00:00Hello on the tuning blog channel.
00:02Today, for a special reason.
00:06I recently published a video about changing the brakes on this vehicle.
00:11Um, it was on the front axle, it's been a while now, but there were quite a few comments.
00:17Among other things, there was a comment about how to measure the brake discs,
00:21because they have this degree on the outside.
00:24You can see it here, right? I hope I can get it right.
00:29The upper part develops a degree over time and it's difficult to measure it with a caliper.
00:36This one here does have a small indentation, which might just be enough to measure the degree correctly.
00:43Um, but there's a trick.
00:45Um, I can show you, it's really simple.
00:48Of course, the wheel has to come off first.
00:52Okay, the wheel is off and you can see that on this one,
00:55I hope you can see that there are small indentations up here.
00:58Um, they pretty much match the one with the degree.
01:03That means I can measure it relatively easily with it.
01:06It actually fits exactly, works wonderfully.
01:09However, there are also plenty of calipers where that's not the case or the degree is now stronger.
01:14Then the result will definitely be falsified.
01:17Um, my idea for this is to simply take 2 coins.
01:21Um, you have to see which ones you take.
01:24But these are actually 5 cent coins.
01:26So, they are definitely stronger than the one on the disc.
01:30And you simply place them once on the outside and once on the inside.
01:36Now I'm probably covering the camera with my hand, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
01:42So, that's how you measure it, right?
01:45I hope you can see that now.
01:51And it's fixed.
01:54Now you can pull it off, coins fall down.
01:57And now you have the measurement, no, in this case I don't know.
02:02I think it's 25 millimeters.
02:06And then you simply take the coins and then measure the diameter of the coin, right?
02:12So here one has 2 millimeters, yeah, something like that, right?
02:18Uh, and then you simply subtract it from the coins.
02:22It's actually quite simple, that way you have the optimal measurement.
02:26And that's basically it.
02:28Just a little tip on the side, if it helped you.
