A luncheon at the NSW Parliament on October 23, 2025, shattered the Guinness World Record for the number of centenarians together in one room. Australia’s record now stands at 150, breaking Italy’s previous record of 70.

00:00My name is Brian. I am the official Guinness World Records adjudicator for the record attempt today.
00:10150 people over the age of 100. I think we have over 15,000 years in combined age sitting at the table.
00:25Good afternoon everyone and thank you so much for being here.
00:27My name is Brian Sobel. I am the officially trained Guinness World Records adjudicator.
00:33I have observed the record in action today. We have performed headcount.
00:39We have seen your registrations. We've seen your proof of age.
00:44As we know that is a very important thing for this type of record and it is the 23rd of October, 2025.
00:52And I am here to give the result for the largest gathering of centenarians.
00:56With a record previously held in Italy at 70 centenarians, I can confirm that today's count is 150 centenarians.
