00:00What is the strategy? Endurance. We just got something really exciting in the mail.
00:03Food & Wine's first ever puzzle. A thousand pieces. Here's our guide.
00:08And so have a gift. Tuesday at 10.33 a.m.
00:10See how quickly we can make this puzzle. My puzzle strategy
00:13is that I pick specific elements of the puzzle and then I just
00:17kind of do as much of that one feature as possible. I put
00:21two pieces together. Don't you think there's
00:24something in the tunnel? There's definitely more space. That's hard.
00:27I can handle the lemon because it's like very distinct.
00:30If I could literally just put two pieces together.
00:33Yeah. Oh. Good job.
00:34Thank you. Oh. Boom.
00:38Good job. I just know I'm not going to be any help at all.
00:41I'm so puzzled. Is that right?
00:44It's not right. Oh my God. There are so many pieces that look the same.
00:48To me, puzzling is a silent affair. People are like crashing out about the puzzle.
00:52I find this incredibly meditative. Get all the pieces that
00:56you think will fit in that shape because there are many.
00:58And then you just keep trying to press it on. Cinderella.
01:00A lot of these are all ugly stepsisters.
01:02Puzzle day two. Name of the game is progress. And positivity.
01:06We're staying positive. No negative vibes.
01:08That was great. Good job.
01:11You see this? You see this?
01:14We did that. She did that. We did that.
01:15It's 2.30. We've taken 1,704 photos of the puzzle.
01:19We have been hampered by the need to do other work.
01:22At this point in puzzling, what is the strategy?
01:26Endurance. Trying to discern the slight difference between black and dark blue.
01:30Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
01:31Okay, we're done with the last nine pieces.
01:33All right, it's happening. It's happening. It's happening. It's happening.
01:37Ah!
01:37Oh my God.
01:39That's a big one.
01:41Yeah!
01:42Yeah, everyone, that's a big one.
01:43Yeah!
01:43Yeah!
01:45Wow!
01:47The food and wine Tears of Joy puzzle took us 14 and a half hours.
01:51And I would say probably like 25 to 30 people came in and out.
01:56It was a pleasure to do.
01:59The end was quite difficult, but we persevered and we had a good time.
