00:00But then rook goes on e8 and it just controls e8 square and then the game will be a draw.
00:08So how can we manage to prevent rook from appearing there and also making sure that
00:15it doesn't use e-file for its counterattack, preventing us from promoting our pawn?
00:26The move is bishop a7.
00:32It's a sacrifice, but it's also interference.
00:37Now if black takes it with the rook, then we simply promote the queen.
00:50And there is no check here.
00:52If black tries to renew the threat by going back and trying to have a check, then we move king on f4.
01:09Black gives a check.
01:10And then we sacrifice the bishop again and bring king on e3, rook f1, king e2.
01:21And now our promotion is inevitable.
01:26And of course black can take this bishop with the king, so renewing the threat.
01:30But now rook can no longer go back to e8, which means we can just move the king, our king, to eliminate the threat.
01:40So king goes on d4 and black can make a few desperate checks.
01:45Rook a4, we go king d5, rook a5, we go king d6, rook a6, and we go king d7.
01:52And the promotion is inevitable.
01:53And then we have queen versus rook.
01:58It's an endgame.
