Zohran Mamdani Speech: “Since I know you’re listening, Trump…” — New York’s newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani delivers a fiery and defiant victory night speech that electrified supporters across the city. In a bold message aimed directly at President Donald Trump, Mamdani vows to hold bad landlords accountable, end corruption, and defend New York’s immigrant and working-class roots. His words, powerful and poetic, mark a turning point in New York politics — where the people, not the billionaires, lead the way.

00:00If there is any way to terrify a despot, it is by dismantling the very conditions that allowed him to accumulate power.
00:11This is not only how we stop Trump, it's how we stop the next one.
00:20So Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you.
00:30Turn the volume up.
00:32We will hold bad landlords to account because the Donald Trumps of our city have grown far too comfortable.
01:01Taking advantage of their tenants.
01:06We will put an end to the culture of corruption that has allowed billionaires like Trump to evade taxation and exploit tax breaks.
01:15We will stand alongside unions and expand labor protections because we know, just as Donald Trump does, that when working people have ironclad rights, the bosses who seek to extort them become very small indeed.
01:36New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants.
01:48And as of tonight, led by an immigrant.
01:55So hear me, President Trump, when I say this, to get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us.

03:01After all, the conventional wisdom would tell you that I am far from the perfect candidate.
03:07I am young, despite my best efforts to grow older.
03:14I am Muslim.
03:19I am a democratic socialist.
03:26And most damning of all, I refuse to apologize for any of this.
03:35And yet, if tonight teaches us anything, it is that convention has held us back.
03:43We have bowed at the altar of caution and we have paid a mighty price.
03:49Too many working people cannot recognize themselves in our party.
03:54And too many among us have turned to the right for answers to why they have been left behind.
04:01We will leave mediocrity in our past.
04:06No longer will we have to open a history book for proof that Democrats can dare to be great.
04:15Our greatness will be anything but abstract.
04:18The greatvardowser is a forward in our past.
