it's trash.
07:25Democrats think it's trash.
07:27Americans are not.
07:28Pro-segregation.
07:30Pro-rape.
07:30Anti-woman.
07:31Pro-child marriage.
07:32Anti-Black.
07:33Anti-Jew.
07:34Anti-Indian.
07:34Anti-Latino.
07:35Anti-Constitution.
07:36Pro-Hitler.
07:37Nutjobs.
07:37Like Nick Fuentes.
07:39And Americans are not.
07:40Pro-Putin.
07:40Pro-Iran.
07:41Pro-China.
07:42Pro-Venezuela.
07:43Pro-Hamas.
07:44Pro-Fuentes.
07:45Pro-Tate idiots.
07:46Like Tucker Carlson.
07:47They hate this vile garbage.
07:50If Republicans decide to cower before the likes of neo-Nazis and their propagandizers,
07:54they deserve to lose.
07:56Shapiro branded Carlson an intellectual coward, a dishonest interlocutor, and a terrible friend,
08:02charging that the podcaster has become the most virulent super-spreader of vile ideas in America.
08:07Tucker denies he said anything controversial at all.
08:09He was just asking questions.
08:11He was just interviewing people.
08:12You don't want him to cancel people, do you?
08:15Of course, there is no First Amendment right to a Tucker Carlson sensual massage.
08:19But to listen to Tucker, you'd think there was, so long as you despise America,
08:23oppose President Trump's foreign policy and bear a peculiar dislike of Jews.
08:27Tucker Carlson, you see, is a coward.
08:29On X, Fuentes has also been doubling down with direct attacks aimed at Cruz and fine.
08:34In one X post, Fuentes told the Florida congressman that he was a disgusting fat pig
08:40and to get out of my country.
08:42Fuentes also went on his Rumble live show to respond to Shapiro's monologue,
08:46criticizing the conservative commentator for trying to cancel him.
08:50I thought Shapiro was against SJWs.
08:53Now he sounds like one of them.
08:56I thought he was against liberal tears and cancel culture and safe spaces.
09:03Now you sound like one of them.
09:06Carlson addressed the mass criticism during an interview with libertarian stand-up comedian
09:10and commentator Dave Smith and criticized Shapiro as a man of limited talent.
09:15And now we're getting into what Ben Shapiro used to celebrate, that fabled marketplace of ideas.
09:21And he's going to go bankrupt in that marketplace because there's very little support
09:25for his position, which is fundamentally
09:28lobbying on behalf of a foreign country.
09:31And no one wants to do that anymore.
09:32Why wouldn't they?
09:33The rift among Republicans comes amid major Democratic wins in New Jersey,
09:37Virginia and New York City on November 4th.
09:40Conservatives are regrouping to find out what went wrong and how they'll be able to dominate in the
09:442026 midterms.
09:46Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was one of the first to post his post-mortem,
09:52imploring future Republican candidates to ditch identity politics.
09:56And number two, cut out the identity politics.
09:58It doesn't suit Republicans.
10:00It's not for us.
10:01That's the woke left's game, not ours.
10:04We don't care about the color of your skin or your religion.
10:06We care about the content of your character.
10:08That's who we are.
