00:00Good Sunday morning, everyone. Welcome to Sunday Morning Futures. Thanks so much for joining us.
00:10I'm Maria Bartiromo. Today, President Trump gets the royal treatment from across the world
00:15as he dances his way through his trip to Asia.
00:18From dancing with Malaysians on the tarmac to receiving a king's crown in South Korea
00:33and a strengthening alliance with the new prime minister of Japan,
00:37President Trump is returning global respect and trillions of dollars in new investment to America.
00:43But Democrats are mad as hell and they're not going to take it anymore.
00:48As the government shutdown enters a second month and Democrats allow federal workers to work without pay
00:54and the poor to do without food and SNAP payments.
00:58Coming up, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt is here with the president's response,
01:03fresh off of her trip to Asia with President Trump.
01:07Then two days away from Election Day as Democrats try to turn New York City socialist,
01:12with Democrat socialist Zoran Mamdani leading in the polls in the New York mayor's race
01:18that could expose the Democrat playbook across the country.
01:22Coming up, former Governor Andrew Cuomo fights the Democrat extremists trying to take over New York City.
01:28He will join me with his plans.
01:31Then abuse of power on a grand scale.
01:35Special Counsel Jack Smith tracks almost 200 Republicans, including sitting lawmakers,
01:40and then tells AT&T and Verizon not to tell them they're being trapped.
01:46So what did they do?
01:48Texas Senator Ted Cruz was one of them, and he has lived to tell about it.
01:52He's got the details here coming up.
01:55Plus, the Democrat playbook of 10 years of conspiracy against Donald J. Trump here with Mike Davis just moments away.
02:02Plus, he's leading the hottest company in the world right now.
02:07Well, NVIDIA hits $5 trillion in market value this week as CEO Jensen Huang brings the supply chain
02:14for its most important semiconductor chip used for the military here to be made in America.
02:21The CEO in the middle of President Trump's manufacturing boom will join me live just ahead.
02:26It's all right here right now on Sunday Morning Futures.
02:30And we begin this Sunday morning with a potential breaking point for the government shutdown this upcoming week
02:44on this day 33 of the shutdown with airports snarled food aid in jeopardy
02:50and many federal employees missing a second straight paycheck this week.
02:55But as Democrats dig in, President Trump has seen a love fest across the world
03:01as the president and America were respected and celebrated once again this week
03:05throughout his week-long trip to Asia, capped off by a new trade agreement with China,
03:11which Treasury Secretary Scott Besson told me could be signed this upcoming week.
03:16But Senate Democrats are still refusing to back the GOP's clean funding bill
03:21to reopen government and get federal workers paid and back on the job.
03:25Instead, they are digging in on wanting $1.5 trillion in new spending,
03:31partly to subsidize health care for illegal immigrants.
03:35Now, delays are spiking across the nation's airports with air traffic controllers working without pay
03:41or calling in sick, forced to take on a second job,
03:45which Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned us about here last weekend.
03:49Well, we have more people calling in sick, more people not showing up for work.
03:55Is it even safe to fly right now, Secretary?
04:00So that's job number one, Maria.
04:02And again, I need my controllers focused on the airspace, not about the finances at home.
04:07They'll tell me there is that seepage of how are they going to deal with those finances.
04:11My job is to keep the airspace safe.
04:15The week, the final straw for President Trump,
04:18who is now calling on Senate Republicans to scrap the filibuster,
04:22which requires 60 votes to advance legislation,
04:25and change the rules requiring only a simple majority to pass the clean funding bill
04:30so that Republicans can unilaterally reopen government.
04:34A spokesperson for Senate Majority Leader John Thune says his position is unchanged.
04:39He will not negotiate while America is kept hostage in a shutdown,
04:43and he is also committed to keeping the filibuster in place
04:46to prevent Democrats from passing bills Republicans oppose with a simple majority in the future,
04:52should they take back control of the upper chamber at some point.
04:56Joining me now in this Sunday Morning Futures exclusive,
04:59fresh off of her trip to Asia with President Trump,
05:01is the White House Press Secretary, Caroline Leavitt.
05:05Secretary, it's great to see you.
05:06Caroline, thank you so much for being here.
05:10Thanks for having me, Maria.
05:11It's great to see you, too.
05:13Congratulations on this trip.
05:14I'm going to get to Asia in a moment,
05:16but let's talk about the filibuster you heard from John Thune.
05:20He is not going to change it,
05:22but President Trump says he wants them to scrap the filibuster.
05:26Has President Trump spoken to Senator John Thune about this?
05:31President Trump has spoken to Majority Leader Thune.
05:34He's also spoken to our great Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson,
05:37and he's spoken to the whole world by putting his position out on truth social
05:41in a very public and transparent way, as the president always does.
05:46And he is 100 percent right.
05:48Let's talk about what we are dealing with here.
05:50Radical left Democrats who have shut our government down
05:54and held the American people hostage for 32 days in a row.
05:59We have air traffic controller shortages all over this country.
06:03Half of our nation's major airports are suffering from severe delays
06:08as we head into the busiest travel months of the season.
06:11We have a half million federal workers who are going unpaid.
06:15Snap benefits have expired.
06:17Only because of President Trump finding a legal maneuver are our troops
06:22continuing to be getting paid.
06:23If it were up to the Democrats, our military and our law enforcement
06:27would not be receiving their paychecks like the rest of the federal government workforce.
06:32And Democrats are not showing any sign of wanting to reopen the government.
06:37They want to give taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal aliens.
06:41These are crazed people that President Trump and Republicans are having to deal with.
06:45And that's why President Trump has said Republicans need to get tough,
06:49they need to get smart, and they need to use this option to get rid of the filibuster
06:54to reopen the government and do right by the American public.
06:58We know, Maria, based on the polling and based on common sense
07:02that the vast majority of this country wants the government reopened.
07:06That's what President Trump is willing to do.
07:08That's what he wants.
07:09And he's willing to use any lever to make it happen.
07:11Well, it's got to happen soon.
07:13The government must reopen, or we are going to have a serious hit to the economy.
07:17If people stop flying because they're afraid it's not safe
07:21and you've got air traffic control calling in sick, you're going to see a serious hit.
07:26Now, there's one analyst at Cowan & Company who says this government will likely reopen by November 14th
07:31and that there will be a one-year clean Affordable Care Act subsidy extension
07:36and a super committee potential as an off-ramp.
07:39Are you hearing of any off-ramp to get this government open this upcoming week?
07:43We certainly hope so.
07:47Look, we hope the government opens tomorrow.
07:50We have been saying this for 32 days in a row.
07:53The Democrats want to try to renegotiate the entire health care system that they created, by the way,
07:58and that's why they're holding the government hostage.
08:00They want to add $1.7 trillion of new spending
08:04and, again, give taxpayer-funded Medicaid to illegal aliens.
08:08That is a red line in the sand for President Trump and Republicans.
08:12He campaigned on ending that and he did it with the passage of the one big beautiful bill.
08:17And so Republicans and President Trump want to reopen the government
08:20and then we can discuss tackling these very important issues before us.
08:24How can we fix our health care system?
08:26There is no one more committed to answering and solving that question than President Donald Trump.
08:31That's why you've seen him work tirelessly to negotiate good deals with Big Pharma
08:36to bring down the cost of prescription drugs in this country.
08:40That's why you saw him pass the largest tax cuts for working families and American consumers in history
08:45to put more money back into their pockets.
08:48He is committed to delivering on these issues,
08:50but not while we are holding the entire federal government and our country hostage.
08:55Caroline, real quick, is the president not concerned that if you scrap the filibuster,
08:59it will be used against the Republicans in the future
09:02where the Democrats will pass legislation without any input from Republicans?
09:08I think the president is realistic in realizing that the Democrats are going to do that anyway.
09:14You had two Democrats who were opposed to it,
09:17Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin.
09:19And where are they?
09:20Neither of them are in the United States Senate today
09:22because they were pushed out by the far-left radical base
09:25that has completely taken over the Democrat Party.
09:28Again, these are radical-left lunatics in charge of the Democrat Party today,
09:33and they will nuke the filibuster.
09:35They want to make Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico states.
09:37They want to pack the Supreme Court.
09:39They don't care about our sacred institutions in our country.
09:42And so Republicans need to play tough, and they need to play smart,
09:45and that's what President Trump thinks.
09:47One of the most important events of the upcoming week
09:50is the Supreme Court hearing on President Trump's tariffs
09:53and the use of the emergency to use those tariffs.
09:57I spoke with the president about it in my last interview with him two weeks ago.
10:00Here's what he said.
10:01Let's take a listen.
10:01I don't want to even think about it.
10:05We're doing so well to think about it.
10:08You know, if that happened, we'd have to pay back money.
10:10So if anything would happen with that,
10:13that would mean they're allowed to use tariffs and we're not.
10:16If they took away—this is national security.
10:19If they took away tariffs, then they've taken away our national security.
10:23Carolyn, what is the backup plan if the Supreme Court goes against you?
10:32Well, we do have backup plans,
10:33and the president's trade team is working diligently on those contingency plans.
10:37But ultimately, Maria, we are hopeful that the Supreme Court
10:41will rule on the right side of the law and do what's right for our country.
10:45The importance of this case cannot be overstated.
10:47The president must have the emergency authority to utilize tariffs.
10:52Look at what President Trump has been able to do
10:55by leveraging tariffs and leveraging the might of the United States economy.
11:00We are the number one consumer country in the world,
11:03and every country around the world knows it.
11:06It's because of tariffs that President Trump has been effectively able
11:10to cut so many tailor-made trade deals with so many countries around the country.
11:16Look at what—around the world, I mean, look at what he just did in Asia.
11:19You had Malaysia, you had Japan, you had South Korea.
11:23Trade deals all over the place, trillions of dollars of investments
11:26pouring into our country because of his effective use of tariffs.
11:31And it also is a key part of our national security.
11:35We must be—the president must be able to use this authority,
11:38and we're hopeful that the Supreme Court will hear this argument,
11:43will look at the law honestly, as they have in so many cases in the past,
11:47and they will rule on the right side of the law and on the right side of the president,
11:51not just for President Trump, but for future presidents and administrations to come as well.
11:55Most people have realized the effect of President Trump's policies
11:59have made people feel much better across the country.
12:03And, of course, that love fest that he just came off of in the Asia trip,
12:07it almost feels like the Democrats don't want him to do so well.
12:11They are not so happy that things are going well.
12:14They don't.
12:17And it's really pitiful, Maria, because I see how hard President Trump works.
12:22He just flew literally around the globe, barely sleeping for days on end,
12:28to advocate for America and all of our people, Republican, Democrat, Independent.
12:34He is cutting trade deals and peace deals and bringing trillions of dollars of investments.
12:38That means more job and opportunities in communities across the country,
12:42regardless of political affiliation.
12:44He is doing this for the betterment of the United States of America.
12:48And the reception he received from these countries around the world was remarkable.
12:52The world knows America is back,
12:54and we have a leader who has the highest respect from foreign leaders all over the world again.
12:59Well, we saw it.
13:00We watched it all, Caroline.
13:01It's great to see you.
13:02Thank you so much.
13:03We'll be watching.
13:04White House Press Secretary.
13:05Thanks, Caroline.
13:07And now this.
13:10Are you going to endorse anybody in New York?
13:14Well.
13:15Cuomo or Sliwa?
13:16Yeah, I guess I haven't made a decision, really.
13:19Sounds like you're leaning towards somebody.
13:21Well, I think it's not good to have a communist, okay?
13:25Would I rather have a Democrat than a communist?
13:28Barely.
13:29They're almost becoming the same thing.
13:30That's President Trump with me exclusively here two weeks ago on the New York City mayor's race ahead of this Tuesday's election.
13:40A new Fox News poll shows Democrats Oshar Zoran Mamdani still leading the race.
13:45But former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been able to narrow the gap down to 16 points.
13:50Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa down by 32 points.
13:54Joining me now on his bid to become New York City's 119th new mayor is former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
14:00Governor, good to see you this morning.
14:02Thank you so much for being here.
14:03How are you feeling about the polls two days out?
14:07I'm feeling great, Maria.
14:09Actually, there's a new poll after that poll, which came out this morning on the front page of the New York Post that says it's six points.
14:18So he's coming down.
14:20I'm going up.
14:21And that's always that's always good news.
14:23Now, you've talked a lot about people understanding policy, and that's why you've been able to narrow this race, because people are learning more about what Zoran Mamdani wants to do and they're not buying it.
14:35For example, let's go through some of that free buses, free grocery stores.
14:39Is he going to be able to pull that off?
14:42No, none of it.
14:44None of it is reality, Maria.
14:46You know, he's very good on TikTok and social media, and he has great slogans, freeze the rent.
14:54People think that means that he's going to freeze their rent and their rent won't go up.
14:58That's totally untrue.
15:00The mayor has no authority, no legal authority to freeze the rent.
15:04There's an independent board that does it.
15:07They are appointed by term.
15:10So many of the appointees are going to be from Mayor Adams, the prior mayor.
15:14That can't happen.
15:15And free buses.
15:17Yeah, that sounds great.
15:18He doesn't run the buses.
15:20The state runs the buses.
15:21And the state said that that's not going to happen.
15:25Universal child care, because the state's going to tax all the corporations, but all the money goes to New York City.
15:31That's never going to happen.
15:33None of it will happen.
15:35It's just this socialist talk.
15:38Everything free.
15:40Everything free.
15:41There's no free lunch, Maria.
15:43Let me ask you this.
15:45You've said that you want to hire 5,000 new cops.
15:48You said security, feeling safe in New York is one of your top priorities.
15:52Will you keep on New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tish should you win?
15:57Yes.
16:00Okay.
16:01And we all know that New York feels better.
16:04We all know New York feels better because President Trump closed the border.
16:07And that's why we felt better in the last year because of President Trump's efforts.
16:12Are you going to be able to work with President Trump if he wants to send the National Guard there, if he wants to help you with security?
16:19Will you be able to work with this president?
16:20Yeah, that's a good question, Maria.
16:24First of all, I know President Trump.
16:26I was governor when he was president in the first term.
16:30We worked together.
16:31Most people assume, well, the Democratic governor, Democratic mayor is going to fight with a Republican president.
16:42I don't necessarily assume that's true.
16:47I'm going to try cooperation.
16:50I believe President Trump is from New York.
16:52I think he cares about New York.
16:54He has friends in New York.
16:55He has a lot of connections in New York.
16:57And I think he would be open to a cooperative path that is doing good things in New York in cooperation with the federal government.
17:08I think he would like to see New York better.
17:11I believe that.
17:12And I want to appeal to that instinct first.
17:17If it becomes political, Democrat, Republican, like everything else happens down there, then that would be unfortunate.
17:26Well, what about working with the current governor?
17:28I mean, she replaced you, Kathy Hochul.
17:30Would you have an easier time working with Kathy Hochul or how about Elise Stefanik if she wins next year?
17:37Look, whoever the governor is, the mayor of New York has to work with that governor.
17:46And it's a reciprocal relationship because New York City is the economic engine for the state.
17:51So the state needs the city to do well.
17:55The city generates most of the revenue.
17:57And there is an ongoing negotiation.
18:01I did it for 11 years as governor.
18:05I negotiated with Mayor Bloomberg, Mayor de Blasio, etc.
18:09So whether it's a Republican governor or a Democratic governor, yes, you have to work together.
18:14Now, I called Zoran Mamdani to join us.
18:20We wanted to make sure we called everybody.
18:22I spoke with Curtis Sliwa last week.
18:24Curtis told me he is adamant he is not stepping out of this race.
18:27Zoran Mamdani told my team he is not going to sit with me until after the election.
18:33So size up this election here with Curtis Sliwa.
18:36Are you splitting the vote with Curtis Sliwa?
18:41Curtis Sliwa, I think President Trump had this right.
18:44President Trump said Curtis Sliwa is not ready for prime time.
18:48And he's not ready for prime time.
18:52He's led this group called the Guardian Angels for years.
18:56But he has no managerial experience, no government experience.
19:02And he's basically defrauded New Yorkers in the past.
19:06So he's not ready for prime time.
19:08And he is a spoiler in the race.
19:11The only thing he can do is make Mamdani a winner.
19:15Because any vote for Curtis is a vote for Mamdani, period.
19:20There's no way Curtis could ever win.
19:23And I think what the president was saying when you read his tweets over the past few weeks,
19:29he thinks Mamdani, who he calls a communist, would be horrendous for New York.
19:34By the way, I agree.
19:37And this is the far left of the Democratic Party, the socialist wing of the Democratic Party,
19:43trying to take over New York City.
19:45And I believe it would be terrible for New York City.
19:48I believe it would be terrible for the Democratic Party.
19:52And you have said that there's a civil war underway.
19:57We have to talk more about this fraud for Curtis Lee.
20:01Well, I'm not sure what you're referring to, Governor.
20:06Well, if you look in his past, he made up stories while he was at the Guardian Angels of exploits
20:13that turned out to be totally false.
20:16All right.
20:17Andrew Cuomo, great to see you.
20:19We're watching.
20:20Thank you so much for joining us this morning.
20:23Good to be with you.
20:24And we'll be right back with Senator Ted Cruz.
20:27Stay with us.
20:31Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors
20:40could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus.
20:45This was clearly a fishing expedition.
20:51And that Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley
20:53exposing the level of unchecked power special prosecutor Jack Smith had
20:59during his so-called Arctic Frost investigation.
21:02As Smith sought nearly 200 subpoenas to track the phone records of Republicans,
21:08all of them appeared to be directed toward Republicans and staunch supporters of President Trump.
21:13No other reason.
21:14In one instance, my next guest, Senator Ted Cruz, had his phone records subpoenaed.
21:19With federal judge James Bosberg issuing an order to AT&T,
21:24Cruz's cell phone provider, to release his records and not tell the senator about the order
21:30for at least a year.
21:32According to Cruz, Judge Bosberg justified his decision saying,
21:36there's reasonable grounds that the senator will destroy or tamper with evidence on his phone
21:41if he finds out that he is being tracked by Jack Smith.
21:46AT&T ultimately did not comply with the subpoena against Cruz, Cruz said,
21:53citing the speech and debate clause in Article 1 of the Constitution.
21:57However, Verizon did comply with Smith's subpoena for phone records of lawmakers
22:03who used that carrier, according to documents reviewed by Fox News Digital.
22:07Verizon justified their cooperation saying, quote,
22:11they were facially valid and the information sent contained only phone numbers, not names.
22:17The company also said, after speaking with the Senate sergeant at arms,
22:21that it is now changing its policies,
22:23so that in the future it can push back on requests from law enforcement
22:27for phone records of congressional members.
22:29Joining me now with more on all of this is the senator himself, Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
22:35Senator, thanks very much for being here.
22:37This is outrageous about AT&T and Verizon.
22:40Can you tell us more about what you went through?
22:44Well, sure, Maria.
22:45Good morning.
22:45Good to be with you.
22:47Arctic frost is Joe Biden's Watergate.
22:50And in fact, in terms of abuse of government power,
22:53it makes Watergate pale in comparison.
22:55In November of 2022, Donald J. Trump announced his re-election campaign for president.
23:02Three days later, the Biden Justice Department appointed Jack Smith.
23:07His mission, ostensibly, was to investigate what had happened two years before on January 6th.
23:13But remember, the Biden DOJ had been locking up little old ladies who were protesting on the National Mall.
23:19They'd been doing that for two years.
23:21Jack Smith was appointed with one mission, stop Donald Trump.
23:25Do not let the American people vote for Trump as president.
23:29And he took his orders and launched a dragnet, the scope of which has never been seen.
23:34He issued at least 197 subpoenas, directed at over 430 individuals and organizations, all Republicans.
23:44So he went after the Republican Attorney General's Association.
23:48He went after Charlie Kirk in Turning Point USA.
23:51He went after Citizens United.
23:53And he issued subpoenas to nine U.S. senators, all Republicans.
23:58I was one of them.
24:00The subpoena he sent to my cell phone record, AT&T, was for my cell phone records, my voicemails, my texts, communications in and out, the geolocation.
24:10And he sent it to AT&T.
24:11As you noted, AT&T did the right thing.
24:13Their lawyers looked at this subpoena and said, we can't hand this over.
24:17This is protected by the speech and debate clause.
24:21However, AT&T also got on top of that subpoena an order, an order signed by Judge Boasberg that ordered AT&T, you cannot let Cruz know about this subpoena.
24:31Because, as you just read, he found as a judicial matter that if I was notified, I would destroy or tamper evidence and tamper with witnesses.
24:41Now, that is absolutely absurd.
24:44Verizon, unfortunately, did hand over the records of eight senators.
24:50The speech and debate clause did not dissuade them from doing so.
24:53And we've now found out those other eight senators, those subpoenas also came with judicial orders saying you could not tell the senators.
25:01When you have the Biden Department of Justice subpoenaing 20 percent of the Republicans in the Senate, it is an egregious, abusive process.
25:11It is it is a fishing expedition.
25:13And we need to have a full and thorough investigation and accountability for every executive branch official that signed off on weaponizing the government.
25:23And I believe that the House of Representatives should impeach Judge Boasberg.
25:27Judge Boasberg was the one who made findings that he had no basis for.
25:32And when he did that, he took off his judicial robe.
25:35He just became a partisan crusader.
25:39He joined with Jack Smith in the mission to try to stop Donald Trump from being reelected.
25:44Thankfully, the voters prevailed.
25:46Democracy prevailed.
25:48But I'll tell you what, if God forbid Kamala Harris had become president, we would never, ever, ever find out about this.
25:54They would have buried their abuse of power.
25:56And what's critical, this can never happen again.
25:59This is unbelievable, Senator.
26:01And Judge Boasberg has been around for a long time.
26:04He was also the same judge that gave a smack on the wrist to the FBI agent who lied about Carter Page to try and say that Carter Page was not working with the CIA when, in fact, he was so that they could spy on him during the Russia collusion story.
26:20He was also the judge that tried to stop President Trump's agenda.
26:24Now, Verizon sent a letter to Senator Chuck Grassley.
26:27And they said, nonetheless, with the benefit of hindsight and informed by Verizon's discussions with Senate leadership, going forward, we are going to make changes to our practices.
26:38Are you surprised that Verizon just gave up the goods and then didn't tell the senators that they were being tracked for a year just as Judge Boasberg and Jack Smith wanted?
26:48Yeah, look, I am surprised that Verizon did that.
26:54You know, they actually sent Verizon a subpoena for me as well for my office phone, for the landline that sits in my Senate office phone in Washington, D.C.
27:02And Verizon responded they didn't have records on that one.
27:06So they didn't comply with the subpoena that was sent to Verizon for me.
27:10Look, I'm surprised.
27:11I worked very closely with Verizon and their handing over the records is not conduct I would expect of them.
27:17I think they're feeling, they're feeling understandably that there are a lot of senators who are really unhappy that Verizon did not more vigorously protect their privacy.
27:27You know, AT&T is a good Texas company based in Dallas, Texas.
27:31And I'm proud of AT&T for affirmatively doing the right thing.
27:36They went to their legal counsel and the legal counsel said, look, speech and debate protects this.
27:40We're not going to be part of this partisan phishing expedition.
27:44That was the right thing to do.
27:45And I think there's a very real possibility you're going to see Congress act to change the law to prevent.
27:51We don't want either party being able to do this and just surveil the opposing party.
27:56Of course. Real quick, Senator, before you go, will the government open this upcoming week?
28:00This is getting seriously impacting the U.S. economy.
28:03What's your take?
28:05I think it's likely to open Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
28:08The Democrats will wait until after Election Day because they think a shutdown is good for energizing the crazies in their party.
28:15But I think it'll be either late this week or early next week.
28:18Are you going to have to give on the Obamacare subsidies?
28:21No, the Democrats will collapse entirely.
28:25OK.
28:26Senator, thanks very much for being here.
28:28Wonderful to speak with you.
28:29Senator Ted Cruz, we'll be right back with the CEO of NVIDIA.
28:32Jensen Huang is here.
28:33Next.
28:34We planned well for retirement, but...
28:41No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
29:11Welcome back.
29:30A major milestone for America's independence from Communist China this week,
29:34when NVIDIA announced it is beginning manufacturing of its most advanced semiconductor chip,
29:40partly to be used for the military here in America,
29:44answering the call from President Trump to bring the supply chain and manufacturing back to the United States.
29:51NVIDIA announced its fastest AI chip is now being fully produced in Arizona.
29:56The company also announcing a string of deals at its GTC conference in Washington this week,
30:02including a $1 billion investment in Nokia for a 2.9% stake,
30:07a partnership with the Department of Energy to build seven new AI supercomputers,
30:12and a rollout of partnerships across technology, healthcare, and transportation,
30:17teaming up with Eli Lilly on drug discovery, Palantir on enterprise AI,
30:22and Uber on its next-gen robo-taxi fleet.
30:25In the middle of it all, as hundreds of billions of new money has been moving into AI infrastructure,
30:31NVIDIA's stock has been on a tear this week,
30:35hitting an incredible milestone of being valued at $5 trillion.
30:41Unheard of, but it has happened.
30:44Joining me now in this Sunday Morning Futures exclusive is the president and CEO and founder of NVIDIA,
30:50Jensen Huang.
30:51Jensen, congratulations to you.
30:54What a moment in time.
30:55$5 trillion in market value.
30:57How are you feeling?
30:57Well, it's a great honor.
31:01It's a great achievement.
31:03It took us 30 years to reinvent computing and started this complete AI platform shift,
31:10and now the industry is off on a decade-long build-out,
31:14and so really excited with the achievement.
31:17Tell me about manufacturing this Blackwell chip in Arizona, Jensen.
31:22How difficult was that to achieve, to bring such an important chip production here to America?
31:31Well, first of all, AI is an industrial revolution,
31:35and this is the most important technology of our time,
31:38potentially the most important technology of all time.
31:41And when President Trump first took office,
31:43he wanted us to manufacture these critical technologies on shore.
31:48He wanted to re-industrialize the United States.
31:51He wants to have energy growth.
31:54He wants to make sure that the United States is a leader in artificial intelligence.
31:58And in order to do so, we need to lead in energy.
32:02We need to lead in chips.
32:03We need to lead in building AI infrastructures and factories,
32:07including lead in building AI models, of course,
32:10but also using AI in all the different applications in various industries,
32:15from healthcare to manufacturing to robotics to science and to industry.
32:20So he wanted that in his administration,
32:24and he wanted it at the speed of light.
32:27And so I told him that we would bring manufacturing back.
32:29Within nine months, with the partnership of TSMC,
32:33which is an incredible partner for the United States,
32:36Foxconn, Wishtron, Amcor, and Spill,
32:38we've been able to manufacture now the most advanced AI chip in the world,
32:43completely in the United States and Arizona.
32:46The workers worked incredibly hard.
32:50The mechanical engineers, the mechanical, the electricians, the plumbers,
32:53the construction workers, they all worked around the clock.
32:56Nine months later, we're now in volume production of the most advanced AI chip in the world.
33:02Is it much more expensive to do it in the United States versus Taiwan?
33:05It is more expensive to do it in the United States,
33:10but we're going to get better over time.
33:12You know, re-onshoring manufacturing and the first plant of its kind,
33:18it's going to cost a little bit more money, but that's okay.
33:20The national security benefits, the supply chain resilience benefits,
33:27the job creation benefits here in the United States,
33:31you know, we're going to manufacture chips, systems,
33:35and those systems are going to, these AI supercomputers are going to go into
33:39what are going to be AI factories,
33:41which are going to be used by every single industry in the United States.
33:44And so this is going to create, over time, you know, my guess is millions of jobs,
33:50millions of jobs, and really, really high-quality jobs,
33:53you know, from high, really skilled tradecraft.
33:56And so I think this is just such an important thing to do.
33:59It costs money to make the investment, to bring it here,
34:02but over time, it's going to pay for itself and more.
34:05Well, this is an economic story, but this is also a national security story, Jensen.
34:10So talk to us about that a bit and why it was important for you
34:14to ensure, to answer the call from President Trump because of national security issues.
34:20Well, President Trump's argument was simply that we can't afford
34:27to have the critical manufacturing of things that are technologies
34:31and products that are so important to national security
34:35be manufactured around the world and can't be manufactured here.
34:39And I think that argument is sound, it makes perfect sense,
34:43and we decided that we would go all-in on bringing manufacturing back onshore.
34:48And so I think this is great for jobs, it's great for national security,
34:53it's great for supply chain resilience, it's great for our business,
34:56it's great for America.
34:57I think everybody wins.
34:58It's terrific.
34:59It's such a great vision.
35:01The three things that he did that is really important to our industry,
35:05really important to America, number one,
35:07is re-industrialization, energy growth,
35:11and then also taking a leadership position in artificial intelligence,
35:15the most important technology of our time.
35:17And so these three initiatives that we're part of
35:20is going to completely transform America's position in the world
35:24and going to continue to make,
35:26to keep America well ahead of the rest of the world.
35:28And so it's such a great vision, and I'm all behind it.
35:31That is very optimistic.
35:33Jensen, I want to take a short break,
35:34but when we come back, I want to ask you a little about this deal
35:37that the president has agreed upon with Xi Jinping,
35:40what that means for NVIDIA,
35:42and also there's hundreds of billions of dollars
35:44flowing into the AI infrastructure.
35:47I want to get your take on all that money
35:49and where you see that going.
35:51Stay with us.
