00:00Andrew M. Cuomo!
00:27Thank you!
00:30Thank you!
00:35Thank you, thank you, thank you!
00:38Thank you!
00:39You're taking my time, you're taking my time!
00:50First, let me, let me, let me, I love you too, I love you too.
00:57Let me acknowledge part of my special campaign team.
01:02We have, from the right, Tellef Lunderval, the new son-in-law, husband of Mariah.
01:08We have Mariah, Cara, Michaela.
01:18I want to thank our campaign chairman, Bill Mulro, our great campaign manager, Greg Goldner.
01:27I want to thank, uh, Mayor Adams, who stepped out of the race to make us more competitive.
01:36And that was a very gracious thing to do.
01:39I want to thank Mayor Bloomberg, who gave us his support, Governor David Patterson, all the unions.
01:48I am blessed.
01:49I am blessed.
01:50I am blessed to have the people in this room.
01:55You have been a phenomenal team, great friends.
01:59You are superstars.
02:02Even more, you are New York patriots.
02:06And I am proud of you.
02:12This campaign, this campaign was the right fight to wage.
02:18And I am proud of what we did and what we did together.
02:25This, this campaign was to contest the philosophies that are shaping the Democratic Party, the future
02:34of this city, and the future of this country.
02:43And this coalition transcended normal partisan politics.
02:48It brought together Democrats and Republicans and Independents, joined by the simple fact
02:56that their first allegiance is as citizens of New York City.
03:012 million voters, the largest number in modern political history, cared enough to show up
03:16in a municipal election.
03:19And 42% voted for us on an independent line.
03:24That is the highest percentage in modern history.
03:39Ironically, it is just higher than when Mario Cuomo got 40% on an independent line against Ed Koch in 1977.
03:53It is also important to note that almost half of New Yorkers did not vote to support a government agenda
04:05that makes promises that we know cannot be met.
04:10We support an economy of jobs, of opportunity, of entrepreneurship.
04:17That's what New York is, and that's what New York must remain.
04:22We are a nation of laws, and we believe in law and order, and we need the police to keep society safe.
04:34We will not make the NYPD the enemy.
04:46We cherish, we cherish our diversity.
04:50And we have no tolerance for discrimination of any kind by race, religion, sexual orientation, or creed.
04:59And we will not tolerate any behavior that fans the flames of anti-Semitism or diverse attacks.
05:09Our strength, our strength is our unity.
05:19Black, white, brown, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, we are one.
05:25We are the family of New York.
05:27We believe in interconnection and mutuality and co-dependence.
05:32And you attack one of us, you attack all of us.
05:35That is what it means to be a New Yorker.
05:39No one and nothing will ever divide us.
05:43And this campaign was necessary to make that point.
05:53A caution flag that we are heading down a dangerous, dangerous road.
06:03Well, we made that point, and they heard us, and we will hold them to it.
06:14Also, my friends, feel proud because we accomplished the two important New York characteristics.
06:25We got up off the mat after the primary.
06:28And we made it a real race when the media had already commenced a coronation.
06:35And feel proud because we fought our hearts out and we left it all on the field.
06:48Congratulations to Zoran Mondami.
06:57No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, that is, no, that is not right.
07:10That is not right.
07:11And that is not us.
07:12That is not us.
07:13That is not us.
07:14Tonight was their night.
07:17And as they start to transition to government, we will all help any way we can
07:26because we need our New York City government to work.
07:29We want it to work for all New Yorkers because our city is the greatest city in the world.
07:37And we will unite for New York City because we love New York City.
07:43And from the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you.
07:48I love you for the fight you made, for the soul that you showed, and the example that you set.
07:59New York City heard us, and we will be the better for it.
08:04Thank you and God bless you.
08:17Thank you and God bless you.
08:24Now I'm down in Tribeca, right next to the narrow, but I'll be hood forever.
08:29I'm the new Sinatra.
08:30And since I made it here, I could make it anywhere.
08:33Yeah, they love me everywhere.
08:35I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Disney and Conno, right there up on Broadway.
08:38Pull me back to that McDonald's.
08:40Took it to my sage box, 566 Street.
08:42Catch me in the kitchen.
