00:00Back in 2015, we were on an extradition with my partner, who is now retired, who I miss
00:06dearly.
00:07I wish he was here.
00:09We heard some screams, and two young little girls ran past me, and I saw two guys fighting.
00:15One had a knife, and the other guy was protecting himself.
00:19The guy with the knife actually stabbed the guy in the arm.
00:23He slashed him in the throat, and he was about to hit him in the chest with the knife.
00:28And I pulled out my weapon, and I was able to get the weapon from him and subdue him.
00:33We went right into action, which is what we were trained to do.
00:37I love the police department, I've been through a lot in the police department, and it was
00:42always great.
00:43I love being, I come to work every day, I love coming to work, and I got to tell you, it was
00:50great that we were able to do our job, and that's what we did, we did our job.
00:54But the most impactful moment was when I came home, and my son was 11 years old at the time.
01:03And he said, Dad, I'm so proud of you.
01:06That's so nice.
01:07And that's when I knew that, hey, this is what it's all about.
01:11You don't need to be recognized, but that's what it's all about, helping people, being
01:18part of this great organization, which I just can't see myself leaving.
01:23I'm still here.
01:24But I love it, and I'm happy that I was able to make first grade and keep going.
01:31Keep going.
