00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about the Opel Mocha JSE with electric drive and its exciting appearance as a rally version.
00:11In a new press release, Opel has presented a rally car with the striking OMG GSE foil.
00:19Even though the official focus is on motorsports, it is suspected that Opel is offering a near-production preview of a particularly powerful version of the Mocha Electric.
00:30This could be used in the Electric One Make Cup 80 AC Opel Electric Rally Cup powered by GSE from 2026.
00:39The prototype's electric drive produces 281hp and 345Nm of torque.
00:49This makes it technically equivalent to the Alfa Romeo Jr. Electric 280.
00:53The battery is also from familiar stocks, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 54kWh, of which 50.8kWh are net.
01:04The power is transferred to the road via front-wheel drive.
01:08While many components have been adopted from the previous Opel Mocha Electric, some modifications are clearly motorsport-related.
01:15These include yellow brake calipers on the front wheels, which would also be conceivable in a production version, as well as striking yellow rims at the rear and a roof air intake, which probably serve purely for rally looks and function.
01:32Technically, the rally version relies on a multi-disc differential lock, whereas the Alfa uses a Torsen differential lock.
01:39A different design with gears instead of plates.
01:45A special racing gearbox is also installed, which is likely characterized by either a more robust reduction gear or a modified gear ratio, or even both.
01:57Furthermore, a modified suspension and a particularly lightweight chassis were developed.
02:03Electronic driving aids are omitted.
02:04Instead, the MOA GS e-rally was equipped for tough rally use with a roll cage, special seats with six-point harnesses, an extinguishing system, reinforced battery protection, and massive underbody protection.
02:19The vehicle is being developed according to the new e-rally 5 regulations of the FUR.
02:24The prototype will be shown for the first time at the next round of the ADAC Opel Cup on May 23rd and 24 in the Netherlands.
02:35The production model, which Opel may be anticipating here, could come to market in the future with the familiar 207-watt engine, or around 287 horsepower.
02:44This power output is already familiar from the Alfa Romeo Jr. Velos and is also planned for the future Lancia YHF.
02:55The Opel Mocha GSA would thus be another brand variant within the Stellantis Group based on the ICMP platform.
