00:00My Little Pony
00:02My Little Pony grooming parlour from Hasbro
00:05Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for 10 vintage collectibles that nowadays have impressively high values
00:11and 10 with disappointingly low values
00:14Charizard being one of the top collectible pieces in Pokemon, this is a one-of-a-kind collection
00:22Number 10. Disappointing Disney VHS Tapes
00:25With how far technology has come, it makes sense that public interest in VHS tapes has faded away
00:30But still, those VHS tapes of old Disney films carry serious nostalgia
00:34with the introduction of home video, the 80s through the 90s, was a crucial era in Disney history
00:39starting in 1980 with Walt Disney Home Video
00:42This summer, give your family an adventure they'll never forget
00:45Walt Disney's Robin Hood on videocassette, capture the fun today
00:49From 1984 to 1994, the company released a line called Walt Disney Classics on VHS
00:56Starting with Robin Hood and continuing with everything from Pinocchio to Cinderella to Peter Pan and many more
01:02Nowadays, the vast majority of Disney VHS tapes only go for a few bucks on eBay and at thrift stores and such
01:08For Disney collectible fans, that's a bargain
01:11So hurry, get Walt Disney Home Video's new mini-classics, only $14.95 each
01:16Fill your home with magic
01:19Number 10. Valuable Hot Wheels Cars
01:21Toy giant Mattel introduced Hot Wheels in 1968
01:26For decades, they've been the go-to car toys for kids
01:29But they've become much more than that
01:31Even for automobile-loving adults, these well-designed, detailed mini-cars have become prized possessions
01:36Um...
01:38A bargain for the rarest of all rare toys
01:41150 grand! Um...
01:43Damn! I don't even touch it
01:46Originally selling for cents, many throwback models have appreciated substantially
01:50Examples include the 1971 Spectra Flame Purple Bifocal
01:55And the 1972 Pink Superfine Turbine
01:58Both rare editions with estimated values as high as the thousands
02:02But even more common Hot Wheels cars can fetch a nice return on investment
02:06Redline Hot Wheels cars, produced from 1968 to 1977
02:11Featuring red stripes across the tyres
02:13Can be worth three digits in decent condition
02:16From cents to that, not bad
02:19There's some heavy hitters in the Hot Wheel world
02:21That would jump on a prototype like this
02:24So it'd be easily $100,000 for this car
02:27Number 9
02:28Disappointing
02:29Commemorative State Quarters
02:31Is it unreasonable to think certain quarters should be worth more than 25 cents?
02:35Perhaps
02:36But we're doing it anyway
02:37The 50 State Quarter program, introduced in 1999
02:40Was a welcome site for US coin collectors
02:43Announcing the new 50 State Quarters from the United States Men!
02:47Ah!
02:48Hmm... special effects
02:49You could slot each commemorative State Quarter into your organized collector's book
02:53The coins, with their very neat and detailed designs, were a massive hit
02:57Now you can organize and protect your coins
03:00As you enjoy collecting each quarter in this exciting series
03:03Kids will have so much fun trading them
03:06And it's a chance to trade something that actually has value
03:09According to the US Mint government page
03:11An estimated 147 million Americans collected them
03:15Given the coin's awesome designs and the high level of public interest
03:19It's hard to wrap our heads around them
03:21Not being more valuable today
03:23Apart from ones with rare errors
03:25We suppose, after all, they are quarters
03:27Still, we wouldn't use these at the gumball machine
03:3050 new quarters will be issued over the next 10 years
03:33One to represent each state
03:35In 1999, five coins were issued
03:37These highly collectible coins will never be minted again
03:40Number 9
03:41Valuable
03:42Vintage Barbie Dolls
03:43Ruth Handler changed the world of dolls forever
03:45With the introduction of Barbie in 1959
03:48Given how far it's come since
03:50It's no wonder those early Barbies are so valuable today
03:53The first ever one
03:54Sporting a black and white swimsuit and ponytail
03:56Can go for thousands of dollars
03:58Even in mediocre condition
04:00In mint condition
04:01Then we're talking close to $30,000
04:04Back in 1959
04:05It cost just $3
04:07Barbie dressed for swim and fun is only $3
04:09Her lovely fashions range from $1 to $5
04:12Look for Barbie wherever dolls are sold
04:15Besides the original
04:16There are also multiple other vintage Barbies
04:18That are now worth hundreds and even thousands of dollars
04:21American Girl dolls deserve a mention here too
04:24As certain older additions can also be worth a lot
04:27But Barbie gets the spot on our list
04:29Because she's the queen of this
04:31I think that you have no problem whatsoever getting somewhere between
04:37You know, $7,500 and $8,000 for this doll
04:41Number 8
04:42Disappointing
04:43Vintage Playboy magazines
04:44Unless it's the 1953 first edition with Marilyn Monroe
04:48Those vintage Playboy magazines aren't worth as much as one would think
04:52Based on their mega status and historical influence in pop culture
04:56How do you know so much about Playboys?
04:58Trust me chum, I know
05:00This is amazing
05:01This is the most collectible issue of Playboy ever
05:04Most Playboys are worth a few bucks
05:06This is worth a few thousand
05:07Most editions from the 60s and 70s are very unlikely to crack three figures in value
05:12Even many copies from the 50s are no guarantee whatsoever to rake in that amount
05:16Especially if not in pristine condition
05:18And without their centrefold
05:20Forget it
05:21These days, collections of Playboy issues from the 70s and on
05:24Even ones featuring some of the biggest sex icons of their time
05:28Routinely sell for only a few bucks per magazine on eBay
05:31Hey Joey, Playboy printed my joke
05:33What?
05:34No, no, no
05:35It's mine
05:36It's my joke
05:37You can call them
05:38They'll tell you
05:39It's my joke
05:40It's my joke
05:41Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
05:42Jokes?
05:43You guys know they have naked chicks in there, right?
05:44Yeah
05:45Number 8
05:46Valuable
05:4790s Pokemon cards
05:48If Pokemon craze may have peaked in the late 90s and early 2000s
05:51Make no mistake about it
05:53Pokemon cards are alive and well
05:55Today, plenty of collectors jump at the opportunity to get their hands on the best cards from the golden age
06:00Fast forward to a resurgence in Pokemon popularity
06:03Making some OG merchandise worth a pretty penny
06:06This 1999 first edition Charizard at Sotheby's sold for almost $200,000
06:12Rare Pikachus and Charizards released between 1997 and 1999 steal the show
06:17In 2021, a 1998 Pikachu illustrator graded in mint 10 condition by PSA sold for over $6 million
06:27A PSA 9 went for nearly $1.48 million that same year
06:32YouTuber Logan Paul famously bought one for $150,000 in 2020
06:37His mint condition first edition Charizard is considered the holy grail of Pokemon cards
06:42During the 2020s, multiple other rare Pikachus and Charizards have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars
06:48Base set cards, particularly rare holo versions with high grades, have great value and demand
06:53The nostalgia of these hits different
06:56This card could go $30,000 to $40,000
07:00Altogether, I'm estimating anywhere from $380,000 to $390,000 for this collection
07:07Number 7. Disappointing Encyclopedia Britannica sets
07:10Traditional print encyclopedias have become obsolete in the digital age
07:14Even the famous Encyclopedia Britannica faced the reality of that
07:17With its print run of more than 240 years coming to an end in 2010
07:22The digital version became all that was needed
07:25And even though some would argue there's nothing quite like a physical book
07:29The low values of vintage Encyclopedia Britannica sets don't reflect that
07:33It's the new Encyclopedia Britannica
07:35Encyclopedia Britannica? Now you tell me
07:38I've got a report due tomorrow
07:39On what?
07:40On the exploration of space
07:42On the whole, they're worth much, much less than they were originally sold for
07:46Many sets from the 21st century that originally went for $1,000 to $3,000
07:51May not even be worth a couple of hundred nowadays
07:54Knowledge acquisition has changed
07:56And apparently, people aren't all that interested in the old ways
07:59These days, it's rare that students
08:02Like these fifth graders at Eisenhower Academy in Joliet, Illinois
08:06Would even pick up a physical copy of Britannica
08:10Number 7. Valuable Tiffany Lamps
08:13These gorgeous lamps produced between the 1890s and 1920s are true works of art
08:19And sale trends during the 21st century tell us they're still viewed in extremely high regard
08:24You can see why
08:26The most valuable Tiffany lamps have gone for millions of dollars
08:29For example, a rare 1903 Pond Lily Lamp
08:32Sold for a record-breaking $3,372,500 at auction in 2018
08:41A Trumpet Creeper Tiffany Lamp, also from 1903
08:45Exchanged hands for $2,295,000 in 2018
08:50Today, a Tiffany Lamp can sell for anywhere from thousands to millions of dollars at auction
08:54But Noble sees deeper meaning hidden in the glass
08:57How choices made by a group of women left their mark on the future
09:01Other vintage Tiffany Lamps have sold for hundreds of thousands
09:04And there are plenty of examples of ones worth tens of thousands
09:07These were originally expensive, but nothing like this, obviously
09:11Vintage lamps are very much still desirable for collectors
09:14Especially ones as beautiful as these
09:17This is a Tiffany Lamp
09:18Those of you who know Tiffany Lamps know this is a good one
09:20Because from around 1905 to 1910
09:23Just sold at auction for $541,000
09:27Number 6
09:28Disappointing
09:29Franklin Mint Plates
09:30Most of these vintage collector plates from the 70s and 80s
09:33Now sell for less than $10 a pop
09:35Their values lie in their decorative and sentimental nature
09:38Not financially
09:39It evokes all the emotion of the original scene
09:42And can be yours now at the issue price of $27.50 from the Bradford Exchange
09:46Franklin Mint Plates used to be one of the more popular decorative plates out there
09:51Once considered investments for some collectors
09:53But those positive outlooks flipped for the worse around the turn of the century
09:57Some may remember the artistry of Franklin Mint's Norman Rockwell line of plates
10:02But even those are now only worth a fraction of their original retail values
10:07Not all plates go up in value, some go down
10:09But the Bradford Exchange can often recommend plates that show excellent potential
10:14Like this earlier exceptional gone with the wind plate
10:17Number 6
10:18Valuable
10:19Classic Film Posters
10:20The golden age of Hollywood is obviously remembered through the many timeless classic films we still watch
10:25That cinematic history also persists in the form of film posters
10:29Very, very valuable film posters
10:32The 1933 check one sheet for King Kong
10:36It's expected to fetch more than $80,000
10:39In the old days film posters were printed in much more limited quantities
10:43And many were discarded
10:45Ones that weren't have been steadily climbing in value for decades
10:48During the 21st century, multiple film posters from 1920s and 1930s classics have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars
10:56And I picked this up for about $72,000 five or six years ago
11:00And today its value is well over $200,000
11:05Examples include a record-breaking $690,000 for a poster of the 1927 film Metropolis
11:12As well as $525,800 for a 1931 Dracula poster
11:18Just to name a couple
11:19While those are rarities of course, other vintage film posters can be worth a pretty penny too
11:24The most expensive poster Heritage ever sold was a Dracula Style A one sheet
11:30And that sold for over $540,000
11:335. Disappointing Pogs
11:35For all the buzz Pogs caused on school playgrounds, it's too bad they're not highly coveted these days
11:41I'm really sorry, I kinda traded your soul to the guy at the comic book store
11:46But look, I got some cool Pogs
11:49Elf Pogs
11:50Think those special hologram Pogs might be valuable?
11:53Well you might be only able to get a few bucks for those
11:56Well I have like the originals, they're like expensive, they're like 50 cents each
12:01And then I have some of the fake ones like around there
12:04And they're like 10 cents each
12:06There are some vintage holographic skull designs that can fetch $40 plus on eBay
12:11But aside from that, if you still have your regular old Pogs collection
12:15Even with all those designs we thought were so cool back then
12:18You're likely to be disappointed with the return
12:28At this point, you might as well start playing again
12:30Or just give them away
12:325. Valuable Vintage Leica Cameras
12:35Now we're talking
12:37Leica cameras
12:38Developed in Germany, date back to the Roaring Twenties
12:41Or as they're known in Germany, the Golden Twenties
12:44What do all these people have in common?
12:46Well
12:48They all use Leica cameras
12:52In 2022, a 1923 O-series Leica became the most expensive camera ever sold
12:58How much you ask?
13:00Well, try $15 million
13:03Yes, you heard that right
13:05Sure, that's an outlier
13:06But another 1923 Leica sold at an auction for $2.97 million
13:13That's not too shabby either
13:15Later Leica models can also fetch a pretty penny
13:18Take for instance a rare black 1957 Leica MP
13:22That went for $1.34 million
13:25Other less rare and worse condition vintage Leicas can still put hundreds or even thousands of dollars in your pocket
13:32This is a camera that I own
13:33This is the Leica 1A
13:35It was not a $3 million camera
13:36I paid about $1,600 for this
13:38But it was the first production camera that Leica ever made
13:41People will pay a lot to look through a lens of the past
13:45Number 4
13:47Disappointing
13:481990s Happy Meal Toys
13:50There were so many legendary Happy Meal toys in the 90s
13:53Ones that now have nostalgia written all over them
13:56But apparently such nostalgia doesn't equate to a significant price tag
13:59Even decades removed
14:01What's in McDonalds Happy Meal?
14:03One of four Nintendo Super Mario Brothers 3 toys
14:06You'd likely have to sell a whole batch of 90s Happy Meal toys
14:09For it to even be worth the time to try to sell them
14:12Even if the toys are unopened
14:14You might only get a buckle two for each
14:16A Diet Coke and a
14:17100 Happy Meals
14:18100 Happy Meals
14:19When's lunch?
14:20I mean one Happy Meal
14:22Now buy your kid a hamburger Happy Meal at McDonalds for just $1.99
14:26And get a Tiny Toon Flipkart
14:27That goes for throwbacks like the 1991 Tiny Toon Adventures toys
14:32And the 1994 The Magic School Bus toys
14:35As well as more mainstream collectibles McDonalds gave out
14:38Like the 1997 Teeny Beanie Babies
14:41And the 1999 Furbies
14:44There's something big at McDonalds
14:46It's Furby
14:47And right now there are 80 different colourful characters in all
14:50Each one's a surprise in every Happy Meal you buy
14:52Maybe one day people will change their minds about these artefacts
14:56Number 4
14:57Valuable
14:58Original Star Wars action figures
15:00Vintage figurines from one of the most successful film franchises of all time
15:04Should be worth something
15:06And they are
15:07Now your children can relive our great space battles
15:10Or collect our wonderful Star Wars companions
15:12With Kenner's Star Wars action figures
15:14The first Kenner's Star Wars action figures arrived shortly after the original 1977 film
15:20A complete set featuring all the classic characters can easily go for hundreds of dollars
15:26It's Luke
15:27And Obi-Wan
15:28And my favourite Chewie
15:29They're all here
15:30Better yet on the rare occasion that just one of these action figures is still sealed in the original box
15:36It can easily go for hundreds on its own
15:39That's exactly what happened in 2025 for the likes of Obi-Wan, C-3PO, and Princess Leia
15:45What can we say?
15:46People love Star Wars
15:48Oh yeah, and check the basement for vintage G.I. Joe action figures too
15:52Because they're also pretty valuable nowadays
15:55G.I. Joe, America's moveable fighting man
15:58The most realistic toy soldier the world has ever known
16:02Number 3
16:03Disappointing
16:04Precious Moments Figurines
16:05Jamie's a lot like my mom's Precious Moments Figurines collection
16:08I have no idea what that means
16:10He's a fragile little bitch
16:11Unless your Precious Moment figurine has a signature from founder Sam Butcher
16:15Or is just an ultra rare edition
16:17It isn't likely that it's worth that much
16:19That's true of even the earliest versions which came out in 1978
16:24A lot of people actually collected these through the 70s and through the 80s and I guess through the 90s
16:29But they're not a big seller
16:31Maybe you can get $10 or even $20 for one if you're lucky
16:35But the nostalgic appeal of these religious figures would lead us to think that they could be worth much more
16:40It's much more than just products
16:42It celebrates precious moments in everybody's life
16:47We know there's a market for vintage holiday antiques as well
16:50But even the holiday themed Precious Moments figurines don't go for that much these days
16:55Number 3
16:56Valuable
16:57Vinyl Records
16:58Society may have moved away from vinyl records to an extent
17:01But don't get it twisted
17:02They're alive and well
17:03Are all these records?
17:05I've got about 1,578 at this point
17:09I've tried to pare down my collection to just the essential
17:12Sure we have a multitude of ways to stream music more conveniently now
17:15But many still hold this throwback way of listening close and dear
17:19In the 2010s there was a vinyl revival of sorts
17:22CDs nearly killed records but when streaming hit records started selling again
17:27Up 18 years in a row
17:29Some of the rarest one-of-a-kind records have gone for hundreds of thousands of dollars
17:34But even less scarce vintage vinyl records can go for big bucks if in good condition
17:40And even the super mass produced classics can be worth a decent amount
17:44But for many people dropping the needle and letting that record spin is priceless
17:49For this is all a dream we do
17:53One afternoon on the devil
17:58Number 2
17:59Disappointing
18:001990s comic books
18:02A lot of comic book fans have a pretty negative view of the 1990s
18:06The art style was often loud and the storytelling didn't always land like it did in the old days
18:10Even with the rise of new characters like Harley Quinn and Deadpool
18:13Anyway I got places to be a face to fix and oh bad guys to kill
18:19On top of that the market was absolutely flooded
18:22With tons of different titles and way too many copies
18:25That's a big reason why most of them just aren't worth that much today
18:28Got it
18:29Got it
18:30Got it
18:31Got it
18:32Got it
18:33Got it
18:34Got it
18:35Got it
18:36Got it
18:37Got it
18:38Got it
18:39Got it
18:40Got it
18:41Got it
18:42Still there were definitely plenty of bright spots
18:44Like The Sandman, Spawn and Kingdom Come just to name a few
18:48But even those rarely go for much unless they're in mere perfect condition
18:53Number 2
18:54Valuable
18:55Vintage Video Games
18:56Factory sealed classic video games can be worth a fortune
19:00Look no further than the Nintendo original 1985 Super Mario Bros game
19:05That sold for 2 million dollars in 2021
19:09That's really happened
19:11We're not playing
19:12It's from the test market launch of the NES as far as we know
19:16Which was only in 1985 and 1986
19:18No one even knew who Nintendo was
19:20Oh yeah and what can a 1987 Legend of Zelda game cartridge get you?
19:26Well apparently 870,000 dollars
19:29Even if it's a classic that has been played time and time again it may well be worth something
19:34We will live the game through our hands
19:36We will be in control of something
19:42We will change the system
19:43There's something about those vintage video games that can scratch a nostalgic gamers itch
19:48So don't tell us they're outdated
19:50They're standing the test of time just fine
19:53Sam Cratha from a town in regional Victoria has a copy of every Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy game released for the Australian market
20:01It was really kind of the thrill of the chase of like finding different variations
20:05Before we continue be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos
20:11You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them
20:15If you're on your phone make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications
20:20Number one disappointing beanie babies
20:24Ah the 90s collectible phenomenon the beanie baby
20:28When they're first released you can get them for about five to seven dollars
20:31Once they retire the value goes up
20:34In like two years there was like 245 dollars
20:39These cute little fellas made countless people smile
20:41And who knows for how many people they helped spark an interest in poetry
20:45Sadly the craze is gone
20:47And beanie babies clearly don't have a ton of nostalgic value these days
20:51Maybe it'll take a few more decades
20:53Or it's just not meant to be
20:55Suddenly investors and collectors who had hoped to make a living out of trading plush animals
21:00Found themselves with inventory that was not worth what they once paid
21:04While there are a few super rare exceptions
21:06The more regular beanie babies that were part of so many collections
21:10Routinely go for less than their original five dollar retail price
21:14Considering they're the symbol of the 90s collector culture
21:17A true icon
21:18That's definitely disappointing
21:20In a USA weekend poll estimated that 64% of Americans owned at least one beanie baby
21:26One divorcing couple had so many
21:29They needed a judge to fairly split their collection
21:32Number one valuable baseball cards
21:34There are loads of examples of old baseball cards commanding a lot of dough
21:39Cards with values in the hundreds and even the thousands
21:41Are much more common than a lot of people probably think
21:44It's not the drugs that I care about
