00:00Despite the confusion regarding vaccines, doctors say the flu recommendations have not changed.
00:07Flu kills a lot of people, Americans, every single year.
00:13I mean, sometimes it's, you know, the tens of thousands, some of those estimates each year.
00:17And it's something that, you know, people forget about.
00:23The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say just about everyone over six months should consider the vaccine.
00:28There are persons who are also at higher risk of, you know, complications from flu.
00:36There are, you know, it's persons over 65, persons that are immunocompromised.
00:42So who shouldn't get the vaccine?
00:44The CDC says people with severe, life-threatening allergies to any ingredient in the vaccine.
00:50Flu season typically picks up in November and runs through May.
00:52It's really important. It's preventable. These are effective. They're safe.
00:57And, again, it's a very serious illness.
01:02It can cause very severe illness, hospitalizations, and even death.
01:07And it does that every year.
