A mayor in Mexico was killed during his town’s annual Day of the Dead celebration.

Carlos Alberto Manzo Rodríguez, 40, who served as the mayor of Uruapan in the western state of Michoacán, was shot during the town’s festival on November 1. He was attending a candlelight Day of the Dead event. A city council member and a bodyguard were also injured.
